Displaced Hero - Relationship Poll Results
Added 2025-05-25 00:20:20 +0000 UTCThere is a TLDR Mark for just the critical bits. If you don't want to read the wall-of-text-explanation, skip down to where it says - TLDR Starts Here-.
Alright, everyone! I closed down the sort-of-final relationship poll for Displaced Hero a day early so I could separate this announcement from the results of the monthly poll. This one needs enough discussion that I felt it would be better not to cram them together and, frankly, there had been all of two additional votes added to it after the latest Displaced Hero release. Since there were a total of 263 votes, the additions were negligible, and I didn't see that changing. Everyone who wanted to vote seems to have done so. So...let us peek at the results first!
---------------
OC Sith Girl: 39%
No More Girls: 22%
Light Side Asajj Ventress: 15%
Asora Tuzm: 14%
Luxum - The Iron Knight: 9%

Well, that's a pretty clear victory. Not quite an outright majority, but more than double the next contender, which was just to not add another girl at all. I admit, I'm a little baffled. I never expected an original character who is, for all intents and purposes, just a sight-unseen idea, to pull a victory in a relationship poll. I've never even done an established OC in a relationship before, since I tend to assume people prefer to see canon characters involved in them :-p.
The people have spoken, however!
You lot want Hot Sith Girl goodness, so we're getting Hot Sith Girl goodness!
That said, there is a reason I called the poll out as 'sort of final' at the start of the post. Our nebulous Sith Girl is locked in to the harem/polycule now. Buuuuutttt she's a bit of a nebulous existence! We know what species she's going to be! Awesome! We also know that she's going to be a bit more of a Grey/Neutral Force User (though not an outright Darksider). However, that's all the definition I put into the idea of her for the voting.
As a result, I've been toying with possible options. It was pretty clear she was winning for the last couple of weeks, so I've had time to consider how I wanted to do this. I want to create an OC that is going to fit with what people were voting for, despite the nebulousness of the concept provided, while I also being something I feel I can write. To the end, I've been brainstorming a bit, both about how to run a follow up poll and about the character herself. I've even gone so far as booting up SWTOR, which I hadn't played in years, and running through the only one of the core stories that I've never played (Sith Inquisitor, for the curious). Which has been moderately fun, I have to admit. Even if I'm not a big fan of the story in that path so far (and hate every single one of it's companions so far), it's still been good for getting into the mindset for brainstorming a bit.
- TLDR Starts Here-
The result of all of this is that I've drawn up concepts for four possible variants of the Sith Girl character. I don't want the poll to be too spoiler heavy, so what I'm currently doing is working on creating general 'profiles' for each variant. There will be slight spoilers, since I'll be doing a brief background blurb to explain where each one would come from. Aside from that, however, I'll also be including some general details for each one. Such as their skill sets (Force and Otherwise), general personality traits, and...well...kinks and switch/sub orientation. I'm not blind to the fact you lot are perverts, you know. It's okay, I obvious am too ;-).
Anyway, all of that massive wall of text to say: Within the next few days, hopefully on the 26th or 27th, there will be a new poll up. It will include the profiles I'm working on and allow people to vote on which variant sounds the most interesting. Hopefully, this will work to refine the idea into something that actually matches what people were hoping for.
One final note, just since I mentioned playing SWTOR for ideas. No, none of the ideas will be either of the Sith playable characters from SWTOR. Frankly, both of them get far too hideously powerful for that. There may be some story tie-ins related to them with a couple of the options though ;-).

Yes. They have to be a trained Force user in some capacity, as that was literally one of the only two characteristics that I provided in the description for the poll. That doesn't mean they are fully trained, but they will have had at least some training. There is no need to mess with cloning or escaped experiments. There are at least two sources of living Sith alive during the Era this is set in. The Sorcerers of Tund are still around, being mixed descent of pure Sith, Massassi and Kissai. And The Lost Tribe of Sith, though they hybridized to the point of barely being recognizably Sith, a genetic oddity could still be fairly Sith Pureblood looking. At least one, possibly two, of the profiles will be from these sources.

2025-05-25 01:50:19 +0000 UTCDo they have to actually be force-trained? Whether or not they are "strong enough" to make training worthwhile, what if they haven't actually had any kind of training in the force formal or otherwise. Might be fun to have a more soldier/commando/etc type character that just had "knack for combat" and "hunches" and maybe some telekinetic "tricks" all the while missing that their resiliency, strength, etc are also from the force. Or maybe they don't even know it is the force. The general public doesn't know all that much about the Jedi/what the force is/can do. Part of their introduction/start of their relationship could come from asking Izuku to train her and/or because being around him makes her relax/be less angry. Especially if she doesn't even know what species she is, just that as time passed she seems to just keep getting angrier and angrier and more and more aggressive at lesser provocations. It's the Dark Side influencing her more and more as time goes on, likely from unknowingly tapping into it at times/during some stressful situations and/or because the Veil has been growing stronger. But being around Izuku clears the Dark side away, and she feels like she can breath again and he can do things she wants to learn (would be cool for Izuku to teach someone else his telekinetic fighting style/have someone else able to use the shield units and to see Izuku as a teacher. Plus, he is a Non-jedi, and thus his teaching a Sith cannot get Him in trouble with the Order in the same way any of the jedi doing so might). Just some ideas to promote possibility for a non-time travel origin. Celeste has already been "brought forward", and Ood Bnar has been "revived", and Fay is centuries old (not to mention Yoda, but that's because he isn't really a part of Izuku and company's story) so it feels like you've got enough "personage from the past" characters. I'd think a clone/escaped experiment (whether she herself escaped, or someone else escaped with her as an infant or something) would be more interesting (plus she could have been created in an Arkanian lab, which could bring them in as a secondary source of cloning, especially as I am pretty sure there is a lost Sith Temple on their ice planet homeworld, so her genetic material could have been found in some ice flow or something). Feel free to disregard or use any/all of this. I just wanted to put out a different possibility to the SWTOR game as an origin/basis for the character. Just because she is Sith species doesn't mean she has to have any connection to Sith society or culture- be that the force-faction, pre-baneite Sith, or the Sith species society/culture. And to bring up the fun possibility, at least for me to think about, of her not even knowing what species she is to start with.
