But this battleship did not have any remote assistance; everything was controlled by Martin himself. He simply placed his hand on the control panel and handled it all.

"You can go and rest. Why are you staying here all the time?" Martin said to them.

"We want to wait for news." One of them replied while operating the battleship's communication system.

However, this time it was different—he no longer had operating authority. Martin granted him permission to use the communication system, but only for contacting the Nova Corps. Martin himself might need to communicate with them in the future, so he added their contact information.

"Hurry up, I still have things to do." Martin said, becoming a little impatient. The longer Raven stayed with Camilla and her daughter, the more reluctant she was to part with them. If Raven really wanted to keep them, Martin didn't know how he could refuse.

"I should avoid troublesome situations like this in the future." Martin thought silently. Not only did it bring no benefit, but it was also a waste of his time.

Playing around in the universe and returning home sooner seemed more appealing. It had been almost a month since he had left, and Martin, who loved being home, was starting to feel the urge to go back—especially during this boring waiting period.

Leaving the control room, he went to the captain's bedroom on the upper floor. It was the largest bedroom on the entire battleship, and it would be Martin's room in the future.

When Martin arrived, Raven was already there. The room had been cleaned by Martin, and it looked like Raven had just taken a shower. She was sitting on the sofa with wet hair, sipping a glass of wine.

"I thought you were still there." Martin said as he walked over and sat next to Raven. He placed his hands on her damp hair, and as energy flowed from him, Raven's hair quickly dried.

Raven found a comfortable position and leaned into Martin's arms, looking slightly lost, "I just chatted for a bit; I can't stay there forever."

Martin hugged Raven and suddenly suggested, "How about we adopt a child?"

"Camilla?" Raven asked in surprise.

"No, no, Raven. She has a family."

"True."

"Haha, you like her that much?" Martin asked, kissing Raven on the top of her head.

"Yeah, she's such a sweet little girl. Don't you like her?"

"Of course, I do. But she doesn't belong to us. If it were anything else, I'd get it for you if you wanted it. But she's a child with her own family."

"Yeah, I know." Raven said softly. After a moment of silence, she asked in a low voice, "Is it really true that we can't have children?"

It might be the price of their power.

"Well..."

Raven suddenly felt something entering her body through Martin's hand. She groaned in discomfort, "Honey, what are you doing?"

"I'm trying to increase your strength. Maybe if the gap between us narrows a bit, the chances of pregnancy will improve."

The last time Martin strengthened someone's abilities, he had only been at the planetary level. Now, after using the power of Apocalypse to enhance Raven again...

Raven checked herself, but there were no new abilities. Instead, her original ones had only gotten marginally stronger.

Martin's most powerful ability now was the Phoenix Force, not his mutant powers. And Raven had no capacity to wield energy. Martin tried to leave some of his energy in her body, but it quickly dissipated. Even the Phoenix Force didn't work.

Her shapeshifting ability, while convenient among ordinary people, had its limits at higher levels. Martin frowned, disappointed that his attempt hadn't achieved the desired result.

Considering this, it seemed that Raven, Wendy, and Yuriko would have a hard time becoming stronger. At least Jean had the Phoenix Force like him, and Emma had her psychic powers.

At that moment, Martin thought of another possibility: magic. Magic could be learned.

"It's okay, dear." Raven comforted him, "There's nothing we can do. As you said, we can adopt a child when we get back. Then we'll have our own family."

"Alright."

Raven smiled and teased, "Although the chances are small, do you want to try harder? No matter what happens, I enjoy the process."

"I like it too." Martin replied.

Who wouldn't enjoy that process?

"Carry me over…"

A few hours later, a group of people appeared on Martin's battleship, led by a strong man.

"Mr. Horn, thank you very much for rescuing the members of the Legion. On behalf of the Nova Corps, I would like to express our gratitude."

"Well… if you really want to thank me, be kind to this mother and daughter." Martin said, standing beside Raven.

"Rest assured, the Legion will not harm them. However, due to the circumstances, they need to be investigated. I believe you understand. They will stay on Xandar for now."

"Yes."

If one of Martin's own people suddenly ran off with their family, he'd investigate too. It was one of the reasons he disliked involving outsiders.

Under Raven's reluctant gaze, the mother and daughter were taken aboard the Nova Corps' spaceship. The leader bid farewell to Martin and departed.

"Alright, don't dwell on it. We already talked this through." Martin said.

"Yeah…"

Martin shook his head slightly. Raven was a sensitive person, and there wasn't much he could do except let time heal her feelings. She hadn't been affected by children before, but meeting Camilla had stirred something inside her.

Turning to the two remaining golden men, Martin said, "There's nothing left to do here. If you're ready, let's head to Sovereign now."

The two nodded.

With that, Martin gave the command to the spacecraft, which flew toward the planet Sovereign.

Sovereign was located in the same galaxy, so they didn't need a space jump. While using the Shapely would have taken several hours, with the Phoenix 1, the trip would be much faster.

Along the way, Martin sat in the control seat. Raven, seated beside him, seemed deep in thought before asking, "Honey, do you think we should adopt a boy or a girl?"

"Huh? You're thinking about this now?"

"Yes, what else would I think about?" Raven responded as if it were obvious.

"Uh…haha."

Martin chuckled awkwardly. He had misunderstood, thinking Raven had been dwelling on Camilla.

"It depends on fate. If we meet a child who's suitable and you like them, we can adopt. There's no need to worry about gender or race."

"Yeah, that's true. But I still…"

Raven continued talking, becoming more and more excited, as though they could adopt a child any minute.

Martin smiled as he listened. As long as Raven was happy, nothing else mattered.

Meanwhile, the two golden men and women sat quietly at the back. Being artificially bred, they didn't understand anything Martin and Raven were discussing.
