Would love your reaction and opinions on: Your Lie in April Fruits Basket ( I think the newer adaptation was great but either) and Run With the Wind

George Gregory

Psycho-Pass for sure, excellent dub too if you want to go that route. Mob Psycho 100 will prob be popular and it's phenomenal. Black Lagoon or Speed Grapher for the culture. Also, I assume you've already watched, but very obviously AoT.

I don't know if your looking for something like action, touching, comedy or what but here are some animes that can be very different but they are equal in one thing, they're awesome. Violent Evergarden Mob Pyscho 100 Love is War or Kaguya Sama Mushoku Tensei Horimiya Heavenly Delusion or Tengoku Daimakyo Dr. Stone (Third or Fourth Season currently in emision) KonoSuba Takt. Op Destiny (Don't know anyone who watched this) Call of the night or Yofukashi no Uta I now there are a lot, but i thing by the name you can have something interesting and enjoy yourself discovering what they're about. :)

Not in any order but these are some good recommendations Hunter X Hunter - Just a very well rounded good vibes show, nice to binge casually Mushoku Tensei - Loved the world building in this show, very well done Re:Zero - Plot is just AHHH so great and a unique take on the cliche isekai genre Mob Psycho - Main characters development through the series is SO GOOD. (Also this show is FINISHED - 3 Seasons) All of these are super good

Also after watching solo leveling w you and hearing about your time as a gamer I'd love to see you play some games! Tons of good reccs here. I'll give two. 86, it's a mech show with a loyal following but it has the kind of heart and emotional gravitas you appreciate in anime. Bakuman. A lesser mentioned but excellent show made by the makers of Deathnote. Essentially their story as mangaka framed as a love story. Lots of heart, about perseverance, dreams, and love.

Some not so well-known outliers which are still supper great: My Happy Marriage (drama romance with a supernatural twist, 1 season with the 2nd currently in progress); Undead Murder Farce (Servered head solves supernatural mysteries with the help of her maid and a half demon. This one is more of a thinker than action...BUT there is a bit of that was well, and the dynamic between the 3 main characters is great...also some WILD plots, only 1 season); The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master (fantasy court drama with some comming of age elements and mystery, also only 1 season)

"Steins;Gate" - It is one of the five top ranked completed anime series on MyAnimeList based on a visual novel game. It follows a small group college / high school kids caught up in a Sci-Fi / Suspense / Drama. The more blind you are the better. It is 24 episodes followed by a 90 minute movie. There is also an optional 24 episode spin-off series, "Steins;Gate 0" if you enjoy it. One of the best anime series that is NOT a shonen / iskei / power fantasy. Enjoy!

I would like to recommend one of my favorite anime of all time. It's called Hyouka. I believe it's 24 episodes, it's a high school slice of life but it's 4 of the most endeering anime high schoolers ever. It's also a Kyoto Animation before their studio was tragically set on fire killing a lot of the people who worked on this masterpiece. Whenever spring rolls around I tend to rewatch this show to melt away my winter stress.

I second this 100%. It's probably a weird choice to many but it's my number one favorite anime ever. It PERFECTLY captures everything about shounen while being super funny, having great memorable characters and being so accurate with food which is a big interest of mine. Edit: It also has so much ecchi in it, it's probably a better choice for Patreon anyway.

Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma (Without spoilers, I’ll just say that it’s probably not YouTube-friendly. You’ll see why in the first episode if you choose to watch it!)

I agree with watching Fire Force S2 since S3 will air spring next year. But you could perhaps schedule it for late winter if you'd like to time it close to the broadcast date. I'm rewatching Mr Hiiragi's Homeroom and I just thought I'd love to watch your reaction to this JDrama ✌️

You should definitely continue Fire Force. Season 3 will be out soon and you'll be able to watch it weekly as it comes out. As for other shows, Vinland Saga is peak and I think you'd really like it.

second everything in this list except for Mushoku Tensei cuz holy shit the ecchi is horrid in that show... pity because the premise was decent...

Laura Bea

i believe she watched HxH already before making content? but idk

Funny thing is they literally just announced the final season of fire force just about an hour ago for April lol Also maybe try something different like a horror anime The top ones I can think of is either Future diaries witch is a survival death game or. Another, which is the anime version of final destination

The KnightGundam

i think you would get a real kick out of Future Diary. lotta stuff goin on there!

Golden Kamuy Konosuba Bocchi the Rock Violet Evergarden All of these are amazing anime that should be watched at some point.

Serathim

I think you should finish Fire Force S2 and then get into Hunter x Hunter!!

