I was expecting this confrontation between Dekku and Bakugo since seasons now, so for sure I was glad to have it now. But I never thought that Bakugo would open himself that much during the conversation and all of what he would reveal. He really thinks that it's because of him that All Might lost all of his power, he's blaming himself for that since it happened and he never said it. I saw something during the "ultimate move" episode that he was feeling weird when he almost hurt All Might, and it was clearly for that : he feels guilty of All Might being weak, he almost hurt him and it's Dekku who saved him, Dekku that he was already suspecting.
The fact that Bakugo waited that long to confront Dekku already proves he evolved. Ok, after that, he wanted to fight him, because he's still Bakugo : he didn't know how to deal with his bad feelings so he expressed them with only anger against Dekku, he wanted to see Dekku using the quirk, to check if All Might was right, to understand why he chose Dekku and not him… I think All Might answered a lot of his questions at the end. And All Might almost hugged a Bakugo crying… YES I WAS CRYING AT THE SAME TIME, COME OOOON.

Yes, I saw Bakugo evolving during this season but I was waiting to see him revealing it to others, and also to himself. You're right about comparing Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia which both have the nicest characters as main hero, but also who are choosing to begin things with little kids so we can see them growing up as persons and as heroes.

2023-11-07 12:42:55 +0000 UTCI'm really glad you were able to appreciate Bakugo's growth. Because his evolution is mostly internal, it can be hard to spot for some. Like you, I really also appreciated this episode because it gave us a clearer picture of what's in Bakugo's heart and how he's been struggling with his own feelings of insecurity. I don't know if I mentioned this before, but one of the many reasons why I like both My Hero Academia and Demon Slayer is because we, the viewers, are made to understand that the protagonists are still going through a development stage. They're still getting stronger, better, wiser, and just more mature and older. There are a lot of other anime where the characters, despite being in high school, are already godlike in their abilities and decision making as though they've been through so much in life already. So it's always such a treat for me to watch this type of character growth as they evolve to better versions of themselves, not just their powers, but also in their person. I am looking forward for your reactions to these as well as you move forward with the series.
