We’ve listened to all your suggestions for Patreon in the comments here, on Discord, and during the gaming streams and are excited to focus on a few new features and offerings on Patreon.

What new rewards would you like for us to offer? - d. - I'm a fan of MST3K from way back, so that will always be good, but share the joy - don't make it a Patreon-only thing (possibly Patreon-first?) + c. / g. movie reviews and reacts always welcome but likewise something that i would not feel precious about you putting up on YT as well (Perhaps Patreons get more involvement/ownership in choosing a movie (new or old) with shortlists and room for discussion on Patreon, with the edited -down version going on YT later?). 6. If you could add anything - Well - you did say all ideas welcome - First off, I'd echo Danssort above that Patreon's structure for organising and articulating your butt-ton of content could be seriously improved. I know its not you (the interface is just as unwieldy for others I support), but if it really helps to already know what I'm looking for and where it is, then that's not ideal for as big a big back-catalogue as yours. This next crosses a bit with 2(f) and wanders around, so please forgive me for the screed. I do mean well :) -I know the survey is designed around audience retention and the factors that will hold on to Patrons/attract new ones. I found you through YT and then moved to Patreon, and whilst I'm enjoying the exclusive content, I would not feel betrayed if more made its way onto YT. I think you need to find ways to get the two platforms to work better together for you. Over on the Discord I suggested the idea of condensed YT vids of shows that were Patreon-Only (in that case TBB) with a handful of episodes per vid or perhaps just the first/last few of a season to act as a signpost - Given YT is your biggest shop window people will mostly find you there and use it as a frame of reference for what you cover/have covered. I know studios vary in chillness re reactors and copyright etc, but I think it would really help people understand what's available. I don't know if you've considered it but I have also seen some Reactors vary the visibility of some content with the first ep of a season viewable by anyone on Patreon and subsequent ones behind a Patreon tier - or similar setups with Full Watchalongs vs Highlights. I think there is a real difference in the films vs series dynamic, and at the moment most movie-related content lives on Patreon. One of the first full-length Watchalongs I watched when I moved to Patreon was "Prey" and I really enjoyed it and liked the long-form character. I enjoyed both your appreciation for the filmmaking and your observations on it just as much as the jokes. Patreon is a great home for that kind of long-format content. At the same time I also got wondering whether it would be possible to edit this and other existing film reactions down and post them on YT with an intro explaining where the full version can be found. In the case of Prey it's a film I have seen other reactors respond to, and I've noticed that the YT algorithm tends to bunch reviews and reactions and Watchalongs of the same film together, so it could be a really good way for more people to find you. I know not every film would be suitable for this treatment. I'm also blissfully unaware of how much more editing work would be involved. But it would be a very good way to increase your visibility where the film is a popular one for reaction. Finally -thank you for your patience if you've read this far and could I also echo the other commenters above that you're providing a positive and valuable service to us all and helping keep us sane in strange times. Sincerely you are a tonic and a boon (I'll let you argue over who is which :) ).

If I can see the movie changing from scene to scene, I would be able to sync my copy so much easily. The timecodes do not always match, and I spend so much time trying to adjust so it's sync-ed. So many times you guys react to something that happens before it actually happens, and then I spend minutes trying to adjust. Please. I'm begging. On my knees, begging.

In the meantime, while it can be a bit of a hassle since I also found the answer isn’t easy to find (besides what they’ve said in videos), you can see what’s exclusive by searching on youtube and seeing if it’s there (or trying to watch it, and seeing if it’s in the cheapest, middle, or most expensive tier)

I’m considering signing up for a podcast’s Patreon where they do a once-monthly recorded Zoom session with the host and top-tier Patrons discussing topics from the podcast, and applying that to pReview’d could be a lot of fun. Understand that logistically it would take some doing, but it could be a fun, unique addition that engages the community more.

