QOTW! ❤️ ✨ 😊

Hello Ali cats, we’re halfway through the week- yay! Not too much longer until the weekend ✨ I want to thank all of you for the birthday wishes on my last post, it really meant a lot to me and you’re all so sweet! 🥹

I’m currently trying to get caught up on comments since I lazed about on my birthday lol. I’m almost caught up but I don’t like to rush, just know that I’ll be getting to them! ^_^

One of you recently brought to my attention that I never had an art post of an older character I did. In the attachments below I have the drawing of my slug girl :D

Question of the week is one relating to ASMR. What’s a trigger or trait that’s not widely done or discussed that you enjoy? I know a lot of people like accents but that’s definitely a big one for me. It doesn’t really matter what the accent is I just like them!

QOTW! ❤️ ✨ 😊

Comments

I wish I could think of some on the top of my head but sadly I can't.

BloodyAzazel

A good mix is more Important than a single element, i think. there are many phases to sleep after all.

Mento

Thanks again as well! ^_^ Definitely agree on the British accent .. well.. at least the fancy sounding ones, some sound... strange lol

Delta

Don’t worry Kai, I know how terrible job searching is right now. It’s extremely annoying and difficult but you’ll find something! ❤️ I should look into Karaoke. I know uploading songs/singing is it’s own monster so I know there’s a lot of looking into to be done on my part!

alichu

No worries Berry, I appreciate the birthday wishes- thank you!! 😊 ❤️ I hope you have a wonderful weekend btw! Oh yeah, ear tapping is another big one for me. I think it’s because if it’s done in a certain rhythm it makes me think of rain which is really relaxing ✨

alichu

When it comes to sleeping sounds is there any in particular you like the best? Like breathing, snoring or light movements? :)

alichu

I can see that! I’ve played around with distance in some of my audios but I’m not sure if I’ve focused on the full 360 effect before. I should try that sometime! :)

alichu

You’re not the only one that would find that funny, my brain thinks of things like that too (and yes, sometimes in the worse situations lol) 😂 💀 I can’t help it. I always told people I had a dark sense of humor- I’m not sorry! Also, no judgement to falling asleep to that. I used to and still do fall asleep to watching Asmon and God knows he’s anything but relaxing/ASMR 😂 Something about him talking is just nostalgic for me I guess.

alichu

I hope you feel better soon Delta! Being sick is never fun so here’s to a quick recovery 🙏 Thanks also on the birthday wishes! No sushi but I did make a steak so it’s a win :P Hmm, it’s hard to pick a favorite accent since honestly any of them are nice…I guess if I HAD to pick it would probably be British. Although Finnish and German accents are a close second ✨

alichu

Simply the Sound that replicates it. Like when you're rubbing your Hand on your Arm or Hoodie!😊

strobi100

I won’t complain if you incorporate it into an audio 😮‍💨❤️

SomeGuyHere

I don’t think I’ve done a history themed roleplay before but that sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Historian girl bores you to sleep ASMR? :P lol. Given the history topic though I will definitely not be bored haha! It’s cool how different candles make different sounds, I’ve noticed that since doing ASMR. I don’t think I’ve ever tried a woodwick one but I do love me some crackling sounds ✨

alichu

Doin' alr. College is an arse kickin' 😅

itssimic

Another collarbone sound enjoyer!! I found that trigger not long ago and loved it, hints why I had to do it myself :D I know it may be a little strange to some but something about it is very relaxing to me. I should incorporate that sound into another audio sometime ✨

alichu

I hope you enjoyed your snow day! I’m so over the cold weather now. I love winter but damn, I can’t keep going back and forth between cold and warm days! 😭 I could see tongue twisters being fun! Any you recommend?

alichu

I feel you on the lid sounds. I really like those too but struggle with incorporating them for long periods of time haha! 😅 Maybe I could make a character that’s struggling to open random containers, like a witch or alchemist ✨

alichu

Thanks for the birthday wishes Mic! Wait, is that ok to call you? :P Let me know! I hope you’re doing well too btw!

alichu

Unintentional ASMR sources can be great, honestly. Another one that always comes to mind is the old welsh stonecarver, with his low voice and precise chisel work. xD And I really like your neko shoe shiner audio~ Possibly because it's also one where the listener/protag doesn't seem like a total doofus, and is kind to her. Plus I got a chuckle out of her sniffing the cans of polish lmao.

