Frieren Beyond Journey's End Ep28 REACTION (Early Uncut Access)

Comments

theres this one arc that I'm very heavily hoping gets adapted but I dunno if the anime will get that far in the manga

Quantum Anomaly

Season 2 starts in January 2026!

BennyK Reviews

I would love to see more movie reactions! Since you enjoyed Frieren so much I am so sure you would love the movie "Maquia"

Leo

The first season of Frieren is actually a story about a spell that creates a field of flowers and the lives it changed.

kryvnus

I last second commented this and CAUGHT YOU DOING THE FRIEREN GIGGLE “hm hmmm” !!! 😂😂😂

Kcosta

Because himmel is himmie the hero

Kcosta

I hope you watch it in dub at some point, the VAs did a fantastic job conveying the humor and emotions. Lots of things happened and lots will come but these reactions have been amazing, can’t wait to see more reactions to others of my favorite anime

Kcosta

i was late to the frieren party and was also caught off guard by the emotional steam roller that this show is. thanks for geeking out over it and sharing it with all of us, it was such a joy to rewatch it through these reactions and i can't wait for season 2! i hope you've taken the time to rewatch it in dub, it's also such a joy and is somehow just as perfect.

Cornelius Ukena

I've seen this show 4 times lmao. How the hell do i always end up crying? I'M A MAN FFS

MCPEPP

Re:Zero is a rollercoaster of a show, highly recommend!

Dylan French

Brotherhood one of my faves ever and I’ve watched literally everything! Can’t wait :)

Taira Dinh

Agree with the meaning of this show, it makes you reflect a lot Re:Zero (3 seasons) 3rd is on a 2 month break currently. Would be a good time to catch up on it

Lee

This was an amazing set of reactions from you and really loved retaking the Frieren journey with you. If I had to give some recommendations I’d say Hunter X Hunter, Black Clover, Reincarnated as a Slime for another lighthearted fun watch, or Mashle: Magic and Muscles for a unique entertaining spin on magic anime since you really enjoyed all the magic in Frieren.

Dylan Kennedy

Hunter x Hunter, Mushishi, Ping Pong

jikaem

Great anime was sad to see it end. as seen it recently and was a bit down when seen it but it made me feel better :p

Fire Cape

Bocchi the rock would be a good quick show.

Danny

Ahhh you made it to the end!!! I've absolutely loved your Frieren reactions - found your channel quite by chance back when you had just started the series and have so enjoyed watching you discover this beautiful, graceful, heart-wrenching story. I also simply did not want it to end, and of course at the time we didn't know if there would be a second season and Madhouse is known for doing oneshots so i wasn't optimistic... so glad they decided to carry it on!!! For suggestions: STRONG recc: - Madoka magica - Houseki no kuni - Oshi no ko - Lupin III: The woman named fujiko mine MODERATE recc: - Serial experiments lain - Neon Genesis Evangelion MILD recc: (- Revolutionary Girl Utena) - excellent show that greatly influenced anime and western animation over the past few decades but it's 39 episodes and it's shoujo (although dark) so a mostly shounen audience might not like it lol

Laura Bea

Thank you for taking us with you on your delightful journey through Frieren. It richly rewards a rewatch, so many little details that gain new significance when you know what's to come.

Carl Rigney

I’ve read ahead a little bit and I’m already anxious about the scenes that are going to break me in season two

Ryan Jones

See Yalls maybe in a mere 2 years for season 2!!

Yuno Pain

Fruit Baskets is one of the best Anime series of its kind, I highly recommend it.