Capihood

She's already starting Apothecary Diaries in January. As far as Isekai goes, I find Mushoku Tensei is far from "Isekai done right" . Personally, I'm not a fan of series whose main character skips out on attending his parents funeral to masturbate while watching hidden camera footage of his 10 year old niece in the bath. The anime doesn't explicitly say it, but if you go back to episode 2, look at his screen (only a corner is shown) you see a the bare legs of a small girl in a tiled room.

Unpaid AstroNOT

Wistoria wand and sword, MASHLE magic and muscle. MASHLE is kind of like one punch Man meets Harry Potter. It's very funny.

I want to throw some of my favorites into the ring: Neon Genesis Evangelion (26 episodes + 5 Movies) Gurren Lagann (27 episodes) FLCL (original 6 episode OVA) Kill la Kill (24 episodes) Konosuba (33 episodes +1 Movie) Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (28 episodes + 1 Movie)

Unpaid AstroNOT

Dare I say you should watch violet evergarden 👀

Eduardo Gallegos

Eduardo Gallegos

Digimon...

Domi

After I wrote this initial message. I instantly was like...86 is definitely a better anime. Was actually the first one I watched and I adore it to this day.

Quacckers

Vinland Saga - Viking Epic about revenge and what comes after Undead Murder Farce - short (12 episodes) stylish supernatural detective anime that is a lot of fun Hinamatsuri - super funny and heartwarming Zombie Land Saga - also super funny and heartwarming, with some excellent music Dead Mount Death Play - supernatural reverse isakai Golden Kamuy - tremendous ensemble cast historical fiction about a treasure hunt Black Lagoon - Think 80s-90s action movie/Tarantino the anime tried to pick stuff i think is good but not a lot of people react to. Except for Vinland Saga, lots of reaction vids out there for that because it's excellent and popular

Cronshaw

If you want to watch some earlier classics: The Vision of Escaflowne Wolf’s Rain S-Cry-ed Plus, no one ever reacts to these. You’d be a trend setter.

Josh Talkington

86 definitely over Classroom its better but also cause its shorter so then watch classroom after 86

Walker

God I would literally stop watching someone if they took out the music in 86 haha. Haven’t come across that issue yet but man 86 is a masterpiece!

Walker

Haha I’d definitely agree with that

Daniel Webster

Definitely “86” no questions asked especially over Blue Lock haha

Walker

HIGHLYYYY “86” lol🤣

Glad to see a lot of people recommending and liking “86”🤝🏽

Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic Dr. Stone Madoka Magicka Promised Neverland Mushoku Tensei is excellent worldbuilding but worse fan service than Fire Force Re:Zero Shield Hero (solo leveling but fantasy and very trope-y) I assume Reincarnated as a Slime, Black Clover, Fairy Tail, and Hunter x Hunter are all big enough for YouTube.

Richard Knouff

Erased and Madoka Magika are some short, bingable shows that you would enjoy reacting to.

Camori

Please continue Fire Force. Some recommendations from others I could get behind, Yuyu Hakusho or Overlord.

Plushxi

86 Samurai Champloo FLCL Odd Taxi Kids on the Slope Golden Time Bestars All great shows that probably wouldn’t do as well on YouTube numbers wise, but would be perfect for Patreon. 86 and Bestars are a bit longer (Bestars 3rd and final season just started and 86 has a lot more to adapt), but the rest are single season shows.

Jordan Landry

Never seen the show as the premise is lackluster but less fanservice is a huge negative

It is difficult and honestly I'm too short here to know if there are toxic fans of the series here. Some people in the fandom help other understand. Some spoil stuff. And some think that people misunderstanding is an attack on the series itself. That being said - it depends on Flexie. I do feel like she should watch 2 or 3 other shows before it. But she does have some ear for Japanese. And it's not like I'm going to hate a "pause every 3 second" reaction ;) But IDK if it won't be too taxing for her. For monogatari fans I will just add - if she doesn't pick it up, don't be mad.

86 and Violet Evergarden do well on YouTube For an Patreon exclusive, I'll recommend OG Inuyasha. Not a ton of reactions of the series on YouTube, but it's a great show regardless

since you finished cowboy bebop, it'd be cool for you to check out some other 90s anime like it. yu yu hakusho was pretty good, but it's your call lol

I recommend Tiger and Bunny. The OG Japanese western-style superhero anime, different from MHA and OPM both and just a really great show.

If I wasn't a bit tired of the genre, I'd probably call it best Anime ever. It's definitely the Anime I can find least amount of flaws in, even on terrible days. Days where I can find flaws in the air around me, in myself, my family, in food, everywhere. And yet this beautiful Anime.... basically has none. I don't mind people not liking it - after all this is matter of taste. But I don't understand people hating it. Though thankfully there are few people that do. Sadly there is a lot of people who love to spoil the show. And you're correct about OST. This would actually be perfect for Patreon. Or at least as Patreon first. It would take a lot of editing to put it on YouTube. Though I think reaction to it would be very appreciated.

