"optional" belt guard, Really? It makes me shiver when I picture my thumb between the belt and the pulley.

Deino

Holy hell, this saw gives you multiple ways to maim yourself...

Joseph Brzezinski

Kenny Loggins approves!

Seems like no hands should be anywhere near this weapon.

Wow! That's awesome! These bearings are still good!

Hand Tool Rescue

My dad worked at Timken for 46 years. I was there for 10. They were founded in 1899. They invented the Tapered Roller Bearing.

"perfect halloween murder tool" I'll drink to that.

Thanks for making this video on a tool that I remember seeing in the 1950's, at a lumberyard in my home town. At the time it was state of the art. The lumberyard owner was bragging it up as something that would change the world. Later my dad said that that saw would end up hurting someone. Sure enough, a yard worker took off his thumb with it a few months later.

Singularly the best value Patreon I subscribe to. A narrated video EVERY time. Diresta eat your heart out

Louis Ross

Haha, they are neat and have been around for a very long time!

Hand Tool Rescue

This is amazing! I'll add it to the video description.

Hand Tool Rescue

Hmmmmmmm....could be a good idea!

Hand Tool Rescue

Hahaha, glad you liked that part! I want to do more acid etching in the future.

Hand Tool Rescue

It's only unsafe if you turn it on!

Hand Tool Rescue

So much of his hurts my brain.

All the cool kids have a Weltrekord Ratchet Screwdriver.

Goose Gosselin

Where is Vincent Price?? Where does the mill worker get attached to the table as the pendulum swings... ever closer?

Looks like it would be excellent for sawing up political signs in a few weeks.

For what it's worth, I went looking on Google to find photos of how one of these would be mounted in a sawmill, and the second page listed under "swing saw" was the OSHA safety page: https://www.osha.gov/SLTC/etools/woodworking/swing_cutoff.html. It does have some good advice about how to use this safely -- namely, treat it like a propeller and don't stand in the plane of action.

Great stuff as always and super cool to see Minnesota represented! We like the daaaaaannnngerrr!

The Wire Wheel is Dead! Long Live the Wire Wheel!

Brian Myers

Someone similar to the guy that first attached teeth to a bicycle chain, wrapped it lengthwise around a bar, stuck it on a gas engine & sells it to people?

Scott Miller

Insane!

Stephen Boots

Who puts a giant spinning wheel of death on a swing and sells it to people??

Eric, shirt idea: DANGER! GIZMOSITY! RUST! Just big block letters on the front lol.

HeavyJeffD

Mohel services.

Hand Tool Rescue

I gotta know. What do you do with all these crazy contraptions?

Micah winters

I'm to scared to watch😮

Don H.

Nice work

OK——-I do like your voice 🥰

Janet Dupree

Eric, you definitely set the pace on professional restorations - loved how you recreated the brass horseshoe angle indicator!👍🏼. On the entertainment side, my new favorite film element is the Gregorian changing of the wire wheel. We were all deeply moved!!!

Marc McKenzie

Anyway, nice job! Reminds me of my dad’s old safety-free workshop. Lots of unprotected blades and belts. But here I am typing!

Old Crow Bourbon

My uncle, Ted “Splitnose” Sawyer, used to have one of those.

Old Crow Bourbon

Sketchy, super sketchy! Lol that spring would do nothing if that saw wanted a piece of you. Great job as always!

Zach Frjelich

That’s one crazy saw... lol 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
