Update #93 There was always a title here

This is Major Gary to ground control.

Not a military grade type major mind you, it's just that I'm more important than other Gary's. Well, maybe not Gary Oldman. That's gotta be a tough last name to have throughout your school years. I bet someone sang YMCA to him with just slightly changed lyrics. I mean, that's what I would've done.

Almost done with scene 8, should finish it tomorrow. I really don't know how my scenes work, like this one was longer than scenes 6 & 7 put together. Ah well, as long as the next scene is an easy one. Let me check. Oh. It's that scene. Shouldn't be too bad. But sometimes I wonder what the fuck I was on when I wrote something. Knowing that the answer is "nothing but caffeine" only serves to deepen my confusion.

The nice part about reading my own things back is that everything is written with my type of humor, so I manage to frequently make myself laugh. Especially since my memory is a bit so-so, which means I've already forgotten that I made the joke. Some day I'll develop Alzheimer's, and I'll have made the perfect catalog of works for myself to enjoy. Or I'll just fucking hate it, who knows?

Started reading The Name of the Wind recently. There's just about two things that are constant when people speak of that series, one is that the prose is fantastic, and the other is that they're very upset about the overdue birth of the third book.

Given how much emphasis people put on the prose I kind of expected some real purple stuff in there. Instead I got a book that just swallowed me whole, like I'm just inside of it after reading about a page. Now that's some fantastic writing alright. We'll see if I like it all the way through, but so far it's looking like an S-tier book.

And as far as the third book goes... To be honest, I've started more series than I've finished. I will drop any and all series the moment they start feeling like a slog to get through. I've gotten hundreds of chapters into countless Xianxia and Wuxia webnovels. Yet I've only ever finished one, and it wasn't worth the effort. The ending was alright, but I got no more out of it compared to just stopping two hundred chapters earlier. So yeah, I don't really mind if a series never finishes, though I recognize I'm probably in the minority there.

I only now noticed that Zavvy's elbow is a bit... wonky in that third pciture. Ugh, some weird shit happened with the joints on pretty much every character that I loaded into this scene. Didn't notice that it happened to her as well until now. Welp, it is what it is. Sometimes the wonk is simply too strong.

Anyway, that's about everything I had for you today.
