The full Ariane in Paradise Beta is ready to be tested!

My plan was to not release this until November, because that was how long I thought it would take, but I had some free time the last two weeks and went ahead and finished it, and decided Why wait?

This is the complete game.  All 3 days, 40 achievements, all the locations and story and choices completed.  It comes in at around 400 MB for the HD version (which this is).

The full game is way too big to be hosted on Patreon, so these are links to Mediafire.  I apologize in advance for all the ads.  In the upper right corner where it asks for password, type the word "fishtaco" with no quotes, no spaces, and no capitalization then click "Unlock File" and it should start downloading.  Do not download anything else it prompts you to download.

Please don't give links and passwords to others.  I'll be monitoring the download counts, and changing passwords when needed.  I have a second security system in place that involves posting an incomplete game, that needs a "patch", which is less convenient, so I don't want to use it unless I have to.

Note: This version once again changes the name of the program, so old saved games will not show up.  You could take the saved games from ArianeInParadiseBeta/game/saves and copy them to ArianeInParadise-0.9/game/saves and they should work.

However, this new version implements a new Achievement system that didn't exist before, and you will need to start over to take advantage of it.

This is the latest version 0.92 so no need to download the patch if you downloaded this version.

Yeah, the time when Ariane says it without Rachel being present is the one I specifically didn't like. "I love her, but not sexually," works great. "I love her, but she's asexual" feels out of place at that point in the discussion. If Ariane and the PC were having a deep conversation about Ariane's love life because she was having trouble and looking for help, maybe. But this isn't that kind of scene (nor is such a scene really necessary). So simplifying it seems like the right way to go. -T

Thanks a lot Tlaero. Rachel's sexuality was something revealed in "Rachel Meets Ariane", and she was even unaware until then (so after SITA). This is actually something many asexuals experience as well. This is mentioned three places in the game, twice by Rachel herself, and once by Ariane without Rachel present, which I agree feels wrong and needs to be rewritten. The player character only needs to understand that Ariane and Rachel are a little more than friends, but it is an open relationship. No need to get more technical than that. I also like your idea of giving more hints about Day 1 and Day 2 failures. I'll probably make those changes before I officially call it version 1.0.

Hi Ari, Tlaero here. This is a wonderful game that lives up to the legacy of VDA and SITA. It's complex, challenging, fun, and very sexy. You are a master of making non-linear games with a ton of content that are fun to replay and explore. Your games have always inspired me, and this one is no exception. There are even some game mechanics that harken back to VDA (ie choosing which kind of drink at the beginning, and the dinner on the yacht) and add a bit of a nostalgia factor. I liked the story and I loved the humor. (OMG, the red glow on the log!) You know how much I adore your previous games. (I HOPE you know...) This one surpassed them in a critical aspect--it's romantic. The other games were, "Meet a girl and convince her to have sex with you." This one, at least in the way I ended Day 3, was much more emotionally powerful than that. Well done. Very well done. So far I've played day 1 a ton of times and days 2 and 3 one time. I was playing, not beta testing, so I wasn't looking for bugs, but I also didn't see any. It seems really solid. (I think I saw a place with a "your" where you meant "you're" but nothing significant.) I'm a bit torn on the visual style of having the text in various places on the screen. I liked it at first but did start to get eyestrain looking all around the screen. (Of course, it was also getting pretty late by the time I came up for air.) It took me a while to understand the real criteria for getting through day 1. I think you should give a small hint in the day 1 failure screen to nudge people in the right direction. Words to the effect of, "You should get to know Ariane better." The only thing I actively didn't like about the game was the part where Ariane says that Rachel is asexual. That feels wrong since we had sex with her in SITA. I don't think you should go into the whole explanation of the last Rachel and Ariane story, so it feels like you'd be better off not trying to mention it at all. But that's just me. (I've edited this a few times because I'm not explaining myself very well. Sorry.) Congratulations on another genre-defining game. There are non-linear, high repetition stat builders and there are mostly-linear story games. Yours are some of the few that take the best parts from both of those game types and end up being non-linear stories. Thank you for everything you do. -T

Many thanks for the walkthrough. If possible please consider adding another good ending coz the current special ending really broke my heart.

The problem with having early access to a game is that the walkthroughs haven't been written yet. I'll write some "day 1" walkthroughs this weekend. 1. Best route through the opening pool segment. 2. Day 1 achievements: Nude Sunbathing, Sex With Tassiana, Store Nudity, Topless with Rachel. Then later I'll work through the rest of the achievements and paths.

Ariane Barnes

I loved the game. But it would be really helpful to have a walkthrough. The game is difficult and I have already played it 20-30 times. Please understand that not everyone has time to play this beautiful game again and again.

Shrim

Yes, it's a reward for all the achievements. It's nothing special, no nudity or anything, just sort of like an end credits bonus scene.

Ariane Barnes

It makes sense - day 1 you're trying to impress the girl you just met, day 2 you really get to know each other, by day 3 you're just enjoying doing some (admittedly unusual) fun stuff together now that you're acquainted. I am curious - I noticed there's an "epilogue" - does that require getting all the achievements, or have I just not hit the right path to see it yet?

The difficulty was by design. Day2 is supposed to be like after differ activities in Date Ariane where you solve puzzles. In DA if you mess up a puzzle it risks a good ending. I decided for AiP completing a puzzle = more charm points, failing = less. Day 3 doesn't really have any puzzles, just 3 paths that are partially dependent on previous days choices, with two possible endings for each path dependent on new choices. I figured that was enough.

Ariane Barnes

Thanks for your effort in finishing the game so soon.

I enjoyed the game. I found day 1 to be the most challenging, and day 3 the least. (Although I enjoyed the day 3 story line more). I wish there were more animations, and wish the sex scenes were more interactive, as in the original DateAriane game.
