Iove that you briefly became indignant on Tuco's behalf when Hank and Gomez said they accused him of killing Krazy 8.

Loved your reaction to this as always. Like you, I am watching this for the first time and finally understand the hype. I actually went ahead after the last reaction and watched this episode cause I didn't want to wait then came back and watched it again with your reaction which made it even better!
The shoot out was a fantastic sequence for demonstrating how shockingly fast and unexpectedly these situations occur in real life. The chaos of the massive amount of rounds being exchanged without any hits and the use of movement and cover by Hank and Tuco
was brilliant. The most awesome detail was during the brief lull when Hank is set up for the kill shot behind his door you can see his pistol shaking in his hands though he is braced like a rock and his concentration is locked in. This is due to the massive adrenaline dump from what has exploded in his face with no warning. Brilliant detail!!
When Hank is giving the locker room speech at the the beginning it is the same dynamic as a football team because of the dangers and hardships these Law Enforcement teammates share with each other on a daily basis. They are as close as family and in some cases closer. In elites units like this it is the same type of camaraderie you find in front line military units.
And yes he was ginning it up some to help everyone
loosen up and have a good time.

I love the exasperation at the realization this is only Episode 2.
Granted, this was supposed to be the finale of Season 1, and this is still supposed to be one of the "slow" seasons... but this show gives no fucks about when something is supposed to happen by traditional TV standards. Half the episodes in Season 3 would be season finales in any other show. "How is/are [x] gonna get out of this?" and "Where do we even go from here?" were alternate working titles before they settled on "Breaking Bad".

How does it keep getting better… because you’re watching once in a life time levels of writing and attention to detail. Honestly this is really only the beginning, but an absolutely fabulous episode!! 🔥

“How does it keep getting more intense?” That is a question that was asked many times throughout this series.

Hitchcock himself would've been proud of how they used that bell.

I love this early episode. Masterclass in tension. That bell still gives people nightmares.

I’m watching this for the first time with you as well and I’ve been told by many people that each season just gets better and better.
