To answer your question about stunt doubles; they cast hockey players and taught them how to act instead of the other way around. Another interesting tid bit related to that; Buzz Schneider was played by his son Billy Schneider.

Every citizen in the US needs to remember we are the greatest nation in the world. We need not talk bad about our nation to other nations, but work on ourselves. We have so many freedoms yet we abuse them at times. I am cheering for our nation in this years Olympics and praying for us as a nation. God Bless the USA. "We have a chance once again to belive"

One thing I noticed this time is that in the movie it feels like the Soviets are HAMMERING the US goal. I was curious if this was accurate, or Hollywood drama so I fact checked it: the Soviet team got more than twice as many shots off as the US team. Soviet shots on goal: 39 US shots on goal: 16 Makes me love the move even more.

He was an oscar for best director and best film . it's very good. Highly recommend it. Al Michaels commentary throughout this film is all the real commentary. Which makes this even more cool. All that aside. Sadly, Michael Mantenuto the kid that played Jack O'Callahan (the one that got injured against Russia in NY. Sadly, took his life. He was a staff Sergeant with a special forces group. PTSD is horrible.

2026-01-29 02:41:33 +0000 UTCI love this movie so much. I remember these times vividly. I was in 8th grade when this game was played and regret that I did not see the entire game. I, unfortunately, was not confident enough to think we could beat the Russians considering the 10-3 loss earlier. So I went to our schoolโs weekly Friday night dance instead of staying home to watch the game. As I was leaving one of the teachers asked if we were going to go see the end of the game. I said it probably doesnโt matter because weโre probably losing. He didnโt say what was happening, he just said โWell, itโs pretty close.โ I lived a little less than a mile from the school so I started running. When I walked in the door, I saw the score was 4-3 and there was about four minutes to go. When we won I absolutely went nuts. I also remember watching the medal ceremony and cheering so wildly when Rizzo called them up to the podium. Ever since that game, I have been an eternal optimist. Thank you for sharing this. And you closing thoughts are so appreciated. We are the United States of America and we so need to come to some understanding and reunite. The division thatโs going on is so disheartening. I pray that we will come together our senses. With the upcoming Olympic Games, maybe there will be another Miracle moment than will inspire us to bond together again. Weโve done it before and we WILL do it again. AGAIN! AGAIN! AGAIN!
