King in Marvel- CH-122. Sharon Carter

"Idiot!"

Looking at the roaring Arclight, Michael twisted his wrist, and her voice abruptly stopped as her head slumped forward.

Michael glanced at Arclight's lifeless body on the ground, feeling a sense of dissatisfaction. It wasn't due to the complications or Magneto's sudden interference, but rather because encountering someone as unpleasant as Arclight had ruined his mood.

"System, is the mission completed?" Michael asked.

[If the main world mission is completed, there will be a prompt!]

Michael nodded. Since he hadn't received the prompt, it meant the mission wasn't finished. Initially, it had only involved the Winter Soldier, but now mutants like Arclight and Callisto had intervened to rescue him. There might even be others coming after Nick Fury.

"It's becoming more and more interesting. I originally thought this was a straightforward mission, but now it seems far from easy." Michael muttered to himself as he located Nick Fury's position.

Nick Fury, true to his reputation as the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., had managed to escape successfully after parting ways with Michael. He had taken a long detour, abandoned his car, and made his way to the apartment of Captain America, Steve Rogers.

It was the only option. The only person Nick Fury could trust now was Captain America. At least Steve would never harm him—he couldn't possibly be a member of Hydra!

Michael didn't chase after Callisto. His priority was ensuring the mission's completion. He could always track down Callisto or the Winter Soldier later. Besides, he was prepared to face Magneto if necessary. For now, Michael found himself standing outside Captain America's apartment building.

He was curious about who else might come to kill Nick Fury. In the original timeline, it had been the Winter Soldier, leading to the first encounter between him and Captain America. Michael remembered the iconic scene where Steve threw his shield, only for the Winter Soldier to catch it—a moment that symbolized the Winter Soldier potentially taking up the mantle of Captain America.

But now, with the Winter Soldier out of the picture, who would take his place?

"Excuse me, please move aside."

A voice came from behind. Michael stepped aside and turned to see a woman wearing a white T-shirt and holding a laundry basket. She smiled at him gratefully and said, "I haven't seen you around before. Are you looking for someone?"

"I'm Chinese." Michael replied with a smile.

"Ah, Hello." She said.

"Hello." Michael remarked, surprised.

She smiled shyly, "I don't know much—just a few words. My name is Sharon Carter. I live here. Is there anything I can help you with?"

"My name is Michael. If possible, could I visit your apartment? I'm here to see Steve, but he might not be back yet." Michael said, making what seemed like an abrupt request.

Sharon hesitated, "You're Steve's friend? Okay, then."

"Thank you." Michael said, following her upstairs.

As he walked behind Sharon, a slight smile played on his lips. Sharon Carter—Peggy Carter's niece, S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 13—had been assigned to monitor Captain America after his recent awakening from the ice. She was an elite agent, skilled in combat and fluent in multiple languages.

Most notably, in the comics, she had been hypnotized and shot Captain America, leading to his temporary death. Though he was later revived, Sharon remained an important character.

After dealing with the shamatte and non-mainstream styles of Arclight and Callisto, Michael found Sharon's presence refreshing—almost purifying.

'Maybe Natasha is right. My collecting addiction is getting out of hand.' Michael thought, feeling tempted despite knowing her true identity.

'Why is he staring at me? Does he know who I am?' Sharon wondered as she unlocked her apartment door. Even without looking directly, she could feel his intense gaze.

She opened the door and said, "Please come in. The place is a bit messy—I haven't had much time to tidy up with work being so busy."

"Not at all. I should thank you for inviting me in." Michael said with a smile.

The apartment was simple but far from messy—it was actually quite clean.

"Please, sit anywhere. I'll just put these things away." Sharon said, heading into the bedroom.

Michael sat on the sofa and quietly activated his super hearing. Soon, he could detect the breathing and heartbeat coming from Steve's apartment next door.

'Probably Nick Fury.'

It was a smart move for Fury to seek out Steve. At this point, there weren't many people he could trust. Michael wasn't in a hurry to intervene. In fact, he had no intention of showing up unless absolutely necessary.

Rather than dealing with Nick Fury and having to explain himself, Michael preferred staying here with Sharon. Even if someone came to kill Fury, Michael would still have time to act.

"I'll pour you some water." Sharon said as she returned, filling a glass for Michael before sitting down beside him.

"Thank you." Michael said, taking a sip. He then asked casually, "What do you do for a living? Are you usually busy?"

"I'm a nurse."

"An angel in white." Michael said with a smile, "You're so beautiful—there must be a lot of people pursuing you, right?"

"Not really. I'm so busy with work that I don't have time for that. Besides, I haven't really thought about it. Work is more important to me right now." Sharon replied, shaking her head with a smile.

"Work is important, but so is love. Even agents and superheroes need to fall in love." Michael said, leaning slightly closer, "How about considering me?"

"Ah? You're joking. That's too sudden." Sharon said, caught off guard.

"Is it really that sudden?"

"Yes, we've just met. We don't even know each other." Sharon explained, her tone awkward.

Michael smiled and shook his head, looking at her meaningfully, "Maybe this is our first meeting, but it's not like we don't know each other. I think... you've probably heard about me and know something about my situation, right?"

Sharon froze, 'What did he mean by that?'

Sharon felt a wave of panic as she looked at Michael's half-smile. Did he know her true identity? That shouldn't be possible!

Her identity was highly classified, and she hadn't undertaken many high-profile missions for S.H.I.E.L.D. She wasn't a well-known agent—how could he possibly know?

And then there was the information she had about Michael. His origins were mysterious, he could devour others' abilities, and he possessed unknown powers. He had absorbed the abilities of John the Fire Man and the Human Torch from the Fantastic Four, leaving the latter depressed and desperate to regain his powers.

Beyond that, there were rumors about his love life. It was said... he had many women.

And now, it seemed he was interested in her?

"I don't understand what you mean." Sharon said, maintaining her composure.

Michael smiled, "I thought Steve might have mentioned me to you. It seems I was mistaken."

"Oh, no. Steve and I are just neighbors." Sharon replied, breathing a sigh of relief.
