SHIPPUDEN 164-165 (EARLY UNCUT ACCESS)

Comments

didnt realize until just now that Naruto covered the Pain on the ground's eyes, so he wouldnt see the Naruto coming from the sky and let the others know where he was coming from

JD29

Flexie also on sage mode lol

Bekir Durkut

Duuuude. Boruto is so good, even the filler isn’t horrendous but i agree still skip it. 😄

henuhre

I think further on, when people show restraint, it proves that change is possible. Iykyk. But you’re absolutely right.

henuhre

This is when Naruto learned that scale of cycle of hatred is bigger than his village and Hidden leaf did many bad things as well

Saph

Holding a gun to the world and calling it peace.

Dsc

*prowler goku*

Klizer

“I’m hiding with Danzo” Flexie: 😐 BANNED

Alan

The thing about Pain pursuing justice is because it’s hard stop, ask yourself the question if someone killed ur parents or siblings you would want justice according to ur own ideals, that’s why he says justice breeds vengeance, not everyone is created equal so not everyone has the same vision of what peace and justice is.

Jorge Mejia

now that i think about it, it is similar to the nuclear bombs.

Bruno Vass

To this day, Pain's cycle of hatred speech, is hands down one of the best speeches in all of anime.

Xemnas

Shikamaru Naruto’s real #1 friend, dude ready to go back him up no question

Bruh

First time naruto lost a talk no jutsu battle :(

HailKingRagnar1

Chakra can’t be transmitted from that far from the rain , Ino’s dad said it

Gyt

Yeah, Guy 1v1 could win but unless he finds Nagato it don't mean Jack

Christopher Velasquez

That isn't entirely true if you actually think about it. For starters, none of the Pains are actually "alive". So he would at best win temporarily. Secondly Tendou Pain is extremely durable. And his magnetic powers are pure poison for close combat fighters like Guy or Lee (which is one of the reasons why this power basically gets written out of the story...it's just to OP). Worst case scenario Chibaku Tensei would end the fight. Lastly, by this point in the story it's not established how strong or weak 7 gates Guy is. So your comment could easily be classified as spoiler territory. Kishi certainly didn't think about this while writing this arc. Because if he did it would completely fly against the intentions he had for Nagato and how powerful he is supposed to feel. You can't just take information we get we get way later in the story and retroactively apply it to situations in which this information wasn't remotely established yet. *Especially* when you try to avoid spoilers. At this point 7 gates Guy can be theorized to be extremely strong, but nobody who watches the show for the first time can know for sure. Stronger than Pain? I don't think many people would assume that by this point in the story.

Lighto San

29:43 were u trying to suck your tears back in lmao

ROCJOSHUA

Fight for my village? Yo, I wanna live long. See ya! I'll try and remember yall but no promises...

Sindri

Nah 7 gates Guy takes out all of them 1v1 except maybe yahiko with Shinra Tensei but even then he can get in that 5 sec interval, Guy is a monster

Christopher Velasquez

Guy would’ve lost too

Big Daddy Dre

i love boruto personally, just gotta skip fillers

Hustle Humbly

Of course they had to have Guy Sensei out of the village, because lets be honest in those battles 1v1 you know he catching bodies, They always have Guy away when the shit comes through cause he would 7 gates that ass lol

Christopher Velasquez

Well what pain want is basically our world, USA nuked Japan (first use of the ultimate weapon) and now the world is under a fake « « « « « peace » » » » » by fear of this weapon

a_u_i_o

I don't actually think he did it out of ill will towards Konoha but more so to teach them a lesson about pain and to demonstrate his logic on a smaller scale. I don't think at this point in the story Pain wants to do anything except achieving his goals because he detached himself so much from everything. That's also why he had zero issue killing Jiraiya despite having zero hate towards him.

