This Week in Seeds of Fate (Week of 10/10)

This week in Seeds of Fate a lot of icon work and creation of random swag items. But most of the time was spent working on lag. The two biggest offenders are currently the towns of Durina and Ahkra, due to the sheer number of interactables on the maps; frame rate tends to drop to the 30-50s or so from the usual 60. It was one of the major complaints about the last release so a lot of care is being put into balancing all those new features and actually having them run smoothly.

It's kind of an uphill battle and likely one of those plans that won't survive contact, but we'll have to see how it goes.

Also, a question:

What kind of skills would you guys like to see in the game?

Custom Damage means that just about anything with a variable can be a part of a damage equation now, so there's a sudden wealth of options.

I kinda gave my two cents on a 'dark', 'blood mage' type of healer, so if such a character fits somewhere on your roster, could be interesting.

Attacks (and weapons) that depend on your current/maxhp are on the table. Relationship based skills are slightly harder to do since relationships can go into negative values and that tends to break things.

Arranging party order is a mid game option that gets unlocked once you have 5 members total to choose from (not in anything playable yet). Chrono Trigger styled tag team attacks are kind of tricky to code, especially since you have to equip skills, but that's something I could probably test.

I forgot off-hand if you can arrange the order of your party. I had a thought about combo attacks where certain moves get a power or effect boost based on the next party member. Maybe as part of the cost it takes a fraction of the MP of the supporting party member?

You could have an attack that's power depends on what percent your HP is at like the less Hp you have the stronger the move is. Another one you could do is make an attack that gets stronger the better your relationship is with certain characters.

Currently no. A hunger/thirst system was considered but balancing it with healing items and the pregnancy state was next to impossible

Is a character's fullness something you track with a variable? An attack based on that could be fun.
