PODCASTS!

Happy New Year all! Heres to many more safe and injury free KMs in 2024. I did less KMs in 2023 than '22 but more hours in the saddle...AKA more MTB!

Anyway, do comment down below if you have any podcast GUEST suggestions at your burning desire.

First outing on new TT rig

Finished the build at 10:12am. Sign on was at 10.30am! Ok so it wasn't quite finished - the cables weren't cut and capped, the rear brake wasn't great but the gears were precise and with 30kmh wind gusting 55 it was a fun little 10 mile TT to shake down the new build. Felt so good to get on a TT bike again and the custom PT cockpit was solid. So chuffed with this build. In total cost me about 2.2k gbp. Sold the old one for 1.9k. Some more special wheels coming very soon! Cheers

New Bike is complete: First impressions (New hubs too)

So... A long time coming this one. I have had this frame for a while and have been shopping around for what feels like an aeon for the parts at the best prices. The frame is a Santa Cruz megatower CC in XXL....it is huge. A longer reach and wheelbase than my XL DH bike. Crazy. You may know this replaced my Hightower, a shorter travel but almost as long and capable trail bike. Truth be told, I was somewhat putting this build off due to this being, for me at least, a dwindling niche. Between th...

The big one

There may be a few changes/ edits to this before it goes live, I think its a bit long. Glad to finally put this one to bed!

Here's the frame and some QC points!

Interesting to see this frame is still bladder moulded and not EPS foam and latex moulded! Anyway, the BB is very good so I will be using the standard 15 quid Shimano plastic BB!

I bought a rim brake bike...

Am i mad? This is probably the oldest running model year still in use and production. The Trinity was launched in October 2015...its still being made today. I thought i'd get one before they stopped making the rim version - I think they will go to disc at the end of 2024. Full frame inspection coming to Patreon shortly. Any questions, please ask!

New TT components

I have been developing some new components for the Giant Trinity and they're now ready! I am looking to level up my TT performances next season after winning my Club's road bike TT cup (not many people entered). This is a fully integrated one piece spacer solution that is much stiffer and taller than the stock Giant setup. There is full internal routing available for di2. If anyone is interested, more details can be found on the site! Peak-torque.com

Classified Part 1

Sorry i deleted the post by accident! Not quite the final video, missing an intro, but here I go into 1. How the classified hub works and 2. Their white paper claims. My part 2 video will show my test results and my overall experience with the system. These are some of the most important videos I have ever made for a number of reasons. This one is very in-depth, part 2 will probably be more user friendly. Cheers

Lun (winspace) Mega review - should all wheels be built like this

Finally the review after 4 months of testing complete! Still not clearing the back log of wheels. I may put these up for sale - great wheels but I need space. if anyone wants first reserve then let me know!

3d scanning for making Carbon parts.

This one is super geeky - maybe a bit too niche for YouTube? Let me know what you think. A fund project for me, with some very satisfying results when finishing the carbon parts

Probably the world's most expensive disc rotors. There has been a lot of work put into these!

High engineering, but a huge inventory of parts. This needs simplifying if they want to take over the game.

THURSDAY Lunch update: CLASSIFIED

Hi all, a few updates.

1. CLASSIFIED have entered the PT test pool. I am quite impressed with their open-ness to send me something for test. They have also sent me an un-released white paper with theoretical, numerical, and experimental efficiency results. It is quite impressive. I will have a call with them soon to discuss it.

2. Road wheels: I am now back testing the Winspace Megas, which will probably be the next video. After a teething issue of the bolts, they're v...

VFV bags

As seen in the last video - these are really cool. They use a boa style ratchet to close an inner compartment to keep the jingly bits safe. I am talking to them closely and hopefully I can get them on my website.

More Design flaws

I'll let you join up the dots.

Yoeleo said max 45c now on the front. Website says 53c. I get to overlap with a 32mm conti on this. How can an offroad bike be shorter than a TCR?! No way am i going ride this down really technical tracks (such a shame as i was really hoping to for the video)

34 chainring also rubs. Despite website claims this fits.

Paint too close to the bb shell so nice paint is destroyed by the cups.

Yawn.
