This shot gives us a little bit of insight into some of the races that we'll be introducing, and my absolute fave is that short lady on the right-hand side--she comes from a semi-aquatic, bioluminescent species that I casually refer to as 'glowblins' in my notes. They've got a proper name, but... come on.

The big one on the right pretty much ended up as the basis for one of the Rubies that appeared already but the rest of these have yet to see use.

Quick Update on Rewards/Downloads!

I'm over halfway done formatting the HoEF comics for the downloadable pack (because I wanted to keep the blogs with them and also make them pretty and HOO BOY was I not prepared for how big a project that turned out to be), as well as the pinups and old wallpapers. The shop was a place of might and magic. It contained jewels alight with arcane fire, gleaming sets of gilded armor, and the hides of beasts both mundane and otherwise. There will be a small window of time before a Crabochon fully embeds itself and begins to take hold of the victim's mind where a character would pull it off. I'm thinking 2 rounds of Dexterity saves, and 3rd round Constitution. Let me know if that sounds fair while still being scary, or if I'm being utterly cruel here.

Our first up-close shot of infected Rubies! The first monsters for Facet are both featured here--Rubies will be an applicable template for other monsters/characters, and our little bitty bug friend there is what's known as a Crabochon! Every Ruby carries 1d3 Crabochons on their person who can attack and spread the infection to others.

Jerigor is a heavily fortified mountain city, so after the Ruby plague started to spread, patrols were pulled back from the surrounding area, leaving the terrain undefended and treacherous. People traveling to and from the city usually travel with heavy guard or in large caravans for safety. There are always individuals who risk the journey for the safety that the city promises, but infected Rubies are hardly the only danger lurking in the mountains.