BoyBovine

Aaaaah it's over :') Now we wait for S2... My recommendations: - Cyberpunk Edgerunners - Violet Evergarden - The Ancient Magus' Bride - Kaguya Sama Love is War - Cross Game - Odd Taxi - Space Brothers - Baccano! - Wolf Children (movie) - Paprika (movie)

Koko

I would definitely recommend Oddtaxi. Very different to many of the other types of anime you have reacted to

Esteban

Awesome reaction to the last episode of Season 1. Truly Frieren is a awesome anime that is hits all the right spots. When Season 2 launches I can't wait to see you react to it as well. That being said, I would highly recommend the anime movie "A Silent Voice" if you haven't watched it. Also for a series I would recommend "Attack on Titan" which is a must have watch for any anime reaction channel IMHO. It's truly a great anime.

Drift3r

After 100+ animes, frieren is one of my favorite, top 3 for sure. Apothicary diaries after frieren is a good choice, it's smooth, visuals are beautiful too, and it's one of the best female caracter with frieren. I can recommand you to watch Vinland Saga, it's a pure masterpiece too... In my top 3 with frieren (sorry for my poor english)

dolo

Vinland saga is another one that explores a lot of philosophy of connections and inner growth and self acceptance

Nuvaa

World Trigger is one of my favourites is super underrated, the combat system is awesome it makes the battles super enjoyable

Shiffer

Recommendations - Eureka Seven: A mech, coming of age, little romance anime. Made by Bones Studio same company that did Full Metal Alchemist and MHA. 6 entires in the franchise 2 series 4 movies including a trilogy. You only have to watch first series, all entries are their own separate stories. First series not on Crunchyroll though. ALSO MUST WATCH IN ENGLISH voice acting is top tier. - World Trigger: Highly under-rated anime its long though 70 episodes in season 1, then season two and three are 12 or 13 episodes each. The anime may not be very flashy but it's story telling and character development is really good. Has some of the best fight scenes, they may not be over top visually but they are thought out and very exciting.

Andy Hinton

My recommendation is Saga of Tanya the Evil

Ian Mercado

you should watch Vinland Saga

Silent Night

Golden Kamuy is an excellent anime that not many have reacted to, but those that have have loved it and consider it a hidden gem.Its an anime set in Japan in the early 1900's and is a fun action adventure with a lot of amazing characters. Plus what fan service it has is defiantly the kind that woman would appreciate more than men lol.

Serathim

Land is the embodiment of "work from home." It is funny how Serie says he's got guts when he had the least amount of risk to his life.

Ian Mercado

You just have to imagine this: When it aired live, millions of people were absolutely the same as you - kind of ready for the finale, but also they just wanted for this show to continue forever. It was so impactful in so many people's lives no one was happy to say goodbye to it, but at the same time no one knew if it was just one season or if it was going to be renewed or how long it would take. On its own this season felt like a complete story, like deep down everyone was content with what they got and were ready. And then the final scenes play out, the ED starts playing, everyone is in tears because they know it's ending, and then Himmel drops this line: "Tearful goodbyes aren't our style. It would be embarrassing when we meet again." Also, find a slot for Violet Evergarden at some point in the future. VE and Frieren are two of my favourites, so I'll be super happy to watch it along with you :) Apothecary Diaries - also great, and FMA:B is an absolute classic and I love them both too :D

Milosz Skowronski

Back during the 1st exam, when Wirbel and Ehre thought they had lost, Ehre mentioned introducing her grandfather to Wirbel since he is a 1st class mage and can escort them across the Northern Plateau, then during the montage at the end, you see Ehre introducing Wirbel to her Grandfather, who just so happened to be Lernen, the first 1st class mage.

Unpaid AstroNOT

What a ride! Frieren might be the most complete, well-rounded story I’ve ever experienced, and I can’t wait for the anime-only crowd to experience what’s to come. It only gets better from here. Onto Apothecary Diaries!

Jordan Landry

Anime of the year. Hands down. Top 3 all time for me thus far.

Zachary Cadena

Loved it! You should check out Violet Evergarden … it’s very Frieren-like just a beautiful anime about people and their connection

May Gonza

after the anime ended, i loved it so much i had to read the manga 😭 such a special series.

1nonlynox

Yup, one season was all it took to launch this into the ranks one of the best ever imo. Can't wait to continue this journey.

