Weekly Dev Log #3, June 26th 2023

Hello everyone! I hope you had a good weekend, whether you celebrated midsummer like me, vegged out on the couch (like me also) or stole the declaration of independence. (Did you?) 

Last week was very productive for me even with the long weekend! I finished the entirety of next chapters coding skeleton + some key dialogues and bare-boned actions. Oh, I'm so excited to see the reaction when this chapter comes out. It is so action packed! I am extremely satisfied with the flow of events, and the emotions baked in.
All in all, I added about 3k words in writing over the week, as well as a couple hundred on an possessive/jealous L short story that I’m just tinkering with whenever inspiration strikes. Oh I also started on Yor’s NSFW short! I did give up on the codexes for now- they are my arch nemeses and I want to strangle them dead.  
As for the chapter for Ouro, I started writing the actual content this morning in earnest, and I wrote 1.1k words in a mad rush. The words just spewed out of me! Have a look:

There is no order, no command given to attack as a united front, but you all synchronize with years of training, fanning out into the underbrush until you surround the path the oncoming lamprey is likely to take. Swords and daggers are pulled from every holster, the click and clack of guns being cocked reach you even though the forest howls in agony- and you feel the surge flare within you as those who can channel it link in.

Exciting. :> I also got a new pen for my ipad last week, and have been drawing again! Drawing is such a useful tool to me, for writing especially. There is something about getting lost in a sea of lines that allows my brain to wander whilst still having a tactical and grounding component. It helps me process and figure out my writing on many levels, and often starts with me coming up with sentences that feel a little like brushstrokes themselves. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked up from drawing with a eureka! shout ringing in my head, scrambling to get to a notepad to write a it down, so I am very happy to have that element back in my life. 

That’s it for last week's progress and this week's plans. I am considering joining in on camp nano which starts next week, but if I do I will have news for you next week. I think it could be really motivating (but scary) to share my nano page for you to see daily progress, if that is something that would interest you too!
