My Hero Automata 132-134

Whew! Wasn't sure I was going to quite make this on my regular schedule. Mostly because of the editing, really. The writing was done in time, but the editing pass I struggled to squeeze in. Anyway, I managed, even if I'm a bit wiped out and a bit less than confident in the quality of those edits.

Anyway! We get some insight into how things are going with the African Front and the Mech Armor test deployments in this set, along with some more views of the expansion efforts both in Orbit and on the ground. I always stuck in a nice bit of slice-of-life in the form of a very casual sort of date at the end, which also just so happens to show how life for regular people is shifting a bit. A decent set of chapters, all the way around.

As always, the new chapters are attached here in various formats. While you can find the Master Files containing the entire story in the Pinned Post. Enjoy!

P.S. Art isn't mine, but is amazing! It's by KrystalizedArt. I went looking for Goth Momo examples, and like that one so much that the story description is actually based entirely on her appearance in the artwork.

Good Lord Momo...I approve! Edit 1: …that had priority coverage “do” to… …that had priority coverage “due” to… Edit 2: Just try not to get “to” close… Just try not to get “too” close… Edit 3: …from a stunned Akira as she “starred” along… …from a stunned Akira as she “stared” along…

*blinks in confusion and points to the numerous parts of the fic where they mention turning skyscrapers into vertical farms* They've been doing that in the cities for a while, though they are still unable to fully offset the need for some farmland. Most of the orbitals with people in them will also have at least a modest vertical hydroponics bay to ease strain on environmental systems. I may mention it as something the labs experiment with, as well, since doing it in Zero-G at any scale would be a new challenge.

The mention of food has made me think about how much space crops take up, that’s a lot of area that needs protecting, not to mention how it’s be useful to explore for space as well It shouldn’t be too hard to design a vertical farm and explore all that hydroponics and stuff
