I've seen some on adult swim, but never had a chance to watch it from the start to the end. And it was great, i look forwards to you reacting to the live action on netflix if you ever do it.

2024-12-29 19:17:02 +0000 UTCI choose to think Spike lived, because there would be no point in seeing him crawl to the entrance otherwise. That and everything else that should have ended him, didnt xP [To add to my copium, in fortune telling "death" isnt always death, but a new self. a "death" of the old self, or ones old life. Example-Cybperunk 2077, the character "V"]

2024-12-26 14:24:02 +0000 UTCCowboy Bebop is quality for sure, but it's also one of the original "Shared Experiences" for a lot of anime fans since it was aired on cable on Cartoon Network. Evangelion is another one like that. Trigun, Outlaw Star, Inuyasha, Big O (which I love specifically for its atmosphere). For Saturday Morning Cartoons stuff like YuGiOh and Escaflowne. Early 2000s anime fans were eating good, for sure. And I think that's one of the reasons why Bebop has endured for so long in the hearts of so many fans. As for the movie, theory is that it fits in somewhere in the series somewhere around episode 23 I think. But it is also just kind of its own thing. It has some of the best art of it's era and debatably the best animated fistfight of all time. Fight choreography for Bebop was always on another level thanks to a lead passionate for martial arts. Spike is clearly using Jeet Kune Do (Bruce Lee's style) and the dog thief from the early episodes uses Preying Mantis, for example. More great music as well. I'll be looking forward to a react if/when you work it into your schedule!

2024-12-02 16:24:19 +0000 UTCThere's a couple theories that spike might've not died, and the author has said they don't know if Spike is dead or not (prob just to keep it up for interpretation). I don't think it really matters all that much to the story if he is dead or not, but I'm gonna choose the copium LMAO

2024-12-01 18:46:59 +0000 UTCMaybe in a year, you could rewatch it – I feel like the story opens up even more and means so much more with each viewing. Standing Rock, my heart goes out to him; he always ends up alone but stays strong. I’ve always felt close to Spike. Watching it multiple times has truly captured the essence of life for me. I really appreciate how much respect they show for Native culture and beliefs. As a Native person, it felt great to be seen. Laughing Bull’s line, 'Do not fear death. Death is always at our side. When we show fear, it jumps at us faster than light, but if we do not show fear, it casts its eye upon us gently and then guides us into infinity,' reminds me so much of Chief Seattle’s words: 'There is no death, only a changing of worlds.' And Chief Tecumseh's: 'When it comes time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death,' and the Tuscarora saying, 'They are not dead who live in the hearts they leave behind.' Also, this anime is one of the few where I’d say the dub was even better than the sub.

2024-11-09 21:54:41 +0000 UTCI recommend Gungrave! Much like the first Trigun anime, Gungrave is a Yasuhiro Nightow series set to a Tsuneo Imahori soundtrack. It's the closest thing anime fans have to The Godfather or Once Upon A Time In America. If Trigun is a steampunk-tinged western sci-fi, then Gungrave is a mob film meets zombie sci-fi.

2024-11-09 17:22:32 +0000 UTCThis series has everything. An incredible duo of creator and scenarist that made a story that is serious, goofy, full of action and heartfelt moments. The composer, Yōko Kanno, made a musical editing masterpiece. This is why, so many years later, the series stay relevant. The movie is really good and I think everyone who enjoys Cowboy Bebop should watch it. Also, I am not sure you realized it, but the man that go meet his mother at the airport is the ''Big Shot'' male host, the bounty hunter tv program. The series is so full of little details like these. The elderly trio that we meet everywhere. Laughing Bull, the native american that serves as a plot device a few times. I remember reading somewhere that Laughing Bull may call Spike ''Swimming Bird'' because penguins are loyal to their partners all their life. It was an incredible reaction, as always. Thank you for the quality of the work you do on these.

2024-11-09 16:20:32 +0000 UTCLoved your reactions to this series thank you for reacting to it, hope you react to the movie as well, it got me hooked into then watching the series, chronologically the movie takes place between episodes 22 and 23, so it doesn't extend the story but it's canon. Spike was John Wick before John Wick, btw the creator has left the ending open never officially saying Spike died, so fans can interpret it as they wish although there was definitely a ton of symbolism implying he died, which was poetic like you mentioned. CB is the type of series where if you re-watch it 5-10 years later you'll like it even more, it's really a timeless piece of art. I was mainly on patreon for cowboy bebop, but I also watch your current reactions to Bleach, Frieren, and DDD. If you enjoyed Cowboy Bebop, would love to see you react to Samurai Champloo at some point in the future, which is another classic series by the same creator following a similar format, a lot of one-off episodes with some episodes dedicated to a main story for the series.
