from what I've gathered as someone who only read to the snow elves, mr dad man goal is to stop his son? the catastrophe sounds like jinwoo to me, how he devours and re uses threats, how monsters perceive him. i think our protag is the bad guy rofl

Yeah, I meant 10 years in "real world time" if you see what I mean. I couldn't remember the ratio but in the previous episodes our party was in the ice elf's world for several days but outside the dungeon gate only a few hours passed. It was still the same day, right? For 10 years to have passed in outside world, he must have been in there for a really long time! I wonder if he's been levelling up, too, all that time. He's really strong to have taken out an S Class in a second... or really clever. I think he's come back to stop his son!

I’m personally a little disappointed in some of the stuff being left out. The little interactions between the shadow soldiers and Jinwoo after the battles. Them collecting “treasures” to bring to him showing more of their personalities. The more in depth conversation between IL-HWAH and Hwang Dongsoo. I would definitely recommend whoever’s just watching the Anime, to go and read the Manhwa because it’s definitely really good/worth it, and if you don’t want to go ahead of it, just read whatever chapters are being animated.

As an anime only, I feel like you all freaking out about their comment was more of a spoiler than the comment itself. Shadow Monarch is Jinwoo’s job title. He earned it at the end of last season. He was a necromancer then upgraded to Monarch, which means ruler, so why wouldn’t an undead dungeon subboss fear their ruler? Saying it’s a spoiler makes me think there is more to those things that doesn’t fit into the current available show logic.

The pacing is very quick, its right around 5 chapters per episode. This signals to me they are trying to get to a certain point by the end of this season and I’m glad the pacing is not being dragged out. If it’s going to end where I think it will, this season ending will be hype.

I assume the Americans are thinking Mr Jung could be a magical beast because they found him inside a dungeon. You just don’t find humans inside dungeons unless they’ve entered the gate as part of a party. The idea that he entered a gate in another part of the world, got lost for 10 years and came out of a gate in America is unprecedented. From what we’ve seen a gate opens, people enter the gate and find themselves in a dungeon. When they defeat the dungeon boss the dungeon collapses and the gate disappears. It seems to be a closed system with no connections between dungeons. The possible exception might be those red gates, which seem to transport the party elsewhere in order to fight a boss. Upon killing the boss they get teleported back again. I wonder if our mc’s “dad” got red-gated to the same place the mc went to, got lost and didn’t know how to find the boss. He ended up who knows where but, when the boss was defeated last week, he got spewed out at the closest dungeon to his location. I’m assuming he travelled for 10 years and there’s some correlation spatially with our world geography.
