Big New Year: Suggestions Welcome

Okay, I think I have a general idea of how what characters I want to use for Big New Year calender that you guys were kind enough to find, and next month I'll start rolling those pictures out. Themes are kind of an issue though, I don't want to do solely American Holidays, since I'm sure at least some of you aren't from the US. and there's so many warm weather months (here anyway) that it seems like it'd be easy to take the lazy way out and do bikinis for a third of the thing. So what kind of international observances would you guys want to see in this thing that I can base pictures around?

There's Hanami ( http://goo.gl/BtJUNb ), which is celebrated in US, too ( http://goo.gl/vX4hui ). If you want to burn something then there's Beltane ( http://goo.gl/ZG0Lxv ) and Jāņi ( http://goo.gl/BGYA2U ). Given your characters you'll probably want to have at least one Chinese holiday ( http://goo.gl/NLp9ip ), e.g. Tuen Ng ( http://goo.gl/v0iTYb ) or may be New Year (THE largest holiday in China: http://goo.gl/aIhBHp ). Really, if you'll dig around a bit you'll find out that basically every single day someone celebrates something somewhere, LOL.

No necessarily a holiday, but a lot of nerd conventions happen during them summer. You could also do general vacation-type things, like theme parks (a water theme park could be a good alternative to a beach), camping, etc

Could move back to school to August (a lot of schools start back then) and put Oktoberfest in for September- it's the 19th through October 10th this year. Weird to put Oktoberfest in September, but Halloween's gotta stay in October, right? Also, at risk of pushing for American stuff, could always do 4th of July/general cookout & fireworks instead of beach for July. And New Year's of some sort for at least one January.

BitCrusader

An Australian Christmas/ New year's has never really been done well.

Day of the Dead would be a good one I think.

2 Februaries? You can do the Japan thing and have a girl giving chocolate to a guy she likes. Other than that, obscure holidays are always good for a laugh, and next year is an election year of course. Anniversaries of major events. Easter would be obvious with the rabbit/fertility connotations. Maybe an entire year dedicated to hugely pregnant/busty women having problems taking part in the traditions of a season or holiday? Maybe Fang can't go down a water slide or something.
