Update #27 Happy new year!

Bit early on wishing you all a happy new year, but this is update day and I'm a creature of habit. Still working on the script, some scenes have gotten a bit wordy so I think for the first time I'm going to have to make a second draft. I don't want to smack players in the face with walls of text, so trimming the fat is the name of the game.

This is mostly because I'm trying a bit harder with some story stuff. I need to find a good balance, though. The tone of the game is quite silly after all, so trying too hard is likely to kill the charm. Once upon a time I realized that my high effort cover letters (for job applications), that I tried to make professional and stuff, where always ignored. The one's where I put literally no effort in and just wrote whatever popped in my head? Those got me a lot of interviews.

My theory is that people enjoy reading stuff that's more organic, stuff with a voice, stuff that reads like it was written by an actual human being. So that's something I try to do both in the game, and in these updates. And by "try to do", I mean that I try less. A bit counterintuitive, but that's how I roll baby!

Anyway, next episode will feature the gang going into a dungeon. Some of them will need some alternate outfits, so I'm thinking of doing some polls for those. We'll see exactly how that goes, because there obviously needs to be more than one alternative that actually looks good for there to be any point.

I should be finishing this first draft during the coming week. Banging out the second draft after that ought to be swift business. 

I was thinking of doing a New Year's resolution here, but as I've said before, I start under-performing when I put too much pressure on myself. So I'm thinking a simple "I vow to keep putting the same amount of effort into the game as I have for the last few months" is pretty good. If I do that for the entire year, and improve at the same rate, I'll be a freaking God this time next year. Actually, yeah. That's my New Year's resolution. I shall ascend and acquire Godhood.
