Heck yea! Space is awesome! Now out of curiosity, is our choice what we'd be to the next character, or what they'd be to us? :P cause I chose senior of it's the character since well.. imagining the listener as the newbie on the crew lol

I’m honestly fine with any choice that wins but a junior would be very cute for this theme (especially since my nerdiness comes out the most in fantasy instead lol) :P ❤️

In most everyday life situations though, I definitely enjoy the dynamic you described that lets everyone shine and do their best as needed :D

But after our encounter with the Nekolings, I think we're more than ready to have our own kohai! We're experienced spacefarers, after all. :> It would be cool to show our junior all these surprising, alien things they never would've believed existed, and that not everything out there is out to get you. :3

2025-02-06 06:40:10 +0000 UTCThis sounds like a really fun idea I’m a big fan of Si fi stuff seeing as I love Halo, star wars transformers really anything nerdy lol. anything in space sounds cool Exploring the void maybe cataloging all the monstrous creatures maybe stopping by a certain cosmic restaurant with food that defys understanding for lunch sounds like a good time to me. As for the relationship to thee other person any of them should be interesting a peer working side by side on research in the void of us showing a junior the ropes of void safety and how not to get swallowed by an eldritch horror or a senpai teaching us the ins and outs of void travel while we’re in awe of how cool they are all sound fun I’m sure whatever you decide to do it will be awesome though!

2025-02-06 06:03:01 +0000 UTCThis is kinda funny, but before regular astronauts or even being on a Star Trek-esque crew, my immediate knee-jerk image on hearing "space explorers" was something like the Doctor and their companion on Doctor Who :P Not even sure which one I would prefer to be for an adventure, both relative positions of experience have their own charms, both are good. I feel like I might get to hear more Ali confidently talking about how the lore of the trip and the way the expedition works and taking charge if I'm the junior, though, so I might have a slight preference for that ^^ Also, fun fact, even though you'll usually only hear the words kouhai 後輩 and senpai 先輩, there's a hidden third option, douhai 同輩, for peers! It's not nearly as common, because in professional contexts even just a short while's difference in experience usually disqualifies peerhood and in school contexts you always hear doukyuusei 同級生 instead, but it's still there!

2025-02-06 05:36:27 +0000 UTCI think any of these could certainly be good, considering your writing i'm sure they could all be given a fun dynamic. :3 Buuut just personally if I was on an expeditionary team or other major function, it would make me feel the best about our situation if everyone I was working with were people I trusted and considered my peers in terms of competency and skillset. Not to say I wouldn't take care of a junior troop, or respect a senior officer, but... In my experience teams tend to work best when everyone is operating at the same threshold and are able to fluidly lead and follow together based off squad specializations. xD
