Hair system switch up!
Added 2023-11-08 16:55:18 +0000 UTChi hi! first of all i wanted to thank you all very much for subscribing to my patreon! i may have been a bit hard on myself and had my expectations too low, and i'm very grateful that it was so warmly received!
i wanted to give a bit of an update because i've been quiet. i had a hair system i was using to great the hair, but ultimately the look has been taking too much time and effort, for a result that looks really unsatisfying and synthetic
i've been procrastinating it since it was by far the most tedious part of creating a model i found. i put in some research lately and found that the technology for haircards has improved, and looks far more promising!
the end result is a lot more realistic, but still very performant hair that animators can use in both cycles and eevee, and even in game engines. i haven't done tons just yet, but the second picture is the edit!
thank you very much for your patience! i hope to get scott done this month, i'm really interested in maybe doing mauga from OW or sulley from MU afterwards, though i'll make a poll so you can all pick!
