I'm so glad you've met them properly now. I hope this isn't where your viewing ended on that stream. We are really amping up now. I love season 3 so much! And Bakago seems to have finally found his natural home lol. There was so much rushing through my head at this point of the story. There were so many possibilities of where they might go. I wasn't disappointed in the slightest.

Throughout AFO's life, they "cultivate the power" which means they're adding their own power to the quirk throughout their life. When they pass it on, it's not instantaneous. Allmight refers to it as passing on a flame - Deku's flame continues to grow as his own flame slowly dies out. So Deku starts out significantly weaker and Allmight only notices a slight drop in power, but over time Deku will siphon all of the power that Allmight cultivated during his possession, as well as the power that Deku is cultivating as he's training
