Story behind the Chun-Li Photo

I just posted this story on my Facebook, but I would love to share it here too.

I'm pretty happy with this shot, especially considering the
circumstance of when I was shooting this.

What circumstance? Well, I'm glad you asked, story time. It
was midnight time, and I just came back from a few parties so I was in semi-formal
clothing with some fancy shoes. I was just finishing doing push-up contest with
Dave Yang in the JW Marriot Hotel’s lobby (why? Jessica Nigri happened,
that’s why!), and I wanted to walk outside to get some fresh air and to cool
off from the push-ups. I walked out to the L.A. Live and was surprised to see
people still cosplaying. And then I saw a very energetic young Chun-Li
cosplayer (that I saw earlier during the day) still doing photos at this hours.

Instant debate in my head:

Voice 1: “I have never shot at this hour.”

Voice 2: “Don’t.”

Voice 1: “I just need to grab my camer…”

Voice 2: “Don’t think about it.”

Voice 1: “I’m gonna do it.”

Voice 2: “God no.”

Voice 1: “Too late!”

“Hey Chun-Li! You’re still in cosplay, wanna shot?!” I asked

obnoxiously as I approached the cosplayer. She said yes so I instantly ran back
to my hotel room to grab my camera, put all the charging batteries into my
gears and rushed down. To my surprised, she and her family was still there. And
that’s the story of how I was still shooting cosplay at midnight in LA. I know, it’s not a very exciting story, but
the picture turned out pretty good.
