HoHH Roadmap '21 - Short-Term
Added 2021-06-14 22:45:18 +0000 UTCA bit delayed. My first attempt at this was a rambling mess, so I thought I'd break it into chunks so I can properly focus on features/harlots/etc I'd like to add in the short-, medium- and long-term.
v0.019 of "House of Hellish Harlots" was released at the start of June. This was a bit of a milestone release as it removes the last of the scaffold and placeholder code. This is what we currently have:
- Intro/Character Generation.
- Core Game Loop (harlot presentation, pre-room activities, harlot scenario, post-room activities, repeat).
- All the main 'vendor' NPCs:
- The Madam (mulligan tokens, harlot socialising)
- The Elegant Woman (harlot hints)
- The Portly Gentleman (source of money)
- Nurse Honey (semen replenishment, cure ailments)
- The Doctoress (stats-altering potions, money for semen)
- The Buxom Lolibaba (multi-purpose charms)
- The Barman (advice – early game only)
- 31 harlot scenarios.
This is roughly the first 3rd of the game. Depending on which harlots a player picks, the demo handles the first 4-7ish rounds.
My plan for the full game is to have 13 rounds with an end "Queen" to get past in the 13th round. There will be multiple Queens and a large enough roster of harlots for each playthrough to be different. It will also be extensible, with me (or others) being able to add new harlot 'packs' later on.
That's still some way off, so let's start with the short-term goals.
VERSION 0.020 – PUBLIC DEMO VERSION
v0.019 did get rid of all the scaffold and placeholder harlots, but there were a bunch of corner case bugs I wasn't able to fix. v0.020 will be v0.019 with all the fixes plus corrections for the various typos people have spotted and brought to my attention.
PUBLIC DEMO
I want a public non-paywalled version out there (technically they already exist, but I want an official one). This is to raise the level of interest so I can gauge whether to take the project further and hire artists, etc.
I want patrons to be rewarded for supporting me, so I'll probably maintain a degree of timed exclusivity. Patrons will get the new versions a month or two before everyone else and have some say in development.
Initially, I wanted to create a website and host the latest public version on that. That might be a little trickier than I first thought. Admittedly, my thoughts I could just dump the raw .html into a WordPress site were a little naïve. It's a bit more complex than that!
I'm still looking into various options. Putting it on itch.io seems to be a popular solution, although that feels a little too public considering this is a work in progress. It would feel like showing my underwear off in public.
This is still something I'm looking into. For now I'll continue to provide patrons with the latest releases as .html downloads.
COVER ART
With the public demo in mind, I'm aware I need some artwork, even if it's just a single piece I use as either a thumbnail on itch.io or the background of a webpage. This is outside my wheelhouse, so any suggestions gratefully received.
MORE HARLOTS
I had some restrictions on what harlots to add for v0.019 for reasons I'll go into for the medium-term post. Now that v0.019 is out, I have a bit more freedom. Here are the harlot scenarios I'm currently working on:
- Executrix Boob Smotherer
- Sexy Spy Femme Fatale Hand/Glove Smotherer
- Nuru Nuru Girl
- Dancing Glass Doll/Mannikin
- Black 'Symbiote'
- Red 'Symbiote'
- Dancing Lamia
- Mindflayer Girl
This has slightly more focus than before and I'll talk about how the harlots are going to be grouped into factions in the next post.
1st 'MID-BOSS' HARLOT
I want the NPCs to have scenes and I think they should be slightly larger and more complex than the usual scenario. I know people want to see Nurse Honey here, but I'm still figuring out what her scenario should be (I have ideas), while Temptacia is roughly plotted out. I'll probably use Temptacia as a proof-of-concept and hope it won't tie me up for a while month.
Anyway, these are my plans for the next couple of months. I'll post the medium-term plans in a couple of days.

I'll leave off until they come out. There's always a chance I find a harlot/scenario doesn't work and have to abandon it or push it back, and I don't want to disappoint people that were looking forward to that idea.

2021-06-17 08:21:51 +0000 UTCShort term is next month and a half to two months. Medium term will be longer goals for the next big release - likely a path that sees an option to escape the house. Cover image is definitely something I need to get sorted, especially if only public option is itch.io. I'm still not sure what to do there. My past attempts at finding artists have been fairly hit and miss. Definitely want to give Nurse Honey a scene (or more) fairly soon. I think that will draw more people in and at least give long-suffering Succubus Summoning fans something.

2021-06-16 10:16:19 +0000 UTCI really liked this post and all the short term goals make sense (what does short term mean btw? 3months? more?). Whats really nice is the idea of a cover image. A good artist would be Setouchi, or another artist over at skeb. You already did a request when it comes to Setouchi and as far as I can remember you really liked that one. I dont know if you have any ideas for a cover image already, but I can see something like the cover for Succubus Academia working very well. Just imagine an image with the Madam, the Doctoress, the Elegant Lady, the Buxom Lolibaba and Nurse Honey. When it comes to the first mid-boss harlot I think it is a good idea to go with Temptacia. Obiously I would like to see Nurse Honey, but that scenario has to be special. Not just because it is Nurse Honey, but also because I think you have bigger ideas when it comes to her and her role in the House and whatever quest comes with her. Im just hoping that her scenario wont come in like 3 years from now :DD

2021-06-15 20:21:16 +0000 UTCHad one minor concern. Assphyxia (assuming ass-smother) was supposed to be a rival of Suffocatrix Mammilia, but is not yet in game. Yet Assphyxia is still mentioned in Mammalia's thread as well as that of at least one other harlot. Don't think it's a game breaker, but it's still noticeable.
