2024-12-11 11:57:27 +0000 UTCDon’t get me wrong, Bleach was the first anime I’ve watched, I’m a bleach fan before anything, but I really liked the sort of ‘enclosed barrier’ Shinsui’s Bankai showed and it made me think of it. 🔥😍 Gege said that bleach was an inspiration of his along Hunter x Hunter and I love it !!!!

2024-12-11 09:53:13 +0000 UTCi cant wait for the continuation of this, man i love shunsui so fucking much. and to think most of us though chad had a chance when he fought him in the first season. i think the last time he used bankai was 1000+ years ago, sicne the bankai would pull in anyone around into the performance it would likely kill all his comrades, its a greif filled bankai, something he would rather not use. " I guess the occasional bankai aint so bad" points to that

Kubo has mentioned before that (I’m paraphrasing here) a person’s outward persona is reflected in their Shikai, but their true psyche is connected to their Bankai. Kyoraku is a carefree, easy-going man who likes to be playful, mirroring his Shikai. But he’s also shown himself to be very direct and lethal in battle, he’s fully willing to stab someone from behind or use less than honorable methods to do his job, and he definitely carries the weight of centuries of grief and responsibility that we probably don’t know about yet. That’s what makes his Bankai so cold that it gave everyone chills feeling his spiritual pressure. And yes - his Bankai is a multi-stage play where he and his opponent are the actors telling the story of a tragic couple, where the man strikes the woman, feels shame over his actions, becomes sick from his guilt, until they both throw themselves into the river to die together, and even at the last moment he betrays her by trying to save himself, so she kills him with the last act. Thus the manga title “The Theatre Suicide”

2024-12-02 04:08:33 +0000 UTCIt seemed interesting to me that it was specifically the older (generally much stronger) Captains that had such versatile, multi-stage Bankai. I like to think that Kubo does this deliberately - real mastery of Bankai to the extent where it has different stages / forms is only achieved by those captains that have trained for centuries. Yamamoto and Shunsui seem to support that idea. Meanwhile - captains that are very young, but considered prodigies amongst captains would be Byakuya and Toshiro, who also exhibit multiple Bankai stages, but not comparable to the same extent as the elders.

2024-12-01 20:06:15 +0000 UTCIt's fascinating to me that the older shinigami seem to have more conceptual bankai that are very versatile almost like domain expansions. And the younger shinigami tend to have more armament based or environmental bankai. So far we have seen Yamamoto and shunsui's bankai but we haven't seen ukitake's. So far 2 out of the 3 is pretty good but makes you wonder.

His bankai is sorta the same concept as is shikai but in a grander scale and instead of kids games it's a play about tragedy and suicide. In the Manga, this fight with Lillie was titled "The Theater Suicide".
