I will most likely take the opportunity to update the design but in overall it will lean heavily like the Maroon one. Same goes for the gun. Question is is - black and maroon combo or sleek, stealth-like black?

I'm fine with those but I'm not too big on medieval-looking armor. So more Elder and Tau I guess? I'm more into technological/sleeker designs. I don't dabble in 40k so I have to look up some of the examples you mentioned.
