Some Thoughts...
Added 2022-12-21 22:36:30 +0000 UTCSo this is a follow-up (kinda) to this poll I posted (if you haven't participated yet, please do so since that'll give me a better idea of what you're after). I don't know if my feelings will change next week or what, but I wanted to indicate that I am paying attention. Hopefully this will better explain where I'm coming from since I feel like there's a lot lost in translation and I'm still struggling to understand what people mean by "double-charged" and feeling bad about it.

Anyway, to answer something asked-- and this ties into my concerns over what I presumed was common-knowledge, but actually isn't:

On one level, I can understand it if a Content Creator was offering a time-sensitive promotional service thing, like merchandise (or 'merch') or something to do with a convention or one of those #relatable fad thingies like Inβktoβber or what-have-you.
Or moreover, if a Content Creator was relatively newish and didn't have that much of a back-catalogue, or archive and for example, uploaded a glut of content the week after Charging Week ended. So understandably, someone who has joined Patreon the week before Charging Week started, and then got charged again, would get annoyed. But beyond that... ?????
Like, I'm just some guy who draws stuff and once it's posted, there it is.
Perhaps I'm just too used to the Direct Debit style of charging where irrespective of when you chose to pay for something, the old charging date would move to the first of the month-- but this may have been a late 1980s, early 1990s thing, or it may be a UK-exclusive thing. I really don't know, and haven't lived in a foreign country long enough to pick up on the differences of charging.
I'm sorry for 'not getting it' -- I think there's a very big generational/ cultural gap (as this platform is based in California and I'm often having to have the boyfriend translate/contextualise things for me) that I'm struggling to overcome. Or I'm just very naΓ―ve to how things work in this era, and I'm managing to get by on very threadbare cognition. Or something-- I dunno, the following was in my head as I was producing this post:

Oh, and let me know what you think below. I know this platform isn't exactly... conducive for what I've heard some call "building a community", or "having a conversation" or whatever (and given it's literally just before Christmas and all) but ... eh. π€·π½ββοΈ I tried.
Take care.

I want to say that a "double charge" is when someone would subscribe to a patreon close to the end of a month, and then be charged again on the 1st of the next month.

Granted I only follow a couple given money constraints; regardless, how my subscription is set with yours is the same as others I've experienced. So I don't think there's any cause for over worrying. You're honestly the most communicative artist I've ever followed (for over a decade at that on various platforms haha) and it shows how much care and effort you put into your work.
