Cozy Valentine’s Day Ramble! ❤️ 🪽 Bonus Valentine Card/Picture :3

Hello Ali cats and happy Valentine’s Day! ✨ Like I mention in this audio, today is a day for love but that also means loving yourself. I hope that each of you take a little time to relax and chill because you deserve it! 💖

Included is a valentine card/picture of what I would consider the perfect hangout: a good drink, playing on the switch and talking about some of my favorite books! :D

✨ I’ll be uploading another ramble later today that will also include Valentine-themed ASMR tingles to fall asleep to! ✨

Cozy Valentine’s Day Ramble! ❤️ 🪽 Bonus Valentine Card/Picture :3

Comments

Thanks for the well wishes on my trip! We did have a good time, it wasn't as long of a trip as we'd have liked, but it feels like the occasions on which I see her are dwindling so any time at all is a good thing. Feels like one of those things where if I don't go out of my way to maintain the connection, it'll just fall apart without anyone ever realizing or acknowledging it until it's gone. ...But, on a lighter topic! Yeah the Kabuto episode, I think was the first time I ever got exposed to the trope of "glowy eyes, shadowy body", and seeing hundreds of em all swarming with the yellow claws shook me pretty bad when I was (I think) 4 or 5. I bet there's an actual horror story in there somewhere to be written, too, like, instead of fossilized pokemon coming back to life, the entire island is comprised of actual, living insects and the upper "stone" layers are just a really, really thick layer of shed shells; and when the insects begin to move, the people exploring the island fall inside. That feels like a concept that can get expanded upon super easy by someone who can stick to a story-writing habit better than I can. The last time I watched Hundreds of Beavers was like 5 months ago and I did it on Prime Video, but the movie's website also says it's on Apple TV if that happens to be your streaming service of choice! And I dunno if you're the same, but when I watched it, having a crew to watch it with made it a lot funnier because we all cracked jokes about and reacted to all the Loony Tunes-ish bull-shittery together, and we were like active participants in the movie. I dunno if you or your friends' personalities or dynamics are like that, but if they are, then this is a perfect movie to do that with. ...Not that we'd do that in a public theater, though 👀

Kench

No worries Kench, I appreciate the recipe even with the dairy! I may still make it as intended, we’ll see if I’m feeling lucky the day I buy ingredients haha! 😆 I also hope you had a nice time visiting your grandmother! It’s funny you bring up the Kabuto episode because I just recently watched that one! The part that made me laugh was when Ash acted like he had never seen one before and I was like, “Bro, your chameleon literally evolved into a charizard the last time you encountered one of these guys, how do you not remember?” Lol. I could see that episode being scary as a kid though! I’ve never heard Hundred of Beavers but I’m always up for a good comedy movie. Do you happen to know a place that streams it? I definitely don’t recommend Dead Inside if you haven’t read horror/splatterpunk before. The author said that it’s satire (which I love) but it’s still very descriptive and could be off putting for people who don’t like that stuff! I really do appreciate your comment about my stories Kench, thank you! It means a lot when I can make others happy and entertained through my characters; even more so when the care comes through while listening! 😊 ❤️

alichu

Oh, the macaroni and cheese guy was me! Sorry about suggesting something so heavy on dairy, I hadn't known at the time that you were lactose intolerant. I hope making modifications don't cause trouble for you or make it too much work. ...But if you do wake up and those gambling dice come up sevens, lemme know how it tastes :3d I feel bad for not getting to this ramble when it was first uploaded—and on Valentine's Day, too! I had been visiting my grandma away from home and didn't quite have the space or time to myself for a while, but now I'm gonna run through everything I missed to catch up. Watching the entire Pokemon anime is one hell of a ride, let me know how it goes! Most of my core memories with the Pokemon anime are from Hoenn and Sinnoh, but back when I was a really, REALLY little kid, barely more than a baby, I remember my dad came back from a business trip from Japan with a VHS copy of some of the Orange Island episodes. I distinctly remember getting scared to shit by the episode that I now know was the one where the whole island was made of Kabuto fossils getting revived, especially since I couldn't understand a word of it as a kid. I wonder if that VHS is still floating around somewhere, maybe I could track it down and re-watch the original release now that I can speak the language. Re: movies, next time you're in a movie-watching mood, you've *got* to watch Hundreds of Beavers. It's an indie film from just a few years back, not very professionally produced‚ but that almost makes it soooo much better??? If you're a fan of slapstick comedy—no, even if you just *mildly enjoy* it—then it's 100% worth your time. I don't want to say too much because the less you know going in, the more hilarious and fun it's going to be when you get there. Totally understand the vibe thing you were talking about for when you went to Trader Joe's, I've definitely walked into rooms before, taken just a moment to read the air, and realized that the people just aren't on the same wavelength as me. Not that they're at fault or anything, it just kinda happens and like, it just feels unfortunate. Don't let it stop you from shopping where you want, if you like the stuff there then by all means go get yer stuff, but if the vibe stops you from wanting to shop at TJ's, that too is completely valid and you shouldn't push yourself to go somewhere you don't want to go just for a slightly different catalogue. Totally agree with you about the takeaways from Dead Inside that you talked about (not that I've read it myself, sounds like it's a good read but also a bit advanced for my level <.<). Not every hobby has to be completely normalized, but they've gotta have their own niche and be allowed to exist there. Having someone who's there to verbalize their acceptance of you can be important, even more so the more you've heard or seen disapproval before. Hope that you don't face too much of that yourself, and that you've got your set of loved ones and friends who can be your affirmers (is that a word? It should be). Not sure how much it means from a rando like me, but your audios and roleplays are incredibly well done, cute as hell, relaxing, and just have a lot of soul in them, like, I can feel how much care goes into the production of each one when I listen to them. They're worth being proud of.

