Ultimate Immersion v2.0 update news [1.12.2/1.14]

Hey guys! So I've been thinking a lot about the future of this mod lately because modding became so divided between mod loaders Forge and Fabric nowadays. I've been doing a lot of testing recently and it's really hard for me to decide what direction this mod should turn.
I'm planning to start developing another more experimental mod once I update v1.16 but platforms are not quite ready yet for it. So I'm really divided between choices. Originally I was thinking to make v2.0 in 1.16 but I'm still waiting for more support from Fabric before moving on, as once I do I will offer the latest versions of Forge and Fabric and abandon 1.12.2 and 1.14.4 support. The reason why I'm postponing 1.15 or 1.16 release in Forge, which would be possible already is much smaller Forge mod selection in upper versions of Minecraft. Especially camera rendering mods that only work up until 1.12.2 in Forge.
The solution will then be Fabric, which already has 1.16 support for Replay camera mod, but Fabric still doesn't handle too well with my mod objects and I'm waiting for last few updates that are already planned for release very soon.
So as soon as they are, the next update will be Forge and Fabric support for 1.16.
It's a bit complicated but I really didn't find any other solution at the moment, though I wanted to move forward for a long time now. It was just too early.



So next update will bring more stair, door and electronic elements like radio system and speakers etc.
I'm exploring more advanced mechanic and usability approaches like connecting mod blocks, so you'll be able to build things without having to select every single element in the mod individually and place it. Just like fences in vanilla Minecraft. That would be a well needed solution for window frame placement. Though this is not yet guaranteed.

Hi, thank you so much. The end rods are not part of my mod. The illumination is controlled by SEUS PTGI shader but it's not supported yet as far as I know.

love these textures. makes Minecraft 100x better, i have one small problem, how do I get end rods to light up? the emit light in my hand but when I place them they are dark.

Im using 1.12 and i dont think it has to do with my GPU since i have a 2080ti. I think it could also be a memory error i have 32gb of ram. I allocated 24 gb of ram to minecraft and it still gives me an out of memory error. Should i allocate less ram maybe because it could be my computer running out of memory to run mc so it crashes?

What version of MC are you using? Sometimes this happen due to OpenGL error if you reach your GPU VRAM limit. That only occurs with x2048 at the moment but only due to Optifine but where you're forced to reload the pack once more in game so it stacks the VRAM usage and results in OpenGL error. Amazing job with these updates it's really nice seeing the mod develop. I'm having a small problem with the textures (particularly the white concrete) not being as smooth or reflective as it used to be. I'm using the v1.9 x2048 pack and SEUS PTGI E12 shader pack so im not sure if im doing something wrong or if its just a glitch. I asked around the discord but didn't get a response. Thanks :)

I know, I'm sorry. As much as I'd love to keep the support I'm working on this alone so it's becoming impossible to take care of so many things and prepare so many packs. There's so many more options and extensions available in upper versions it's for the mod's best to move forward. Thank you for the kind words and I'm really looking forward to see the movie. With all that I have planned in future versions I'm sure all would be a really nice addition to the movie, though maps would need to be rebuilt since they can't be ported from 1.12.2, sadly.

I gotta say I'm saddened by the future abandonment of 1.12.2. But I understand. I'm currently using your Ultimate Immersion for Minecraft Roleplays and working on a Minecraft full length movie. You make good stuff!

I understand, I was also hoping for a similar system as CTM/connected textures but for models.

Thanks a lot! I already use CTM though it does not handle well with Optifine. There's a bug with CTM mod block appliance on a first run and only hard refresh solves it which is really inconvenient for Java. What I want to do is actually connected models.

Awesome job as always mate. I guess for connected appliances you could use CTM but you would be limited to a single model and have to rely on stencil transparency. Having different models like fences do probably required modding.
