dev log #29, sneek peek at UI and a roadmap
Added 2024-11-04 19:38:02 +0000 UTCHi hello! Hope you're all well. Things are happening!! This past week I was so out cold from the flu I had to focus on "just" working, and since I noticed that the engagement for healers hands dropped I just decided not to stress about it too much. This weekend I got swept away on a surprise Halloween trip to a llama ranch (!!) here in Sweden AND when I got back my brother stopped by with a laptop that had a copy of Dragon Age The Veilguard on it. To say that it soothed me and that this past weekend restored some hope in me is a grave understatement. I'm extatic. Eep!!
Now, this week is when things truly start happening. On Thursday, the fiber guys are coming to pull an internet cable down to the house (I've been working with my phone hotspot, if you didn't know), and before that we are rearranging so that I can fit a desk and a chair in here where I have enough outlets (it is very tiny). I also have a heater now :] it's very cozy, but I would be lying if I said that it was easy. Every night is just pure dread and fear, but I can promise that I'm doing what I can to just keep swimming. But hey, all that remains is getting a new PC of my own. It won't be an expensive one, or a high end one, but one that is mine. Thanks to your help, and that of you ko-fi donators out there, I can pay half in cash and do the rest on interest free payments! As soon as that PC gets here I'm diving straight into ouroboros development again. I have all the writing, unfortunately none of the art I made myself but I am going to Canva like no one has Canvaed before, and I'm trying to get into my Git to find the coding skeleton I made before; I don't have high hopes for that, just so you know. The builds I backed up were very early either way, so I'm trying to not get down about it. The only heartbreaking thing that is lost, is a lot of editing and dev notes in latter chapters. And my notebooks with some really important notes. I cry every time I think about it, so I'm trying to just ignore it, and push forward.
All that matters now is to rewrite the first chapters of ouro and get that coded into a demo, and hope that everything else resolves as I navigate the legal processes to get all my stuff back. And all of this is happening while I'm fervently looking for a new apartment (if you don't follow me on Tumblr, the apartment I was hunting was denied in the final moment because I hadn't been employed for 27 days more-- there was a threshold they wouldn't budge on even though I had a sizeable deposit. Sad times.) I'm also still working 2 really shit jobs, and going on interviews for full time work, so everything is still very go-go-go. I'm so happy I get to wind down with dragon age at night, y'all, you don't understand. I feel like I'm trapped in a tornado, just spinning, spinning. Wherever I will be put down, it sure as hell won't feel like Kansas. But that's it! I will keep you guys updated with dev logs as I dwelve into development of ouro again, and if you want to see any extra material, do tell me about it! Send me an anon and I will see what I can do! Otherwise, until then, I'm dwelving into Canva every free second I have, to create another gorgeous gui for OUROBOROS. Here's a taste of the aesthetic I will be going for:
:> See you soon! x

I'm so happy you think so! I'm very happy with it too, and I think this new version looks better in many ways than the earlier iterations, where I felt like I was trying too many different styles at the same time-- I was never pleased enough to show it off! This is very scaled back, and a lot cleaner. It really is as they say, less is more!