Kench

I should pick up the book sometime too. I had no idea it was a book until recently so I’m sure that’s good too! I also thought it was really cool how the movie didn’t use any sounds or music throughout it. That was a really unique touch that stood out to me. As for the cover, I figured you’d probably like it as a fellow skelly xD

alichu

You really can't go wrong with the Corpse Party games - happy I could serve as a reminder. xP Hope you enjoy them when you get the chance! Higurashi is one of my favorites as well. It can be a bit confusing the first time you jump into it, but once everything starts coming together, it works so well. I definitely enjoy the genre (also watched Shiki and Another, which were quite good), so I'd gladly take any recommendations you have. :3 I lean more towards psychological horror/thrillers in general - things like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Steins;Gate really hit that perfect balance imo. I have to admit, though, Berserk is still on my watch & read list. I've only heard good things about it. (well... except for the 2016 anime... ^^")

Kraiden

Oh, I'll have to look for them the next time I go to Aldi :P I usually go to Lidl though, same kind of store pretty much lol You should try it! It's so friggin good! And hopefully the Mac and cheese turns out great!

Delta

No country is a really good movie. I will say, it does have deeper meaning, but I think the story stands on its own, so it doesn't need to rely on just the theme behind it. I'm the same when it comes to getting into new stuff or movies. It takes a lot to get me interested in a topic but when I do, I won't stop until I know everything I can. Also, the cover for that book is really good, but I'm probably biased. I really like the colors chosen by whoever illustrated it.

Sir Skelington

I’m really excited to get to those parts! Most of my Pokemon anime knowledge is in the original, jhoto and alola. I also watched a little of advanced but that’s about it. There’s going to be so much new stuff and I’m really pumped up for it :D And happy Valentine’s Day to you too Wheniks; I hope you have a great weekend ❤️

alichu

Oh very nice on Pokemon Black and I wish you all the best in completing the Pokédex in Black 2! :D I was suddenly reminded just how massive the Pokédex is in sword/shield so what I’m doing is playing Let’s Go Eevee alongside it. I find that game pretty chill and easy so it’s nice to go back and forth :D There’s a used book/game store not too far away and I plan on taking a trip there next week. Fingers crossed maybe I can find a copy of either game, even if they are expensive! I’ll just consider it a birthday gift to myself if I find one haha! XD I love Tarantino’s movies! I feel a little embarrassed to admit it took me so long to watch that one ; w ; It really became a favorite though. The acting and storytelling were fantastic. It’s also funny you brought up that book! I had no idea it was a book at all until I got a YouTube video recommendation for it (I follow a lot of book tubers lol). Yeah, the picking up on vibes thing I see as both a gift and curse. Sometimes I wonder if I’m just being too paranoid but no, I really do think some places and people give off energy that just doesn’t sit well. I’m sorry you had to experience that :( As for “Dead Inside”, I would only recommend it to people who have been introduced to that genre beforehand. I wouldn’t consider it a good entry level book but maybe after a few others first! Kinda like spice levels, you start off mild and work your way up lol :P I do appreciate what you said about not feeling like I need to explain myself so thank you for that ❤️ It makes me really happy that you enjoy my chats and me too so thank you Moy! I hope you have a good weekend! ^_^

alichu

I’m glad you enjoyed the ramble Kraiden, thank you for listening and happy Valentine’s Day to you :D I’ve never tried agave syrup before but if it tastes like caramel I’d definitely be up for trying it sometime! The honey helps my throat but ugh, I can’t stand the taste in tea >.< Oh yes, the list of anime you mentioned are some of my favorites! Especially Berserk and Higurashi. I’m not sure if you like that genre yourself but I know a few others if you ever want recommendations :) I’ve only ever watched the Corpse Party anime but always wanted to play the game. Funny enough I saw it on the PlayStation store and meant to buy it so thanks for reminding me! ❤️