Lighto San

The world is objectively speaking more peaceful now. We don't have WW3 on our hands, not even remotely. We are close to it, yes, but so far the casualties are not on the scale of an actual WW, obviously. Ironically enough the spark which would ignite WW3 *is* the potential dropping of nukes. The only reason why this didn't happen yet is because everyone is afraid of the consequences such an action would bring i.e. Nagatos logic being observable in real time. The logic you are using here is similar to his logic. "Humans will eventually forget about the pain this weapon brings and will use the tailed beast bomb willingly themself which will rekindle pain." In real life this is flawed logic because the impact of nukes isn't something people can forget. Because we can objectively measure the size of an nuclear explosion. The Biden administration won't fire nukes at Russia because they know that Russia (or their allies) would immediately retaliate with their own nukes. So the only reason why we *don't* have WW3 right now is because both sides have nukes and both sides are afraid of the consequences of firing those nukes. The only reason why peace is even a potential option right now is *because* nukes exist. And that is something which will stay true even 100 years from now on. Because the impact of nukes can be objectively measured. You don't need to actually fire them against someone nowadays to do that. And because of that any country on earth which could potentially fire nukes always knows that retaliation is a legit danger henceforth discouraging the use of nukes and war in general. It's kind of similar to stabbings. I don't need to be stabbed in order for me to be afraid of getting stabbed. And yes, some of the nukes nowadays are way way stronger in comparison to WW2 nukes. But not on an "eradicates an entire nation" scale.

Lighto San

I know your Boruto comment was a joke, but honestly? If you powered through Boruto as well after Naruto, you would be the first reactor I've seen out of, like, 5 others, to have gone into Naruto blind *and* follow up with Boruto as well. Most people hear complaints about it and don't bother. You'd be in rarified air if you did!

AbsurdToastling

You know, instead of scrolling the mouse, you can just hit the spacebar to pause.

Mune Yotsuki

The world is more peaceful now? you mean your neighborhood. Some of the nukes available are hundreds times stronger then these used in ww2... The problem is if nobody uses these nukes for a long time then it's like they were never there... People will forget about peace.

Czeslaw Milosz

We should get another for Christmas

Malik Ford

Ohh we have reached episode 166/167 next.. these are so good.. so excited for those. Merry christmas and Happy/Healthy new year Flexie-san.

R.BGames37

that is why i love Pain as a character. His method is what we actually did in the real world and his reasoning makes sense. Sure Naruto wants to kill him for destroying his village, but Pain lost his village and it kinda makes sense for him to want to destroy Konoha...

tymion

Top 5 anime fights for sure. This string of episodes is wild. Toilet toilet toilet 🎶

Crysthian

Pain will essentially force peace upon the world through fear and unassailable power, but in the process is perpetuating the cycle of hatred. It's interesting how Naruto never thought about Pain's question, but the discussion helped him choose the right approach and in the process understood the road to peace is not that easy.

Morro Tv

Uh oh, next two eps 😩

Dennix

Well, I have read the manga in parts and I do agree with you (Kalhoun). But at the same time getting into a long manga series like Naruto is pretty daunting. Watching the anime is easier for most people I would guess. It certainly is easier for me personally + I do really love most of the music in the anime which is completely absent in the manga and that can be a dealbreaker for some people. Personally I think for most people who only watch the anime without reading the manga it's just about ease of access. But honestly, from what I have seen the biggest mess-up the anime did in comparison to the manga is how the anime handled Sakuras character. Manga only readers usually really like her while anime only watchers pretty often dislike her

Lighto San

My best experience with Naruto is mainly with the manga and not the anime. In the manga this arc is what matures Naruto going forward. I do think they did good work with the anime for this arc. Some others down the line not so much and they pad things out with fillers as well which slows it down. So i respect your opinions with regard to the anime.

Kalhoun

Hinata <3

Po

Oh she’s not making it through next episode haha

Brady Goldblatt

Please react to pains speech in dub it’s wayyy better

Nagato

Sadly, I agree with RED Furious. I personally quit the show during the infamous arc spelled with 3 letters (trying to be spoiler free here). The show just couldn't really keep up the momentum & feeling established by this arc for long.

