Neko, love you and your work but can we please have alternating months where there are ZERO Vtubers on the poll and then Vtubers on the next one? Yes I’m aware Vtubers don’t always win (rarely lately) but they still almost always come in the top 3. If anything I’m just curious to see how a poll will look without a Vtuber on it.

Yeah the issue is that fans of hololive will happily vote for every hololive character, but with your standard anime stuff it's much more varied and people spread their votes out. That makes it much easier for hololive to win.

It certainly feels like there's a bit of a positive feedback loop going on here. If neko makes an animation for Hololive (or just a popular VTuber in general), that will naturally draw in more people who like VTubers, and it's fair to assume at least some of them will become Patrons. Therefore, when another vote comes around, there will of course be even more people who are fans of VTubers than there already were, and any VTuber candidates will naturally get even more votes. Of course, this is not the only thing that determines the outcome of these votes, it's just one factor. And this one factor can easily be overturned by various other factors. However, it's definitely a significant factor that you can't really invalidate simply by saying "Well, they don't always win."

I'm not sure why it's so hard for some to fathom that 50% of the content being one single franchise/thing is tiring for people who aren't into it. It's great for you if you are into it, but don't act like it's a crazy concept or people complaining over nothing, you'd be equally frustrated if half of Neko's usually varied content became about a franchise you didn't like, even with Roxy barely scraping by and winning last vote.

Shylily January 2023, Ina February 2023, Kiara May 2023, Marine August 2023 and now Kroni easy wins this poll. That's 5 vtubers in 10 animations. So yeah when you don't care about them it sucks, there used to be a lot of variety, but past months have been 50% hololive/vtubers.

because it feels unfair that in every poll there seems to be a hololive character, and as a result the votes for that character skyrocket and they always win. so it makes the poll kinda feel rigged. personally i dont care but i think this is their perspective