Shadowkitty

Yessss :3

Emeraldrop

A Glaceon audio with these ice sounds would be incredibly relaxing! :3 Definitely looking forward to see what you come up with for that! The truck idea could, funnily enough, actually work - definitely a creative way to get that sound. Now I can't help but imagine you waiting in ambush while your neighbor stealthily escapes every time... xD Also quite curious to see where you'd end up using it. Could be quite the challenge. :D

Kraiden

Being lazy and just relaxing is a great way to spend a birthday! I’m sorry I wasn’t able to say it on your actual birthday but happy birthday!!! I’m glad your day went well :) also love the art of the slug girl lol the background looks great too! For the question I’m not too sure tbh, i don’t think it’s really uncommon but I really enjoy the light ear taps and scratches, something about them be soothing lol. I can also agree with the accents too some be just really nice and soothing to hear specially when it’s a soft spoken asmr and not a whisper one lol

BerryCole

The move in was fine, but the job transition has been on a longer time than I would like. Hoping to get a good job within the year. Humming is pretty nice, and I can understand anxiety over copyright regarding music; record labels can be so mean. Karaoke is always fun to listen to. Coming up with your own songs feels so difficult to me, can only imagine how a songwriter works.

Kai Zomei

Haha that made me laugh harder than it should! 😂 I don’t think I’ve ever seen or heard the needle trigger you mentioned but it sounds interesting!

alichu

Oh yeah, I like light ringing too! I used to make this ringing sound with silver coins that I thought was relaxing- I should find where I put them :D

alichu

No worries at all Kai! I hope things are going Ok for you after moving. I know it’s kinda strange in the beginning so hopefully you get into a new normal with the changes ❤️ I do incorporate some humming into my ASMRs but always worry about singing. Not because I’m embarrassed but because I worry about copyright 😭 I guess I could come up with my own little song or tune though! However the idea of Karaoke was always super fun to me ✨

alichu

I don’t think I’ve ever played around with ice sounds so I’ll have to look into that. I do still have a Glaceon audio to work on so I think that would be the perfect opportunity! ✨ As for brown noise…hmm, I’m trying to think if there’s anything I could use to do that. I know one of my neighbors has a HUGE truck that they’ve been starting early in the morning to heat up. Maybe I could set up my recorder and capture some of it. Watch, that will be the one time they hurry up and leave and don’t let it just sit idle haha! XD

alichu

Yes, I agree! I feel this way a lot with Japanese onomatopoeia videos ❤️

alichu

I love the German accent! I may be a little bias since some of my family are German but either way it’s nice! 😊

alichu

Thanks Strobi! :D When you say arm and back rubs do you mean the sound of videos where it’s specifically those areas or other sounds that replicate it? Either way those are ones I don’t see often!

alichu

I feel you, I like bubbly sounds like that too! There’s these cup things I keep meaning to buy. I think they are specifically made for ASMR or fidget toys but it gives that sound effect! :D I’ll have to check out that sound/channel you mentioned. I know there’s a few channels like that where I’m not sure if they intended to be ASMR but they very much are and I really like them! Funny enough that’s where I got the inspiration for my cat girl shoe shining character. I got recommended a shoe shining channel and it’s oddly satisfying ✨

alichu

Thanks a bunch for the birthday wishes Hoots, I really appreciate it! 😊 I like tuning forks too but they are pretty tricky. Sometimes they come off a bit too loud or vibrating-ish? Is that a word? XD I used to do a kind of rendition of tuning forks but always wondered if the sound was too rough. It’s definitely ASMR hard mode haha!

alichu

Humming is a nice trigger (both to listen to and do!) :D I’m glad you liked the slug character Releo. It means a lot to know she’s what got you to join! ❤️

alichu

sleeping sounds or towel massage are both really good.

Mento

A style I always love to hear is when the full 360 range of listening is used in a recording. It seems difficult to pull off well, but the effect is incredibly intriguing and helps get a listener captivated by the speaker!

Delinash

Maybe I'm the only one who finds this funny but I was watching this show where they were investigating a killing, and one guy says we found the slug. Now of course I knew that they were referring to a bullet, but I just kept thinking of like 3 guys just staring at a slug scooting around on the floor after he said that lol. Anyway that came to mind when you said slug girl. I used to fall asleep to videos of people playing horror games. Idk what it says about me that I found it easy to fall asleep to the sound of people screaming lol.

Sir Skelington

Woohoo! Almost the weekend! Though... unfortunately I'm a bit sick now D: And Ima say it again, happy birthday! Now go get yourself some sushi and cake! :P Accents are certainly very nice! What's your fave for ASMR? As for me, I know I mentioned it to you before, but tuning forks.. I rarely see people use them but they just make my mind completely zone out.

Delta

Really cool question. I've talked about some of these before, but here are some that I like. - History. I love history, so having someone with a buttery smooth voice whisper history while I sleep is just perfect sometimes. - Books. Not uncommon to see someone tap on books, but different textures make different sounds. Having them do that then switching to talking about the book is awesome. - Map making/drawing. This one kinda goes a long well with the other two. There's a channel I like that will draw maps with chalk while whispering about what he's drawing. - Liquid/water sounds are always awesome. I've seen some people use things like Orbeez so it has the sound of liquid but also retains some of the sounds when being handled. It's pretty great. - Woodwick candles. It's a candle with a wooden wick that makes a crackling sound. Combine that with some tapping or whispering and it's very relaxing.