Shoutouts on the YouTube and maybe creating a channel in the discord for patron announcements (it was Jay's announcement in General Chat that alerted me to this survey.) There's a lot of content here, so it's hard for me to keep track of what I'm interested in via the Patreon notifications. 4. No. Strut your stuff :) 5. I had no idea Patreon even had a chats function, unless you mean the comments section under the vids? *correction*-I just saw the new community section, and chats is nestled there. So, maybe? 6. Honestly, I kind of love the idea of posting more of the personal/get-to-know-you- like content over here. That's my favorite part of the podcast. I really enjoy your banter/discussions/funny and serious topics you talk about during those roll-for-convos and during some of the behind the scenes posts. *edited to add* My husband had an idea several months ago for Patreon that I'll go ahead and add here. It would be neat if you offered a high level tier or some sort of option that would let a subscriber pick a TV series or a movie for you to do a watch-a-long to (something like, ~$500). Not a monthly tier, but like a 1 time thing that subscribers could pay for you to do, and you could set parameters (veto power, only do it when it's during slow times or when you have time, etc, so you don't stress. yourselves with the other content you are making). He's wanted you to do a react/watch-a-long to Midnight mass for like, a long time, and that was where this idea came from, lol. He was like, I would totally pay for them to do a watch-a-long to that! Oh, one more idea! I remember at the CrowdWork last summer, you mentioned doing watch-a-longs to more horror movies (because those reactions are fabulous). I still think that would be cool to do. Not monthly, but maybe quarterly? Lastly, just want to add that you guys (and Kimberly and Amanda, too!) are awesome. I feel like you both supported me and my husband via your YouTube content during some tough times (2020 and 2021 were rough, lol), and I love that we're able to give back and support you guys and what you do via this site :) Thanks for doing this survey!

(2) A , C , D (3) A & B (4) No, advertising for a great product is always warranted (5) Yes Please (6) Utilization of the collections feature to organize all the content. This would be good for new and old patrons alike, there's a staggering amount of content on here and I don't think the tags are really doing it anymore. For Example Gen V has 1 episode under the tag "Gen V" , another episode under the tag "W" and I believe the rest are only under "amazon". Just gets a little harder to find new, older shows I havent watched with you guys yet when I can't really sort through all the stuff.

I think the watch-a-longs and the discussions are pretty close to equal however the actual watch-alongs probably edge out the win. :) ESPECIALLY on shows I've never seen and am waiting for you to watch at the same time which is the most frustrating because I wanna binge ahead so we share that frustration as well :P The behind the scenes are just good fun but sometimes I miss them until much later when I come back and binge a few to catch up :) 2. As far as rewards: c. Movie watch-a-longs are one of the things I'd love to see the most but it depends on the movie. There has to be discovery or some great secret, emotional moments, etc... things that really draw out a great reaction but it's hard to really know that's what you're gonna get without it giving hints/foreknowledge but it's worth it. :) g/f. This one is very subjective to me but I'm sure others would love it as well but it would be REALLY tricky... I am dying to see vlogs/discussions about how you got started, the process you use to decide what to cut and what to keep... the programs, and the system you use when dealing with YouTube/Vimeo. As someone who tried to get into this kind of thing years ago but got overwhelmed by trying to do too much too fast, but am trying to get back into it with my niece now that she's a bit older. Kind of a Gen X vs Gen Alpha and the differences in how we see these things and what matters in the movies to us... etc... but I get overwhelmed with the editing because I'm trying to learn as I go. So really any advice that's not the same old stale generic advice you find everywhere or even resources/links/etc would be amazing... and I know I can't be the only one who would LOVE that kind of thing. d. I haven't seen the Rebel Moon one yet, but I grew up on MST3K like you both did if I understand your references in other videos and I am SUCH a fan of the idea of just watching horrible movies and finding the joy in shared schadenfreude. :) Hell I was a part of Transvestite Soup, in Minneapolis a group that did the live performances in front of Rocky Horror ages ago... so I love making a bad movie into something amazing! 3. The Previewd home page posts that show up with the other video announcements is definitely the best for initial attention-getting, then you could link to the chat or discord conversation about the post to avoid spamming the announcements of course. I watch SOME of the Youtube videos and putting an announcement there as well is always good but I'd miss almost all of them because I almost always watch them here. 4. Not at all. :) I love it! 5. I admit I have never even looked at the chats channel on any Patreon I'm a member of unless I happened to click on a link for one and didn't realize... I should probably start doing that. :) 6. I feel strange offering "adding things" When I enjoy the content so much and it's already so... YOU GUYS... :) I suppose if I were to suggest anything, simply based on what I enjoy on other creators sites that I think would vibe with your style it would be every once in a while having reactions with your partners or even one of you with your partner watching something that maybe wouldn't appeal to both of you... This is mostly because I only use discord with people I know in real life because I have a hard time not getting overwhelmed by large discord channels. I’d like to know more about your pasts and how you got to here. Been watching for years and I’m surprisingly invested. I’d also like to see videos of Jay making Adam try stuff, I believe there is a world of untapped humor there. 3. What type of Communication do you feel is most effective on Patreon? If you are trying to reach Patreon subscribers, then posts work well. However I’d say the most convincing thing about you guys is when you talk to the folks. Making a video message instead of written words sinks in more. 4. Have you ever felt like you’ve received too much communication from us about Patreon offerings? Sure, I remember the before time, in the long long ago where you’d have 5 minutes at the beginning of every video talking about all the stuff you got going on. This now is much better. (they are currently only on Discord) I mean, there could be some who are on Patreon but not the discord, so it makes sense to blanket the socials with your upcomings, even the chat. Announce a contest/challenge on Friday on youtube for Patreon members, entries in by Monday, announce the Patreon of the Week winner on Wednesday’s youtube release with winning entry. It draws people to patreon from youtube, allows you to tease the upcoming contest driving engagement, and people will tune in to find out the winnners. You will probably turn up winners from the discord or twitch that you can actually talk a little about. You can source contest ideas from discord in a way that people won’t see other’s suggestions (pm’s?). You will tie together Youtube, Patreon and Discord audiences and drive people to all three. “Hey guys, Happy Friday everyone. Todays contest is suggested from the sick twisted mind of none other than ________. Thanks for the suggestion, we are both delighted and disturbed. But when considering subbing for exclusive patreon content a problem I ran into was it being very unclear what content is exclusive to your patreon. I know there are the uncut reactions, but in terms of exclusive series or movies, I have no idea.