Vaxus335

I agree with your feelings on the rewatch; when I first watched this I wasn’t AS invested, probably because I finished a shonen right before, so this show was a complete 180 for me to get into right away. But as I kept watching and after I finished the show I rewatched parts of it again and I kept falling more and more in love with it for all of the reasons you’ve stated. It’s such a simple beautiful story about living your life and the relationships you carry with you. On a side note, I’m SO excited for Apothecary Diaries, I already know you’re going to LOVE that one. AND FMAB as you’ve mentioned, is also up there with my favorites. You’re a very emotional and thoughtful reactor who pays attention to detail which I love about this channel. I’ll definitely watch those with you when they come to the channel, I think you’ll love both of them.

Gabriella Pinkoski

A place further than the Universe is legendary "feel good" anime. Violet Evergarden is also fantastic. Same composer for the music BTW.

Jan Negrey

Best Anime of all time. Can't convince me otherwise.

Quacckers

To recommend. I see some fellow 86'ers and Violet Evergarden'ers in the chat. Those and FMAB are on my all time list below Frieren.

Camvrcz

Her flashback at the end with Himmel and co. was an amazing break in the 4th wall. Himmel is talking to each of us just as much as he was to Frieren with those lines. Though, I'd have to admit that tearful goodbyes are more my style. I'm so glad you enjoyed this as much as the rest of us. It's simply perfect and beautifully so. It oozes love and care.

Camvrcz

I've been starting to believe that Serie banning Frieren for the next 1000 years is her awkward way of making sure Frieren is being remembered by the Magic Association for a 1000 years. It's been more than 80 years since the Demon King's reign ended and most people already forgot about Frieren. If Lernen wasn't there to recognize her necklace, then Fern would have had to take the test alone and who knows what would have happened then. Serie certainly wouldn't have been there to proctor the test, and I can only imagine how violent Lernen's 3rd test would have been. Frieren might be banned from future Magic Association events, but at least now they will always know who Frieren is. I can't wait for season 2. Even though I still sometimes learn more things about Frieren from rewatching it multiple times, I want more!

Brickland

LOVED THIS ANIME!!! Yes, once I got to the end, I could NOT let it end there so......I found the Manga, CONSUMED every morsel that it contained and am STILL waiting for the next chapter to drop!!!

Sergio

I feel like I'm the only person in the world who saw it, but Yatagarasu The Raven Does Not Choose It's Master is exceptional, and I'm desperate for someone other than me to watch it.

Scarmath

Ranking of Kings is also a worthy show to watch.

Roy Meulblok

"She's talking to the Sky". Pretty cool detail because Himmel means both Sky / Heaven in german.

Lorem

SO the real question at the end of all of this.... are you alright?

William Roberts

season 2 was confirmed not too long ago by the way

mal

"Tearful goodbyes aren't our style, after all it would be embarrassing when we meet again". Well it's gonna be hella embarrassing when we get to season 2 and see them again I guess! Loved watching the reaction to Frieren and excited to see what we'll watch next!

Seal Oppa

There is a teaser for season 2 I saw a comment, Good News, Season 2 coming soon. Bad News, it's Frieren that said "soon" 😁

Dany DLTV

Thank you for taking the time to watch and react to this. It's been a ride. I don't think there will ever be a show quite like this one again.

The Blue Savior

Now we just have to wait for season 2 😭😭😭😭 I also recommend the manga, it is soooo good, and the current arc is WILD

victoria t

It somewhat feels wrong to recommend something else under the finale of such an amazing show. But here I go. Since you mentioned Apothecary Diaries yourself some of my other favorites are: A Place Further Than the Universe Violet Evergarden Girls Band Cry

Teddy1895

For everyone, I believe Frieren has been an incredibly rewarding experience, filled with valuable lessons and lovable characters. As a manga reader, I can confidently say that the story only grows more engaging and praiseworthy as it progresses. Long live Frieren and Himmel, the Hero. As for recommendations, I would highly suggest Violet Evergarden as my top pick. The story, characters, art, and themes are truly beautiful, and with only 12 episodes, it's perfect for watching on Twitch over the course of a couple of days. Another must-watch is Vinland Saga. While it’s packed with action, it also delves into a much deeper narrative that will tug at your heartstrings. Lastly, I recommend Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Its soundtrack is among the best ever, and it evokes a powerful emotional experience, like Demon Slayer.