Please watch 86

Papermoon

I have to see the last 2 movies. Reason I didn't was because I picked up the Light Novel ;) But the series and first movie are famous and are available. I think 2 last movies are available in US, but only very recently. Because the rights were to both movies and production was interrupted by COVID. Which meant that 2nd movie got released much later. I mean it is officially available since I think April this year. Both movies. Even though one of them was released in Japan like 2-3 years ago.

I'll suggest some older, shorter series that might not be as popular on YT but are ones I really enjoyed:- Another Erased Elfen Lied Noein Claymore They're all single season with maybe an OVA here and there. Good series that are probably not as well known now. Erased is probably the most recent and has a live action version so that might be better known than the others. I think anime fans will know them and watch them on Patreon but they might not draw much of an audience on YT. I guess it can be good to have a couple of short, 12 or 13 episode series on the back-burner for when you just need to fill a few weeks waiting for a new season of something else to release. Somebody else mentioned "Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny-Girl Sempai" and I definitely second that. Make sure you can find the movie as well as the series because it definitely needs the movie at the end to finish up the story. The movie is one of the best anime series movies I've ever seen. This series seems to be popular on YT, though, as I've been watching reactions to it this week. It's a beautiful series with a lot more depth than you'd expect from the title lol. "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" is an extraordinary series. Don't watch on Crunchroll because they rearranged the episodes so it plays in chronological order. It's best to watch it in the release order first time. It has 2 seasons, a movie and an OVA, I think. There's a weird arc in season 2 that seems like the same episode over and over but has slight differences. The arc (7 or 8 episodes?) can be skipped. Look up a watch order guide for release order viewing to figure out how to watch and what to skip. I know it seems like a lot just to figure out how, where and what to watch with this series but it's worth the effort. That's all for now cos I rambled too much. Sorry.

Caradoc Elmet

Unfortunatelly the OSTs for A Place further than the Universe are heavily copyrighted as well and for me they make up a lot of the emotionally climax of every Episode. But I am happy to see a fellow fan of this amazing show. There are far to less people watching/talking about it imo. Just another masterpiece from studio Madhouse.

Rascal does not dream of bunny girl sempai is a really good call. I watched it recently on a recommendation (I'd been put off by the title previously) and I really, really loved it. You definitely need to watch the ending movie to really make it a great series, though, and I found it hard to track down. In the end I had to watch it on one of those "unofficial" sites. I don't know if that will have an effect on things given that Flexie is doing this professionally now. I'd make sure the movie can be accessed before beginning or you'll miss the full beauty of the series - the movie is one of the best anime series movies I've ever seen. It's really a masterwork.

"A Place further than the Universe" - leave that until you need something happy to make you feel better. But it's also one of the best Anime's ever. "Violet Evergarden" - if you liked Frieren's OST and if you like visually stunning and beautiful story (with at least 2 movies after the Anime) that is... sometimes tough, you will love it. And you will cry. Like we all did. "86" - maybe a tad simpler story, but still it is something. And if you like fights and tears this is definitely a good recommendation. IF and only IF you do not mind pausing from time to time and getting a deeper understanding of Japanese language, folklore, beliefs etc. then there is probably nothing better than "Monogatari" series. There is a whole watch order and between seasons there are movies. It's a long story. "Rascal does not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai" - some people call it a copy of Monogatari. I personally disagree, I do think most similarities are superficial. It's easier to get into than Monogatari and it is funny and sometimes tragic. There are movies after main series. Dialogue is golden. "My Dress-Up Darling" - if you want mostly wholesome, albeit sometimes spicy story. None of the above are "exclusively" for Patreon. They could be released on YouTube. Though some of them you'd have to edit a fair bit. "Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song" - that is difficult to put on YouTube, because it is heavily copyrighted there. Also great Anime. And relatively short. I do suggest putting "Fire Force" on back burner. It had troubles when it was released and it shows in production quality and in writing. It's not bad, but it isn't adaptation that most people "love". I could spend days and not think of other Anime that I would love to see your reactions to, so I will stop now ;)

