House of Hellish Harlots - Update 4th Jan '20

It being the holiday period, it was another week of working things around family commitments. At the moment I'm working on getting the next batch of harlots out ASAP.
One thing I have to be careful of is drifting too far from the original plan of having external factors (stats, gift choice, attitude) determine how the scenarios play out. The two harlots I'm working on at the moment have multiple scenes depending on player choice, which is good to have for some, but I need to follow the "Monster Girl Quest" model of 'one Bad End scene per girl' a little closer otherwise it will take me forever to finish this!
A couple of more detailed scenes won't hurt, though (and when I go a little over on the 1st draft text, it's normally additional material I can hold back for another harlot idea).
Here's the update on the current harlots:
Pix Decipula ('lazy' succubus): Fully typed up and onto implementation.
I went a little overboard with Pix. Typed up, her scenario came to 5.2K words even after chopping out one scene to use for another succubus idea.
Couchelaxa ('mystery'): 1st draft written. A good chunk typed up.
Also went a little overboard here. One of her Bad End scenes was 7 notebook pages, which is a bit too wall-of-text for this project. Have to rein back those excesses! She's a little weird, especially her dialogue, so it will be interesting to see how people react to her.
('messy fluids' succubus): 1st draft in progress.
She also has multiple scenes.
('boob smother' succubus): To write.
She should be more straightforward, although her 'triggers' will be a little harder to work out for the player.
Boobella ('big booby' succubus): To write.
Her idea also calls for multiple scenes, so I might swap her out for a more straightforward harlot (maybe 'countdown' succubus) and move her to the next batch as I'm a little late already with this batch.
Now that we're through the holidays, I'm hoping to get back up to full speed again so I can get these out ASAP.

2020-01-07 22:15:25 +0000 UTCI'm going to wait until I have the foundations in place (intro redone and all NPCs except maybe the barman added), then I'll throw it open for patrons to suggest scenarios. I won't be able to do everything, because writing erotica when the subject matter isn't a turn-on is hard. Big boobs and lactation will be fine. I do like big boobs! As for the Japanese eroges, translation is a mess at the moment. I haven't been able to play them as much as I'd like because the auto-translation tools I was familiar with keep getting blocked by operating system patches and translation websites. Fortunately, quite a few of the better games have decent fan translations. "Monster Girl Quest"/"Monmusu Quest" has a bit of everything for everyone. "Lust Grimm" is also pretty good and might suit your fetishes as the creator of that definitely likes big boobs. =together= did a pretty good translation and are also on Patreon.

Secondly, if I were looking into getting into those erotic JRPG games like Monmusu, what game and translation service should I start with, assuming I know nothing about computers or games and assuming that I have a HUGE lactation fetish?

2020-01-06 01:34:36 +0000 UTCI'm hoping so. I'm aware I like a certain "kind" of succubus, so I've been consciously trying to vary the personalities. I will be taking feedback on board, so if it starts to feel like the scenarios are getting same-y, that's when to shout at me. At some point I will throw it open for patrons to pitch in their own scenario ideas. That should also act as a safety valve if I end up with 13 types of slime girl (my fav non-succubus monster girl) and 0 harpies. :D

2020-01-05 01:23:01 +0000 UTCI did consider it, but I think it would detract from the game idea. People would just brute force all the scenario variations as each harlot came out. The overall plan for the game is to present the player with so many options they'd always be surprised with something new, even on subsequent playthroughs. If I thought I could get away with it, I'd slow the releases down and have them contain greater number of harlots to keep that "freshness". I think that would result in too long of a gap between releases though. Ironic. I always thought ToroToroResistance should have released Monster Girl Quest in short, regular chapter chunks. It's how I would have likely done that game idea. This idea is a little different, though, and probably best experienced as the player going straight in and getting an overwhelming selection of succubi and monster girls. It would likely require me going dark for a year with no funding, so it's probably not feasible to create the project that way.

2020-01-04 16:25:22 +0000 UTCNot yet. It will be as soon as 5 harlots are implemented and tested. By next week might be too tight. The week after seems more feasible. It depends how complex the other 3 are. Both Couchelaxa and Pix's scenarios went a little longer than they should.
