Pics 61: Secret meeting in the Top Club

Taking a break from the remastered game, I thought I'd do some pics of the week on the recent update of Ariane in Paradise.

These pictures come from one of two epilogues that unlock after getting all the achievements in Ariane in Paradise.  I actually made this epilogue very early in the development, when I was still working on Day 1, but as far as I can tell I never talked about it much.

The purpose of this scene has always been to bring the story back to "Something's In The Air" since the entirety of the game was on a remote island.  For players of Ariane in Paradise who are not familiar with SITA, the point of this scene is completely lost.

For those that did, there are two surprised in the scene.  1. Veronica, the woman who was struck by lightning, is still alive but with a prosthetic robot arm (the old pic was a human arm dyed chrome, I substituted the robot arm from Hopepunk City in this update.)  2. Ariane's mom who only appeared briefly in Rachel Meets Ariane, is suddenly heir to a mult-billion dollar real estate empire.

It was supposed to end there. A couple of ironic reveals and then I would never reference this scene again.  Of course that is not how it worked out. The reveal of the robot arm was just supposed to be a hint that the next game would be sci-fi, like an end credit scene of a Marvel movie.

What happened was Hopepunk City, where all four of these women make up the leadership of Artema.  So when I was looking at images to update in AiP, these were suddenly more important, so I took my time and did them right.

Speaking of which, I decided to update the last picture of the "Rachel's Photos" epilogue which used to be Ariane crashing on her DA "red" house couch, and make it the DAR "teal" house couch.

So with one slight change to one obscure picture, Ariane in Paradise is officially a sequel to Date Ariane Remastered.
