Jiraiya memorizing his books isn't that outlandish. This is a thing people in real life can do as well. People memorize holy books down to the letter for religious reasons and I had a friend who memorized every scene from an old animated movie. He could recite every line of dialogue with no mistakes, in order. He could also do that if you gave him a time stamp. He could also tell at what part of the movie each ost was. That's what you get if you watch or read something hundreds of times with full attention. This could be harder or easier in Japanese since all those characters were Kanji and Kanji can have multiple meanings and pronunciations. They can have single or multi-syllable pronunciations. Probably easier to write a code with random kanji from a book. like one of those kanji was pronounced "ha" but the hiragana "ha" is read as "wa" when it's the topic marker in a sentence. Full disclaimer: I'm a extremely new to Japanese (I would barely call myself a beginner) so I might be wrong here.
