Poll Results!
Added 2025-07-26 09:35:14 +0000 UTCAlright, we've got two poll results to announce! The August Story poll finished at midnight last night (well, 11:59 pm, technically), and I also closed down the Marineford Battle Poll just an hour or two ago. The latter because, well, I need to know the result so I can get writing the Halfway Broken release for the 1st :-p. Anyway, I'm going to tackle the Marineford Battle Poll first, since it's straightforward and no frills.
Marineford Battle Poll
----------------
Stick to seeing it from the Strawhat Crew POV: 63%
Show an Active POV of the Battle (Via Ace/Robin): 37%
----------------
The result was definitively in favor of the sticking to the Strawhat perspective. Frankly, while I was willing to write it either way, I'm kinda relieved by this. Combat in general isn't exactly my strong point, and the sheer chaos of a battle with a ton of powers flying around, of that scale, was kinda intimidating. The version where the Strawhats are watching and reacting to events afterward is a hell of a lot less complicated for me, while still being able to show a solid overview of events. As such, I'm rather happy with the result here, and will likely begin writing it later today.
August Story Poll
*Note: Important Note at the end of the rambling. Thank you for noticing this note about the important note below. Your noticing of this note, about the important note, has been noticed.
----------------
A Very Confused Pokémon Adventure: 103.42 + (50% Boost) = 155.13
Harry Potter: Pandora's Box: 69.59
Why Was There No Truck?!: 69.25
Mass Effect: Eridium Dreams: 65.2171
My Hero Automata: 58.59
----------------
Yeah...so this one was sort of a given about halfway through the month. I say sort of, because nothing's ever actually certain until I go in and see where all the fractional vote splits and weighed votes go. The vote splitting was particularly crazy this time around, giving me quite the concussed expression as I added things up, I suspect. This time, at least, the apparent leader was the actual leader, by enough that A Very Confused Pokémon Adventure would have won even without it's boost.
Honestly, I might need to reassess the boosts again, as it seems like they might be a bit off kilter now that there isn't one massively dominant story in the monthly poll. But I'll wait another month at least before revisiting that. It would be pretty premature to try figuring it out with only last month and this month as a sample size.
Anyway, that little aside, aside, I was pleased to see that things were mostly fairly balanced. While Pokemon Adventure won by a healthy amount, I suspect a lot of people voted for it because it was the most heavily boosted story this time. Much like Pandora's Box was previously. For those that were hoping for another result, remember Pokemon Adventure will lose it's boost next month due to getting updated. Moreover, both My Hero Automata and Why Was There No Truck?! will be getting boosts for the very first time! Eridium Dreams, of course, will continue to accrue more boost as well. Though it needed it's 30% boost just to stay competitive this time...seriously not quite sure I should even keep that story in circulation.
*Important Note* There will be a snap poll (one lasting only through midnight on the 1st) about Pokemon Adventure popping up later today! As noted for a while in the poll description, there's a fairly major choice for 2B and Zoey to make. The poll will decide which way they go after the chaos in Viridian Forest we left off with. Make sure to keep your eyes open for the poll!