Lighto San

You got it all wrong. Pain wants to create a weapon so strong that he can nuke anyone who starts a conflict, so everyone would be afraid of him, and no one would start a conflict, bringing piece. Of course he wants to demonstrate the weapon first.

Michal Krátky

Just mentioning this here because I think it got lost/missed a bit here: Pains plan is actual commentary about nukes in our real world. And if we compare his plan to nukes in the real world we do have to admit...it works. The world is more peaceful since the first nukes were used during WW2 and sure, that peace might be instilled by fear but for me as a lowly nobody living my life...I don't really care. I'm just happy I don't have to lose body parts in war like my grandfather did. The *problem* with Pains plan is that it's a Pandoras Box. *We* in our world know what influence nukes had on our society and we can observe that the world in general became more peaceful due to fear. But Pain/Nagato does not know that at this point. And in the ninja world his plan could easily backfire. Especially because he claims that the weapon he wants to create is large enough to wipe out an entire nation. And at that point we are not talking about nukes anymore. At that point it's a whole different scale. So, in that regard his plan is not just commentary about nukes but *also* commentary about how humanity maybe shouldn't continue working on even stronger bombs. Imagine a world in which a nuke isn't even remotely the strongest bomb anymore...at some point the Pandoras Box is open to far. But one thing needs to be acknowledged anyway: Nagato himself is not evil. He does commit some very evil and cold acts, but that's because he has detached himself so far from any emotion in order for his greater goal which he views as the betterment of the whole world. He is probably the most misguided bad guy with good intentions and the world itself pushed him into this direction. In other words: He lives by the typical Ninja rule. Remember Zabuza? He tried something similar but on a much smaller scale. Zabuza and Nagato are in that regard exactly the same. The only difference is that Nagato is way farther down this road due to many reasons (his upbringing probably being the biggest one of them). Honestly, the most pure evil characters in this series are most likely Hidan & Kakuzu ironically enough. But that could also be because we didn't get any backstory from them. Though I do think they were supposed to be pure evil because...well, they "died" pretty brutally, especially Hidan

Lighto San

When will your streams start any updates about your twitch channel or it’s gone forever ??? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

FH Network

When will you stream new arc in twitch???

FH Network

peak incoming

tymion

I partially agree with you. There is a reason this arc is the best of the whole series (arguably), it is because it started to deal with its topics and themes in an even more mature way. Unfortunately, it does not last long.

RED Furious

I've always liked from Naruto that it tackled head on the futility of war and what it does to people. The conversation in 165 about pain and justice is one of the best the series did. For me this is where Naruto as series (including himself as a character) matures and grows for the better.

Kalhoun

so now we know what kind of training Naruto did on his own, finally he perfected the Rasenshuriken thats awesome :) and ofc our clever little boy figured out a little cheat code with the clones for the Sage jutsu :D he pulled out some dope moves during this fight :) poor toads they suffered so much here, the big 3 got obliterated while Fukasaku got impaled, thats some super high level animal cruelty right there :P PAIN delivers one of the most iconic speeches ever, gotta give it to him the guy is a realist :) his idea is pretty much a parallel to our world after Hiroshima and Nagasaki, if everyone has nukes people would be too scared to have big open wars :) my man Nagato not looking so hot :P

Kisame

So good

Kamitcha

Would love to see your reaction to episodes 164 & 165 in english. Troy Baker (Pains VA) did an amazing job

CadeNoCap

Noooooo I need the next 2 episodes so badly

Disciple Of Shaco

Nagato's plan isn't that unreasonable, it is essentially a riff on the theory of M.A.D, (Mutually Assured Destruction) that many believe is in effect in the real world; the threat (and pain) of nuclear weapons preventing more WW1 and WW2 type total wars. (It is not the end of all conflict, but conflicts like the great ninja wars in the world of Naruto, and world wars in this world). It sort of makes sense that this type of character is not uncommon in Japanese media.

Rushdhan Ibrahim

Pains whole plan was, "What we need is some nukes"

Mystic_ramen

Love the Naruto reactions!