Moy

She looks great! Thanks for the art. I don’t know anything about art to attempt to explain it but something about your art always catches my eye :P For the question, I always scour YouTube until I find something that hits just the right spot lol. One weirdly specific trigger that I always love is when people say the g in ing words. I feel like a decent amount of people do it but no one really talks about it. One more specific one that I don’t really hear anymore is collarbone sounds. I can’t remember what video you did it on but you were tapping your collarbone and the second I heard it I knew it was your collarbone (yes that’s weird I’m sorry XD). It‘s just such a distinct sound which is why I guess I enjoy it? Idk lol

SomeGuyHere

Recently I got some snow in my area so I'm shut indoors for a while, which honestly is a good thing. It gives me time to relax in the heat for the day, not worry about work for a bit, and gives me time to just binge any show for the day. For the QOTW, I still don't really see people attempting Tounge Twisters. It's very uncommon to see other asmrtists do so, but then again I've also never seen a lot put candy eating in their audio (mainly sour candy imo).

BloodyAzazel

Lazy birthdays are sometimes the best! Lid sounds are one of the most effective ways for me to experience the ASMR sensation, but they obviously are harder to include in role plays because there's not a lot of reasons for a person to fiddle with the top of an opened container for a prolonged period of time instead of, you know, just taking the lid off

Amadis Anguiano

Hey Ali, glad to hear your birthday went wonderfu. Underrated trigger(s)? Hmm.... purring or head-scratching. Your pet rp videos are my favorite, so anything dog/cat-related.

itssimic

Enjoy your birthday! It marks yet another year of when your mother violently pushed you onto this world :) /s But to answer QOTW, It sounds weird, but I once listened to a video that used a needle in the ear for a trigger, and it was nice. But the best one used an iron nail. You could hear each ridge of the nail in the mic, and let me tell you, top tier.

BlueAsh173

Hello Alichu! You're welcome for the birthday wishes 😊 Yayyy slug girl, she looks so smug hehe. I think ringing isn't done much, though I could see why. Like tapping glass to make it ring

Emeraldrop

Sounds like you had a nice birthday. Things had been somewhat odd for me recently, so sorry I wasn't able to give you a proper happy B-Day. The skug girl art is cute. Hmm, not sure if I have an underrated trigger like that I like. I was recently curious if folks ever tried doing singing or humming based asmr, as that doesn't seem common from what I pay attention to. At least from my experience, there's something about singing at pianissimo that can have a special effect on the listener.

Kai Zomei

Lazing around on your birthday is mandatory, so no rush with the comments. xP The slug girl looks great! Love seeing older characters getting some spotlight again. :3 For ASMR triggers, anything ice-related is an instant favorite for me - ice cubes clinking in a glass, ice cracking, or even those deep, echoing frozen lake sounds. There's just something incredibly crisp, mysterious and satisfying about the way ice shifts. It has that perfect mix of sharpness and subtle ambient sound that makes it so relaxing. I'm also a huge fan of brown noise, like the steady hum of a hair dryer, heater, or even distant engine noises. It’s just ridiculously cozy - kind of like being wrapped in a warm blanket. Unlike white noise, it has more depth, making it so much easier to zone out and relax. Perfect for background noise when reading, working, or just winding down at the end of the day. Honestly, a combination of the two would be peak comfort for me. xD

Kraiden

Repetition ASMR. It's weird. The 10th time saying a trigger word is somehow better ASMR than the first time saying the trigger word

cloudberrybob

Ahh,and accents are pretty cool, and dialekts too. I'm an bavarian German and I can speak a ton of accents and dialekts, and it's a lot of fun!😁

strobi100

Sluggirl is supercute!😊 I think backrubs or armrubs are really enjoyeable,or scratchingsounds. I've seen those Map scratching Videos on YT and I like them a lot!😁

strobi100

Squishy but sweet~ The gooey girls deserve love too. Thanks for the cute repost! :3 For the QotW, I am very fond of the sort of hydroponic bubbling sounds of fluid displacing inside enclosed containers, but that's actually fairly common I guess~ xD If I had to pick one that is probably a little less so; I would say I really enjoy the sounds of a whetstone. There's a channel from an elderly japanese master knife sharpener where he hones blades by hand using traditional whetstones and clay, and I could probably listen to it forever. As well as the softer sounds of metal being worked in the background. The gentle clanging and tapping of metal being shaped rather than the heavy banging of the raw forging process. I find them oddly soothing, or maybe comforting is a better word.

Shadowkitty

Better late than never to say Happy Birthday right? 🥳 As for my favorite trigger I definitely love tuning forks, but its hard to find a good audio where the asmrtist doesnt get too close to the mic. Or maybe I need to use better headphones 😂

Two_Hoots88

I don’t see people do it to often but enjoy humming a lot I just find it rather soothing. The slug girl was the first audio I listened to on your Patreon since she was free and was what convinced me to sign up so am rather fond of her.
