Weekly dev log #9, August 7th 2023

A duller one this week because I find myself running short on vocabulary, and I've been staring at this damn empty page for at least an hour now.
Last week, I wrote about 7k words total (yay!), spent many hours massaging the dog who's leg is hurting (she is fine, but a great source of debilitating stress- she is my everything, I don't even know how to explain it. This is her first health-scare insomuch that we live in an apartment on the highest floor without an elevator, which just... scared me to death having to carry her when she does not like to be carried. We would have to move if this was some serious issue with her hips-which in this housing situation is nigh impossible without a bottomless well of money- but the vet assured us that it is just a strained muscle (I saw it when it happened- she did twist her leg taking a tight turn when running, and the injury seems to be receding, so I am hopeful even if worried).

Besides all that, I have been entering the fog-wall that is the java stylesheet again and again, and I'm making progress! If I keep up this pace, I might actually just give you patreons access to the next chapter and then do a public release with the whole twine port, new chapter included. Or I'll give patreons access to the twine build first... Well. Lot's of things to be decided once it's done, as you can tell!

Next week is going to be disastrous, though. I wouldn't even dare hope for any progress- it is the last week of partners vacation, we are both neck deep into the latest gaming releases (ack, are you playing either Remnant II or Baldur's Gate? I'm going insane over remnant, but have barely started BG, which I really want to do... Hopefully this week!), and we have a social thing going almost every day of the week, which just feels more draining than fun to me, but I have promised to grit my teeth through it because this only converges once a year. I wouldn't count on a lot of progress, but! I already have the triple M poly NSFW short scheduled for Friday! I am also hoping I can get a monthly progress report out for tumblr, but it isn't the end of the world if it takes another week. I also have both the vine-compilation and another two RO moodboards close to finished... We'll see if I have any extra time to devote to them!

Wow. That felt nice. I can get very wound up in trying to word things in a fun and engaging way- some of these dev logs age me a 1000 years and take me literal hours to write, but like with anything, finding my groove/letting go of the arbitrary pressure I put on myself is a process I'm willing to go through, even when it comes with the unending battles with my own expectations.
