Poll #13 There's a disturbance in the force...

A discord, if you will.

Yeah, I've been thinking about making a Discord for a while. I don't have any experience doing so, I really only use Discord to chat with friends on occasion.

Anyway, every cool dev seems to have one, and I want to be cool as well. Never let it be said that I'm above peer pressure.

I'm not even sure what to post in such a Discord channel since I haven't joined anyone else's. But I'm sure we can figure something out.

So the question is, are you guys interested? And if so, should it be public or restricted to Patreon?

For once I'll let Pointy Ear Enjoyers vote as well, since that's probably the tier I'd put Discord access behind. If it's to be behind a tier at all, that is. Or exist at all.

I'd like to think that I have decently thick skin. Mostly a result of only ever having jobs that deal directly with people/customers. That said, I'm certainly not immune to getting mad about stupid things online. I wish I was, and I'm sure most people do. I do appreciate the sentiment behind the warnings though. I don't really know what I expect out of this, guess we'll see. And yeah, I've seen people deciding to cut themselves off from all interaction with other people and just hard focus on their project itself. Gotta prioritize your own mental health. I do hope I never reach that point. PS. I would never steal things. Especially not the idea to have a feedback channel in Discord. Nope. Not me.

I'll also echo the warnings of entitled or just unmotivated people asking about updates. Or informing you the game would be better if instead of our beloved Donkey we played as Ruru. Honestly while it can be bothersome, I do think it's worth having a place for people to generally chat and post horny posts around the game. Having a patreon suggestion or feedback channel can also be a great way to spitball ideas that you don't feel warrant a patreon post. Or to steal peoples ideas and pretend that was the plan all along, like when I GM and my players give me all the best ways to torment their characters. Just don't be disheartened if it doesn't pick up or hyperfocus on the community around the game over the game itself. I've seen both of those happen to passion projects before, put the devs in a funk for a while.

Yeah, I think you're right. I'll probably be looking into fisty's suggestion of having both a public channel and a member only channel in the Discord.

Sir Gary Bummer

I would like a public discord patreon members arent exactly chatty so I dont think making it public would make it a tornado of messages.
