Warm Up Sketch/Happenings Update!

Hey guys!

I want to apologize for the pause in content over the weekend. I was in Detroit for Webcomicon! I wish I could adequately express to y'all just how incredibly transformative this convention was. I met and chatted with so many of our favorites in the webcomic community including Shen, Sarah Anderson of Sarah's Scribbles, Nathan Pyle of Strange Planet, Zach of Extra Fabulous, Kim of Red Dot, Fran of Tiff & Eve (who I stuck with the entire convention, what an incredible lady), Nicholas of Perry Bible Fellowship, Ryan Rds., Ryan of ADHD Dinos, Goose of Portuguese Geese, and SO many more.

I never could have imagined I would ever have the opportunity to mingle with and learn from the people I have admired for years, since before I became Hollering Elk. And pretty much everybody there was aware of and have read a bunch of my work. It was positively bewildering. I also was lucky enough to have a one on one with Sarah, who gave me a ton of incredible advice about transitioning from conventional webcomics to graphic novels in the future. She was so incredibly sweet, and I am so grateful she took the time to help me reframe my outlook on the future of Hollering Elk Comics. I also had the opportunity to chat a great deal with Nathan about the nuances of the industry, cutting up a bit with Shen, and sharing brewskies with the one and only Goose!

Simply a transcendent experience. My heart is so full.

To the fans and patrons here who made it out to the convention to meet me, thank you so, so much. Meeting y'all in person was such an incredible joy, y'all are such sweeties. Even the other artists were amazed at how many fans of Hollering Elk showed up. I am so blessed to have such a rock solid base of fans. Y'all made this venture all the more beautiful, and your Hollering Elk Security shirts were a big subject at the after party, haha. I'm still processing this event, and I am absolutely exhausted, but I am back on the grind today! I've said it a million times by now, but my appreciation for y'all here on Patreon is insurmountable. I need y'all to know literally none of this would have been possible without you. I'm simply beside myself with love for all of you here, those who made it to the convention, and for every artist who took the time to offer guidance for the future of my work.

That was all pretty ramble, but really, holy shit. What an incredible week. I am feeling reenergized, and ready to jump back into the series. I also see I have quite a few messages building up in my inbox here. Give me a bit, and I shall get back to y'all! Thank you again, everybody, I love you deerly!