Bruno

cool little callback to the 1st episode, one of the first shots in this episode: Frieren sitting on the steps and yawning waiting for Fern is almost identical to a similar shot of her sitting on the steps and yawning waiting for Himmel in the 1st episode.

Cronshaw

Bro is a GOAT.

James Bell

I think you articulated very well why Frieren connects with so many people on a deep level. Almost everyone can relate to wishing they had cherished a person and or a time period before it's gone. Add in the amazing storytelling, soundtrack, animation, realistically flawed and relatable characters, etc, and it's truly a special journey. Loved the Frieren giggle "HMH-HMMMM" at the end haha!

Russell Gambardella

The wholesomeness of this show reminds me of the best of humanity. I tend toward the cynical, so this reminder is helpful in grounding me.

James Bell

My history with Frieren is that I heard about Chapter 1, which is the first half / three quarters of episode 1. This was before the Frieren anime was ever announced. Just hearing it was moving, so I ran off to read the entirety of the manga up to that point. Unlike most other anime that I have read the manga for, it hit me just as hard to experience that again. It is exactly what I want in a story. If you go back and watch the first episode again, it hits even harder now that we've spent some time with Himmel. In episode 2, the flashback where the hero party is in the conjured field of flowers, Himmel's expression is so perfect now that we have the context of when he was a child. And the series is littered with little moments that are richer and more fulfilling with the increased context around it. For recommendations, I'll put forward Look Back. Unless it's here somewhere and I haven't found it yet. It's perfect for artists & creative types, but also for anyone who pursued a craft in their lives. The original manga is from Tatsuki Fujimoto (Chainsaw Man) and it is as perfect an adaptation as possible. And it's only about an hour long, so it would be a quick movie review. Plus a vote for Cyberpunk Edgerunners.

Mike E

Frieren made such an incredible impact for me as an individual when this anime finished. The many messages that it sends certainly will carry on into the future and continue shape who I am. This series easily cements itself as a top 5 animes of all time in my book. As for my next recommendation, im stuck between either Hibike Euphonium! Or Steins;Gate. Both of these anime have incredibly powerful messages or wonderful character development and share the same tier with Frieren for me. Do give them a shot sometime!

GardeninTool

I wrote all this before watching your full reaction, but having seen the ending of your reaction I will add a little more. In August of 2015, I was hospitalized for what was supposed to be routine health maintenance for my cystic fibrosis. An odd health complication resulted in the discovery of a tumor next to my spinal cord. The tumor started causing pain so bad that the doctors put me on morphine and it was barely doing anything to relieve the pain. I could not lay down or sit for longer than thirty minutes. I couldn't sleep for almost a week and started hallucinating from sleep deprivation. I had surgery to remove the tumor, but the surgery required the removal of a few pieces from my spine. The tumor itself was non-cancerous, but the surgery left me with chronic pain. In the middle of all this I was desperately looking for anything that would distract from the pain, and I downloaded an app where I could talk to people from around the world. I randomly met a Japanese lady, and struck up a friendship with her. I met her for the first time in person in Japan in 2016. During this trip to attend the Frieren concert, I visited her and basically told her that my feelings for her were that I'd like to return to Japan in two years to marry her. She responded that she'd like that, so my current goal in life is working towards being with her. A common theme in Frieren is that people don't know how you feel unless you tell them, and we are essentially witnessing a beautifully told romantic tragedy where Frieren didn't realize or act on her feelings for Himmel until it was too late. Using this anime as my inspiration, I have decided to act, to take control of my life instead of letting life defeat me. In the middle of my despondency, I discovered that a lady that is very important to me actually had and has romantic feelings for me. Frieren has literally changed my life in so many ways.