alichu

I’m glad you enjoyed the ramble Eeveeolite and thank you! ^_^

alichu

I’m not sure what the brand name was but they were from Aldis! I don’t know what they put in those things but man are they good ✨ Ohh, that steak sounds good! I’m a really big fan of mustard so I’m sure that’s delicious. I haven’t made the Mac and cheese yet so I’m not too sure how it will go haha! I’m taking a recipe a patron gave me and tweaking it a bit for my lactose intolerance :) To you and to anyone else reading I hope that everyone is able to find a friend group of even just one that they can talk about their likes/interests with. It may take some time but it will happen! Everyone just keep being themselves ❤️

alichu

Haha I love that idea! XD

alichu

Aww that was cute! I had never heard that song until now and it was adorable :3

alichu

I’m glad you enjoyed your chocolates Releo and happy Valentines Day to you! :D After this ramble and my birthday I think I’ll be taking a break from sweets for a while lol. I have a bad sweet tooth so I gotta be careful! 😆 I’m happy to hear you have a friend you can be yourself with. And to anyone reading I hope you do too or find those who accept you for who you are ✨ It means a lot that I can provide a place for you all to feel that way. I never want anyone to feel weird for liking what they like here! I hope things get less stressful for you too and that you have a good weekend :)

alichu

Haha I’m sorry- honey in tea is just something I can’t bring myself to enjoy! 😭 😆 I deal with it though because it really does help my throat when I’m recording roleplays! :D Happy Valentine’s Day to you too! ❤️

alichu

I like to spoil my cats when I can for I am the mother of all Ali cats! 🐱 ❤️

alichu

I don’t mind being called a cat lady- cat lady for life!! 🐱 ❤️

alichu

Just you wait until the Sinnoh league. That will always be my favorite serious of my boy Ash. He has a stacked Pokémon team and his rivals where top level. Team Galactic, in my opinion where slept on villains. I loved there reasoning for what they do in the game and in the anime. plus the opening was a bbbaaannngggeerr!!! The overall writing was peak Pokémon in my opinion. The Unova league could have also been peak Ash but we don't talk about that part lol. Also happy valentine’s Day

Wheniks

I still think your pokemon goals are crazy, but it makes me want to step mine up a bit lol I'm currently in the post game of pokemon Black. After I finish I'm going to take a little break before playing Black 2 and completing the pokedex. There's no Elite 4 in Sword/Shield, there's just a tournament at the end. I actually really like that about that game. It's a darn shame you couldn't find Colosseum and Fire Emblem Path of Radiance. I think you would like Path of Radiance. As someone who likes collecting things too, I say that even if it's expensive, if you really want it you should buy it :P I think we watch movies the same way. Don't watch anything, then watch a bunch of them out of nowhere lol Pulp Fiction is a fantastic movie, I personally really like a lot of Tarantino's films. I know some people aren't really fans due to his use of colorful language Lol No Country for Old Men is also great! You picked some really good movies to watch! I really like the book too, it was written by Cormac McCarthy, the same person who wrote The Road. My favorite book of his is Blood Meridian, I think you might like that one. Hearing about your culinary journey has been great. And I get not taking pictures, my friends get mad at me anytime we go out eating because I never wait for them to take a picture of the food. Idk why, but taking pictures of a meal every time is weird to me. "Some food is too good not to eat." I love that. And I 100% get what you mean about getting a weird vibe from somewhere and feeling you don't belong. I went to go visit one of my best friends in his home town in Michigan once, it turns out it was in the middle of nowhere. I've never felt so unwelcome somewhere in my life lol Be that at a local breakfast place or the local bar, I could feel people's stare and see old people whisper lol I understand that when you're talking about something, you're not exactly recommending it. Even if it's something you like, we all have different tastes. Personally, I won't be adding the book to my "to be read" shelf lol Based on that description, if I had to guess, at the minimum there is some baby eating. I can't say I'm not a little curious though, the pretty cover art is enough to make me want to buy it. I liked your little talk at the beginning and at the end. It's always nice having someone there for you, being lonely is painful, especially if it's because you don't feel comfortable sharing what you're passionate about. Everyone deserves some comfort and bonds with people. I know I still hide or keep some of my interests to myself, even among family and friends, because I've always disliked feeling judged or feeling different. I kinda don't like that you felt the need to explain yourself, this is your page and you like what you like. I'm here on Patreon not just because I like your ASMR but I also think you're really cool. Pretty sure I'm not the only one that thinks that. Even if the book isn't what I would typically read, hearing about why you liked it is still nice.

