Sorry about the last-minute release folks, Easter weekend took a lot more out of me than expected, and I only just got the edits finished for this like 20 minutes ago. Still, it's a solid set of chapters that I'm happy with, and technically it's on the usual release date :-p. Very technically...
Anyway, the release is 14,500 words, which seems to be an annoying theme this month. But, much like the others that have taken just shy of my technical 'target word count' it was simply a case of where the story ended naturally. If I'd have had enough time, I'd have cheerfully written another chapter and gone over target rather than under. But, well, that hasn't been the case this month.
Regardless, we get quite a few different perspectives, some more encounters with Shaak Ti to start building the potential up there (since she's currently winning this round of the relationship poll). Some progress for Celeste's quest to find the Sith in the background, a reveal about the Trade Federation that's going to cause consternation in certain people, and more...
As always, the new bits of story are attached here in various formats, and I'll be updating the Master Files in the Pinned Post shortly. There will also be a fair few Author's Notes in the comments, once I have some time to write them up! Enjoy more of Displaced Hero!

Both of those can be countered with moderate competence in the force. No. It's a Lazer that fires in a triangle formation. The speed and ammo capacity of your standard blaster, now paired with the fact that you can't block more than 2 bolts at a time.

2025-04-23 22:00:07 +0000 UTCEh. Technically they could, since Izuku and Co are now more fully aware that you don't need a high midi-count for Force Use. To be honest, though, I can't see Padme making time for it. Despite her occasional moments of pretending she's an Action Girl, the reality is that she's primarily a politician. Much like EU/Legends Leia, I doubt she'd really bother learning more than the basics even if she was fully Force Sensitive. 'Following the Force' doesn't really align with her personality. Which is, in a way, honestly more Sith than Jedi. Since she regularly charges off and demands that the galaxy conform to her will, rather than the other way around. Sabe might be a different story, though. Possibly. Maybe?

I think both her and Sabe would be great π as Force sensitives! In any case I'm looking forward to reading much more of this greatly interesting story!