Bullnettle

frieren made me realize that life is just a bunch of side stories and quests we experience while traveling to the end. i think we all get wrapped up in the grand idea of what we want to achieve in our lives that once we get there we dont know whats next. Himmel at the start of the show said that they would have to find work despite coming home from killing the demon king. its all day by day and who knows where the road will take us but so long as you are enjoying your self and sharing your life with others it will be a great journey.

Ben

Frieren was probably the best show that I didn’t expect anything from. I cannot think of a single part of this show that isn’t perfect. The characters the story telling through the passage of time and so many other things. This will go down as one of my favorite shows of all time. Not just as an anime but a show.

Noah Radosta

Most of the anime I would like to recommend seem to already be planned or be on your radar to some extent, but outside of that I would highly recommend Kaguya-sama: Love is War. It may seem just a funny romantic comedy at first but it just has so much heart and hidden depth to it on top of being downright hilarious that it safely secures a spot in the category of "special" anime that just sticks with you, seemingly for most people considering its ratings.

Mikael Hultman

it's such a perfect ending to a fantastic and beautiful season of exceptional anime, I'm so so looking forward to the next one and the continuation of the journey to Ende.

Leegion

frieren got such an amazing story and characters , such a good series 🥹 i love it

toasty

Land: Doesn't show up to the exams. Charms the yandere that the Internet went wild for by doing nothing. Refuses to elaborate. Passes. Doesn't leave because wasn't there in the first place.

Mike E

"The Apothecary Diaries" is an excellent substitute for "Frieren"; both were among my top anime selections of 2023.

Jesus Ascencio

Land working from home

Harrison Kuffner

Whoa, thank you so much for sharing this with me and the community here.. I got emotional reading it... The way it all played out 🥹 absolutely beautiful and special. I’m honored to have you here and I’m grateful to have heard your story! 💖

Jessica McCann

maybe I've seen too much anime but it didn't touch me the same way as others. fantastic show though

Christian Clark

The anime "86" is pretty good. It's a great emotional story set in a dystopian mech war.

Brett

I'm surprised to see this reaction come out today, and I don't comment often, but since you asked how the show impacted your viewers I might as well share. I live with intense, chronic backpain as well as having cystic fibrosis. At the beginning of this year, I was at the lowest point of my life. I wasn't exactly s*icidal, but I'd given up on everything. I had been watching Frieren and enjoying it, in particular I love the OST, I'm a fan of Evan Call the composer. As soon as the soundtrack for Frieren was available for preorder I bought it. In the meantime, my therapist was telling me that I needed to have some kind of goal to work towards. I saw a news article online that there was going to be a concert of Frieren music performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. I thought going to the concert would be incredible, and I wondered how you would even go as I couldn't find anything about getting tickets. A few weeks later, it was announced that the Frieren concert tickets were only available by lottery and the lottery ticket was included in the Frieren OST which I had already bought. I decided there and then that I was going to enter the lottery and plan for a trip to Japan. A few weeks after I entered my application I got the response that I'd won the lottery and could buy a couple tickets for the concert. I spent the following months kicking my own butt with physical training to be healthy and strong enough to travel from the US to Japan. It was the hardest thing I've had to do in my entire life. It was grueling and exhausting getting my body into decent shape, but I did it. I made it to Japan and got to go to the most prestigious concert I've ever been to. It was an absolutely amazing experience and motivated me to do so much more. I can't go into all the details here, but the trip changed my life. I'm continuing to push myself and improve my bodies condition. Frieren literally changed my life, and I loved watching your reaction to it!

Bullnettle

I rewatched it immediately after i finished it but in dub.

B11zzard1991

It was a "mere" 28 episodes...😭
