2022-07-18 01:02:08 +0000 UTCMy interpretation of What If is, he has always been, and BTS in general, their message has always been of hope and loving yourself, but he's kind of thinking, if u did not have this success and glory now, can you really preach that to other people?? Is this the real you?? If you take away the success and glory, will u still be able to preach these messages? Something like that. Like he's conflicted about his intentions and his sincerity in a way.. Doubting i guess what kind of person he really is. What If and Safety Zone and Stop are such heavy songs and im so grateful that Hobi was able to be as vulnerable as he wants in this album. The message, lyricism, storyline, rap flows and beats, the vocals.. And just him taking the challenge of a total 360 from Hope World.. APPLAUSE!!! He created just a beautiful piece of art. THANK YOU HOBI FOR SHARING IT TO THE WORLD! 🙏

2022-07-17 18:35:30 +0000 UTCQOTD: My top three from my first listen even w/o having the lyrics yet: Equal Sign, What If, Future I'm telling u when the Intro started i already had the goosebumps. Im a sucker for mythology and him starting the album about the story of Pandora's Box which is also the same story that led him to have the name "J-Hope", that was just GENIUS! Major chefs kiss!!! And I think Equal Sign is really the RUN BTS of this album hahahah. It's just everyone's favorite. On my first listen i loved it because of hobi flexing them vocals and then when i read the lyrics i just loved it 100 zillion times more!! And on his vlive he said this: "I sing English in the middle. I may not be very good at English but I can sing in English. And someone may not be very good in Korean, but they can sing in Korean. Like that we are equal." LET ME JUST CRYYYY!!! The message and his intention with this song is just the most beautiful ever... It's a crime at this point that this song is only 1 min. 50 sec.. but wowww it's such a masterpiece! 😭

Rap and even Hip-hop these days sound the f**king same, there's no substance, most talk about d*ugs, booze, s*x, it has no meaning. Hobi metaphorically took a crime and used it as a title. He lit the b***h. The flow, the cadence... The deliverance! He's untouchable, people in the game should be scared of him, scared of them. He's not messing around 😂

2022-07-16 13:28:12 +0000 UTCfuture is one of my top songs right now - the just going with the flow gives me so much comfort, then the children's choir and the outro always give me the chills every time i listen to it! i'm also obsessed with safety zone, equal sign and stop, but there are literally no skips in this album and the topics that he talks about are so important and deep.. his pen game is everything!! he really created a masterpiece with this album and i'm just at a loss of words <3 can't wait for lollapalooza aaaaaa

I love every song but my fave is “Equal Sign.” I love the beat, his vocals, the lyrics, & the message hobi was conveying. "It costs you nothing to be kind." “The world's so big but people's minds are narrow. Why is it a crime to be different when there's no need to be absolutely the same?” I LOVE this song!!

From top to bottom the album itself tells us a story from the beginning of him becoming j-hope and where he see hisself in the future still burning with passion no matter what.

And Hoseok seemed so happy 😭😭 Jin and JK were there representing the introverts, Jin listen to the songs then went to a corner and read webtoon/ played games lol, and Jk were in his corner with his drink and only interacted when people went to him really in all the videos he was in the same place 😂 Unfortunately Yoongi got a cold and couldn't attend it :((, Hobi said he was so excited even said he was going to wear makeup and everything but he got sick and had a fever and for fear of being Covid he chose to not go 🥺 (fortunately it was not, and he as soon as Hobi said it went to weverse to say we shouldn't worry 😭) And tomorrow we got Jhope's vlog, it seems is related to the album my guess is maybe showing him recording the songs but let's see!!!

But i love too how he said "With my fans, with my label, with my fellaz" this is the people that's important to him and is beside him, no one else When i have more clear thoughts about what the songs means to me, I'll come back here lol, for now i can only feel and love it 😅

The message of equality is so beautiful, and so important, idk if you know but recently Korea had presidential elections and the man who won is a very homophobic and misogynistic so him "explicitly" talking about it says a lot!!! And What If, gosh, i think he's kinda like talking to himself "if you didn't have all of it, the fame etc, would you still talk about this?" Kinda like thinking about his "privileges" i think, about the things he gained from fame, popularity and stuff It's always hard for me to explain what I'm feeling from the songs, because English is not my first language so i think I'll say something wrong or can't fully express what I'm thinking 😭

The songs are so good, I'll be honest even tho it's been like a whole day already i still can't process this!!! It's just so deep and meaningful, i just know I love him so much and he's an amazing artist!!! So versatile, he sings, raps, everything and the change in the "style" in a way because it's still heavily Hip-hop but more dark, he's just so good!!! 2022-07-16 02:01:55 +0000 UTCi've seen so many interpretations of "what if" and mine was that it's about how sometimes Hobi feels pressured to put on his hopeful persona when sometimes he doesn't have any hope (like is depressed) especially after re-reading the first verse lyrics, but then the 2nd verse makes me think maybe it's about how he's not sure if he'd still be hopeful/bright if he had nothing

2022-07-16 01:21:42 +0000 UTCthe way i interpreted “what if” is Hobi questioning himself that if he didn’t have things like passion and dreams, or even money, houses and cars, would he still be able to be hopeful and love himself? I got this from the line that said “can you still tell people to love yourself and have hope if it means all of those things will be taken from you and you’ll be at the bottom?” That’s why I really love that song. It’s such a vulnerable question to ask yourself, and it inspired me to ask myself that question too.

Because you'll pause to watch the In the Soop, but i think this one is important to watch now, together with the one in Japan etc it's ok if it's a long video, i don't think we mind!! This is the one where they get emotional and talk about their difficult times, i think it shouldn't be "pushed" to after 4 weeks idk

The flow switches cadence, different beats, lyrics, transitions in between the songs, the samples used, etc. familia this is a masterpiece. im so proud of him😭👏
