Thank you for the link - I added them at the bottom of the list. Skimming titles on the way down, I only saw three or four of the sixteen I listed on anyone else's submissions. There were quite a few other duplications between other member's lists, so I went ahead and put all mine on - maybe the number of people who suggest a title is input in decided if you need to choose based on a film's popularity?

Late for this round on the poll ( make sure to get your votes in for the polls up right now) but you can add these to the doc for “ the wheel of wonder spin” I’ll add the link https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1r_XFnG7Bd7BpENxyrGJ9yfq_zRwHtPlYlBudRMhhJ7g/edit?usp=sharing

2023-12-26 21:11:54 +0000 UTCLate to the party on this one – been preoccupied working on a comatose truck engine. Anyway, here are my nominations, if it’s not too late. For whatever it’s worth, here are my top eight in each category - I probably am too late, but maybe these could go into the hopper for future consideration: MUM: A mix of genres, eras, and tones #1: Twelve Angry Men (either the 1957 original OR the 1997 remake) – tense jury drama #2: Molly’s Game (2017) – true story of a star athlete turned underground gambling entrepreneur #3: Breach (2007) – another true story, this one about a mole in the FBI #4: The Outpost (2019) – a third true story, set in the Afghanistan war #5: Robin and Marian (1976) – Robin Hood and Maid Marian after he returns from the Crusades #6: Predestination (2014) – a twisty science fiction story about time travel, free will, and consequences of decisions #7: The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) – the stories of three service members after World War II and their readjustment to civilian life #8: Defiance (2008) – a fourth true story, this one of a community of Polish Jews hiding from the Nazis in the forest CC: #1: True Detective, Season One (2014) – you may have seen this, but I had to include it – Southern Gothic detective story with possibly the strongest performances ever given by Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey, and a great turn by Michelle Monaghan. Eight episodes, so not a long one. Couldn’t quit thinking about it for days afterward. #2: Repo Man (1984) – Probably the weirdest thing Harry Dean Stanton ever did, and that’s saying something. #3: To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything – Julie Newmar (1995) – Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes, and John Leguizamo as drag queens on a road trip – heartwarming! #4: Warm Bodies (2013) – a love story between a living girl and a zombie boy. #5: Stranger Than Fiction (2006) – what do you do when you realize you are a character in a novel whose author is thinking about killing you off? What would Will Ferrell do? #6: Colossal (2016) – what do you do when you realize your actions control a giant monster rampaging in Seoul? #7: Spectral (2016) – a military ghost story. #8: Sorcerer (1977) – a tense action film in a jungle setting with great action, cast, and story (and a killer soundtrack by Tangerine Dream.)