I'm not crying, you're crying - Violet Evergarden (female main character, action, romance) - Your lie in april (Romance, Classical music) - Made in Abyss (art style, World building) - A silent voice (bullying, healing, modern setting) Fun and phenomenal - Apothecary diaries (my favorite female main besides frieren, still deep but also fun) - Bunny girl senpai (fun romance show with great writing) - My dress up darling (cosplay, great main characters, tense romance) Dark and Darker - Devilman Crybaby (interesting plot and characters, demons, tragic) - Akame Ga Kill (the perfect mix of violence, comedy and Tragedy, 12 eps) These have it all for me, s tier, watched 5 times, overall winners of last 5 years - Mushoku Tensei (Isekai done right, beautiful art, great characters and world building, comedy, s tier action, just really good all around) - Oshi no Ko (this show is so good it made me watch a show about idols) - Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (won anime of the year for a reason, prepare for music induced PTSD) Missing like 10,000 shows, tried to keep the list to shorter anime, Mushoku Tensei is 5 seasons now but everything else could be done quickly and are popular enough I think people would watch.

Oh gosh!! I had just posted some suggestions under the Frieren finale post, but i can add them here too. For suggestions: MAIN recommendation: - (Puella Magi) Madoka Magica: this anime is absolutely FANTASTIC, and out of all these recommendations, if you only pick one let this be it. it is considered to be one of the best anime of the early 2010s, and it still holds up to this day. the best way to describe the genre is 'dark magical girl' anime, but categorising it that way doesn't do it justice. it is a deconstruction of the magical girl genre, amongst other things, also the animation is stunning and holds up even today despite the show being 13 years old, and the music is amazing (Yuki Kajiura did the soundtrack). Oh and it's only 12 episodes (plus a movie with a new one coming out soon after ten years if you like it - also adds relevance) ! so not too long~! Other STRONG recommendations: - Houseki no kuni - Lupin III: The woman named fujiko mine - Eighty six MODERATE recc: - Serial experiments lain - Neon Genesis Evangelion - Kill la Kill MILD recc: (- Revolutionary Girl Utena) - excellent show that greatly influenced anime and western animation over the past few decades but it's 39 episodes and it's shoujo (although dark) so a mostly shounen audience might not like it lol EDIT: I removed Oshi No Ko because that show is still new enough and big enough that it merits going on youtube - Oshi No Ko reactions always do super well so i wouldnt want you to miss out on that!! (and i also added a coupla other shows that people had also mentioned in this thread to simply add critical mass cuz why not)

Laura Bea

If you want to watch classic anime series (since you already watched Cowboy Bebop) i recommed these masterpieces: Neon Genesis Evangelion Code Geass Steins;Gate Berserk Samurai Champloo Monster Mob Psycho 100 Your Lie in April JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Devilman: Crybaby

Raunak Xrestha

Recently a movie called Look Back, based on the one shot by Chainsaw Man Author Tatski Fujimoto, was released. It is a beautiful film which is just about an hour long. I really recommend it.

Raunak Xrestha

Patreon only, if you're doing Haikyu in YT, then I'd say One Piece. If you're able to make it through Dragon Ball, One Piece will make you weep uncontrollably. More than Frieren, once understand how it addresses topical pain and problems and life circumstances. Oda has themes that go deep. But you need the patience to process them. By the time you're done you'll be like Naruto what? That shit was for shonen scrubs. Oda has referenced the US UK coup of Iran where we installed a dictatorial shah instead of a democratically elected president because the shah would give us better oil prices. One piece goes deeper than this if you have the historical knowledge.

hurryupmode

My Dress-Up Darling is excellent and only 12 episodes, but big enough to deserve posting to YouTube. I highly recommend Twelve Kingdoms, a 45 episode anime from the early 2000s with fantastic worldbuilding and great characters. It also does a thing better than any other anime I've seen, which is just when you can't stand another moment of a character, they change and become really likeable. It's so rare to see anagnorisis done so well. Available on Crunchyroll. As far as I know there's no manga. There's a series of novels in Japan, some of which had iffy translations from Tokyopop before they went under. If you can find it, Haibene-Renmei is very good, and fun for people who like to figure out what's going on. There's an older series called Princess Tutu about ballet, and the power of story, and it would be spoilery to say more. There's a series called Ride-Back about a ballerina who has a career-ending injury, and learns to dance again with the aid of a motorcycle-style mech. And then some stuff happens. Frieren's director had a previous series called Bocchi the Rock about a shy girl who plays guitar. It's very good. Violet Evergarden's soundtrack was done by the same person who did Frieren's. It's a very sad series, but there's nothing wrong with crying at sad things.

I show that I would love you to react to is Fruits Basket (the remake version). I saw someone mention Fairy Tail and that would be great as well. However I think those could be posted for YouTube as well because I don’t think the copyright is too bad. I think you should continue FireForce. Honestly I joined for the Spy x Family reactions and was so happy to see FireForce. I've been patiently waiting for the return of both.
