I was really disturbed by Denis' decision to leave. And proud at the same time, and also a little afraid. It shocked me because the moment was clearly traumatic for him, he saw that kid dead on the floor and he couldn't be the one to take the life of the other one. And then, he said the truth to Avon, he came clean with that, and that was a surprise for me. But I was glad he decided to quit, by himself, he made that choice and because of that, maybe this time he can truly do it.

McNulty has what he wants at the end, after fighting for so long to convince Daniels to go after Stringer (without succeeding). But he doesn't know that his main target is no longer the boss : Avon is back and it didn't take him a long time to see what is going on, and that Stringer dealt with it badly. At least like a businessman would, and not like a real player of THE game.
