I'm just going to keep assuming the lady in the car might end up being a pseudo mentor turned villain of the series. I think all she wants is the bangle that she may see as rightfully hers if she is in fact part of a secret family as another commenter suggested, or even just related to another sibling or cousin of the great grandma. It only makes sense that the antagonists be introduced with the first 2 episodes of a short series
