This Date in Evil Inc History

I've been doing a fun feature on my Bluesky account: This Date in Evil Inc History. Here's the entry for today:

April 2, 2014: I created a storyline that required several superhero recruits, so I asked my readers to suggest some new heroes! (The readers are credited in the yellow boxes along the bottom of the panels.)

Transcript

Evil Inc – April 1-3, 2024

Panel 1:
(Lightning Lady stands at the doorway, hands on hips, addressing Angus, who looks shocked and hesitant.)
Lightning Lady: "Don't just stand there, impersonating a guppy... Invite me in!"
Angus: "I... I..."

Panel 2:
(Lightning Lady confidently steps inside while Angus still looks uncertain.)
Lightning Lady: "Don't be so dramatic. I was in the neighborhood, so I dropped by..."

Panel 3:
(A voice calls from inside the apartment. Angus turns toward it, while Lightning Lady looks on.)
Voice from inside: "Angus, sweetie... Your breakfast is getting cold!"

Panel 4:
(Lightning Lady looks furious, her mask reflecting her anger.)
Lightning Lady: "You bastard. All this time you said you were OK with us taking things slow..."

Panel 5:
Voice from inside: "Just tell her you're sorry for getting carried away, and promise it won’t happen again!"
(Sound effect as Angus slaps his forehead: smak)

Panel 6:
(Lightning Lady storms toward the source of the voice, determined.)
Lightning Lady: "That does it! I think I’d like to meet this bimbo! Let’s see how she compares to me!"

Panel 7:
(The "other woman" is revealed to be an alternate-universe version of Lightning Lady, wearing a casual oversized t-shirt that reads: "Between the covers is where the magic happens." She looks at Lightning Lady with mild amusement. Angus stands between them, looking awkward.)
Lightning Lady: "OK... You have a type."

Panel 8:

Narration: Evil Inc Breakroom, Some Time Later

Miss Match: "Wait... So, he was cheating on you with you??"
Lightning Lady: (Looks down, visibly distressed.)

Panel 9:

(Group of Alternate-Universe Lightning Ladies in Different Outfits and Styles)

Lightning Lady (narrating): "It's a long story, but some time back*, Marquis teleported some alternate-universe versions of me. We thought we managed to get everyone home, but we musta missed one."

Miss Match (narrating): "...So, you beat the stuffing outta her, right...?"

Panel 10:

(Lightning Lady and Angus talk)

Lightning Lady: (Narration, responding.) "Just the opposite."
Lightning Lady: "Angus... you're a good guy. Losing Flashback** left me scared to let another man into my life..."

(Lightning Lady talks to Angus While Alternate-Universe Lightning Lady Stands Beside Him)

Lightning Lady: "You deserve someone who can give herself to you completely. Someone like her."

Panel 12:

Miss Match: "You... you gave up?!?"
Lightning Lady: "How am I supposed to compete with all of this?!" (Gestures at herself in exasperation.)