Getting stuff earlier is awesome when you’re able to do that. •I don’t always have time to check out the YouTube version so sometimes I miss the funny edits and stuff that’s added to it that’s not in the patreon version. I know that would all take more time so I understand if it’s not possible. •Can we have some bits with HR Greg? It’s common across other Patreons, could be a fun chat space or idea hub for the Illuminati 3. B: I have the Patreon app on my phone and use it (in addition to Discord) for communications from you all, but Patreon notifications specifically are clutch 4. No; one callout at the top of each video makes sense for casual viewers. However, if you want to view Discord as a funnel for Patreon, that pathway may be underutilized… 5. No, because I actively use Discord in addition to Patreon (indeed I suspect many Patrons are already in the Discord, but that’s just a hunch). It would be a duplicate notification, for me. Maybe the equation changes, though, if more items will be Patreon-exclusive in the future. 6. n/a

I should take more advantage of being a patron lol But being busy I struggle enough as it is to consume the you tube content lol. My fave part is knowing that my somewhat drop in the ocean contribution allows you guys to make quality (and it IS. Don't you dare sell yourselves short my dudes) content. It makes me happy knowing my two favourite Internet chaps are living their best lives producing funny nerdy geek videos about shit I like. So that's my favourite part. 2. What new rewards would you like for us to offer? D and G A small series about Axe care and how to look after your Blades ? I would have LOVED a small reaction to the recent Bluey kids show episode drops. The fan base has gone MENTAL lmfao. Your reactions would have been golden. Possibly reactions to some UK based TV series or films. Older stuff though that you might not have seen. We.....err....created a lot of crazy shit on this small island lol. 3. 2024-04-25 21:36:20 +0000 UTC1.) when i was apart of your tiers it was just to support you guys, but watch alongs were probably best thing imo 2.) c.g. f. i would do like patron anime day that you do anime reviews/watch alongs that you dont have on your youtube..not sure if you have the bandwidth for it though..also im not talking about the anime with 1000+ episodes more so ones with maybe 20 to 30 like new one like fieren, or older ones like samurai champloo etc, do like patreon suggestions polls of ones to watch, i think it would get people to join more and feel engaged....another one would be maybe patreon game nights where you choose a game that can have many players and all game together etc 3.) Full watch along of the first episode of every series at the free tier, drop full reaction a day ahead if possible for paid tiers like with some of the fallout being shot all together a couple of times we did get a reaction a day ahead.

The Rebel Moon reaction was awesome, so more of that would be fun. 3) b. 4) no. (outside of Operation Firehose, but that was exceptional circumstances). 5) it might be useful? Depends how many Patreons don’t use Discord?
