Thank you for all the kind words! It's always nice to hear from people who have been emotionally impacted by my stories. I just hope you don't cut anyone's tongue out at the office! ^o^

I got into IF fairly recently, maybe a year or so ago, but in that time I've read a lot. Book 4 is the first story that made me actually sob. I wish I had known going into this series how much Ronin and Jun were going to impact me. I'd seen a comment about Jun being "the biggest, reddest flag" when it comes to love interests in choicescript games and was intrigued. I love an amoral character. I decided to give it a shot, but I didn't expect to get this emotional, damnit! Seeing everything tie together in this extra, seeing this other side to our Ronin, the brutality there after playing a completely blue ronin. And then this side of Jun, a bigger glimpse into what we already knew about him. His need to keep his family together, the desperation ... My heart broke for him, especially after seeing his capacity to change in book 4. This is probably the wrong post to unload like this, on a short story that was posted a year ago, but this is honestly cathartic for me so shhh! I made the mistake of finishing book 4 and reading this super early in the morning before work, and now I'm gonna be the most unbearably depressed bitch in the office. Like book 1/2 Jun, I'm about to make myself everyone else's problem ✌ I really truly hope we get to meet Jun again someday, give him that family he wants. But whatever happens, SOH has continuously blown me away. The characters and story here is gonna be on my mind for a long time. Thank you so much for this experience ❤

No matter how much background story I learn of Jun, I still can't hate him any less. Having been in an abusive controlling relationship I projected way too much of my ex into Jun.