Moy

Really nice idea, I really enjoyed it. :3 Thanks for sharing the cookies and spending time with us! You've got quite the journey ahead with the Pokemon series and games - but a fun one! And congrats on the progress in your cooking journey as well! Little by little, one travels far. :> If honey in tea isn't your thing, maybe try agave syrup? It has a more caramel like taste, so it might be a good substitute for you. The gamble of eating dairy products while being lactose intolerant is so relatable - nothing beats good cheese or ice cream, even when you know you're going to suffer for it shortly after. xD And about the book and the topics you mentioned - if something isn't mainstream, there's almost always a group that stigmatizes it, often without even trying to understand it. Can't really change those people, so it's best to just ignore them. As long as someone enjoys something and it doesn't hurt anyone, why not? Even better when you can share your passion for something obscure or unique with someone else! Speaking of the book's genre - if you've been around anime/manga for a while, there was a period where you couldn't really avoid running into something with similar elements. Gantz, Higurashi, Berserk... the list goes on. And most of them were quite good. ^^ Also, if you haven't played them yet, I highly recommend the Corpse Party games! (Can't say much about the anime, though, since I haven't watched it yet.)

Kraiden

Love the rambles! And happy Valentine's Day!

Eeveeolite

Happy Valentine's day Ali! And hmm.. crunchy peanut butter cookies feel wrong... I've always preferred soft :P but what brand are they? And ooh!! Here's a great pan sauce for steak, and works with potatoes too! After cooking the steak in the pan, deglaze with 1/3 cup of a brown liquor, I use cognac or most recently, brandy, let it reduce down, and pour in a cup of heavy cream along with a tb of butter and a tb of Dijon mustard. Let entities combine and reduce down until it can coat the bottom of a spoon without running off. it is so friggin good with a ribeye and roasted potatoes!! And Ima have to DM you about the Mac and cheese... And oooh... you went to the snobby kind of Trader Joes... it's just a bougie Aldi... lol the main thing i don't like about them is the parking lots suck... And oh God..Ali.. you're into that?!? God you're such a sickening freak! Jk jk!! Lol but I understand what you mean, there are a few weird things i like that I don't really talk to anyone about it anymore. Used to have 1 or two friends i could talk to about it, but they're gone now, so I just keep quiet about it, it was nice to have someone to talk to about it. Also Ali thighs for V-Day? You spoil us! :P

Delta

Just finished listening - I'm never going to think of honey in my tea the same way again 💀😂 Happy Valentine's day!

Verrick

Cookie Monster girl is in order Also I think being not weird is weird

Karmax

Your talk at the end reminds me of the song 'So Am I' but the nightcore version cause I'm old.

Smitchy The Kidd

Happy Valentine’s Day Ali it may be chocolate day but I’ve still gotta be careful on my diet I bought some chocolate so I’ll have some have a couple while I listen. im definitely happy to just hangout before work took a shift from a coworker to help them out today but until then I’m chill out here. Glad to hear your Pokémon journey is going well hopefully you can find coliseum eventually.Ive seen clips from both of those movies they both look very intriguing I should give them a watch. Medium rare is absolutely the best way to have steak awesome job. Also Cabot both well makes lactose free aged cheddar cheese I don’t know if they sell it where your at but if you can find some it might be worth a try you could have Mac and cheese and what not without the risk. Definitely resonate with the last thing you said I only really have one friend but he accepts all my oddity’s I’m a pretty resevered person out in public but I feel like I can just be myself when we hang out and I agree everyone needs some one like that it helps keep you stable keeping who you are all bottled up inside all the time is not good for your mental health and this one of thee only other places I feel comfortable so thank you letting us hang out here. I don’t know what exactly dead inside is but if that is the message it’s trying to convey I can get behind that and I know you and like you said you can be into a piece of media and not actually wanna do anything they characters within the media are doing I feel like a lot of people need to learn that. I enjoyed listening thanks for hanging out with us today Ali my day and my mood is much better now taking some time to relax and have a little bit of chocolate is just what I needed things have been pretty stressful for me recently.

Releothunder

Whoop, more rambles!! Thanks!

Crazy cat lady arc inbound

Support Main

Firstly, you can technically be Ali-anything... so long as you still wear cat ears. Secondly, you may be right. Alichu is definitely the mother of all ali-cats, but she's probably on her single cat lady arc.

BloodyAzazel

Jeez, 5 audios back to back to back in one week? You're spoiling us a lot Alichu.

BloodyAzazel

Hmmm... Calls her fans Ali CATS, drinking some wine, while reading. Is Ali on her single cat lady arc?
