STAR TREK "Mirror,Mirror" Watch Along

Comments

OOOOO!!!

Amalia Wolf

"Mirror Mirror" casts a *very* long shadow in the rest of the Trek series. I know it doesn't appear in Next Generation, but there are at least *three* other series (and multiple episodes) in which the echoes of this episode appear.

Ken Schneyer

Love this!! Lol I for sure need to watch dom Batman oldies!!

Amalia Wolf

"Holy Heckenbombs!" (did I spell that right? Did you invent that expression? I'm using that! :D) / I love the Space Lady "opera" version of the theme song! I always miss her when watching first season episodes!/I'm sure you know this already but the first interracial kiss on TV was between Kirk and Uhura. Don't remember the episode, but I'm sure it's another one of those where they're acting unlike themselves! lol. When you watch the actual series, these kinds of episodes are spaced apart! It's not like every episode we meet an emoting Spock!/ I'm not really a "Trekkie" and, although I love the second movie and like a couple of others, I really just love this original series, so if you ever feel like getting that simultaneous jones for a little brain food mixed with classic 60s kitsch, throw on one of these (or one of the old Batman episodes!) any ole time! / And yes, the "Vulcan Mind Meld" is definitely a thing! (Thanks, Ames!)

Tic Toc Melody

She's doing that very episode next week! One of my faves!

Another great reaction! The episode "Journey to Babel" is a must see if you're going to watch the original Star Trek movies.

kenneth brown

I will watch! Not sure if I will react! Iโ€™ll see what I can do! I think it was Discovery! It was an alien audition! Fun but challenging :)

Amalia Wolf

Thank you, Ames. Another great ST classic episode and reaction. I love re-watching this amazing series with a newbie ST fan. Ames, I'm only now understanding that you tried out for a part on one of the new Star Trek series on Paramount. Was it Star Trek: Strange New Worlds? I love that series. It is the story of Captain Christopher Pike. I would recommend watching "The Menagerie" episode to get Pikes backstory and how he fits into this universe. In any case, I look forward to Journey to Babel.

Patrick Reynolds

Hahahah! Right! She prob wonโ€™t haha

Amalia Wolf

What a great episode and reaction, Ames!! I think Spock looked great with a beard! He was one badass-looking Vulcan! And Uhura was rockin' that outfit! Now that Uhura is back in her proper universe, I wonder if she'll ever look at Sulu quite the same way again! ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Yes, we've seen it once before in these episodes. T'Pau briefly mind-melds with Spock when he greets her in Amok Time. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H919_o6Jw44&t=80s)

John Courtright

I'm afraid that if you haven't seen The Menegerie to understand how Pike fits into this universe then you are at least one credit short to graduate from Star Fleet Academy. Just sayin'

Aaron Chandler

Another super fun one! The touch Spock used on McCoy near the end was a "mind-meld" which lets him read someone's thoughts and feelings. It's the other major Vulcan ability besides the neck pinch.

I love it! Haha I think it would be so fun to do as an actor.. show ur range! LOL

Amalia Wolf

Never been such a big fan of the evil twin, body/personality swapping kinda tropes, but this one is pretty fun. Will line it up for this evening.

Can't wait to see this one, Ames!!
